A BMW driver had a fortunate escape after crashing via a barrier and into a river.
The £63,000 EV (electric vehicle) plunged into the River Hiz in Hitchin City Centre, Hertfordshire yesterday.
Despite the SUV turning into virtually absolutely submerged, the feminine driver managed to get out unhurt.
It's believed she thought the EV was in park mode and accidently hit the accelerator, which despatched the car via the barrier and into the water.

Hertfordshire Police and Hertfordshire Hearth and Rescue Service attended the scene and the car was lifted and positioned on a recovery truck simply earlier than 7pm.
