WHEN Nicola McLean was single in the Noughties she was positive about one thing – when she found adore it wouldn't be with a footballer.

The 42-year-old mum of two boys says: "Again once I was a Page Three woman, loads of glamour models have been hooking up with footballers.
"But I knew that so lots of them have been cheats and that wasn't one for me.&
"I used to stumble upon them on a regular basis once I was out in London and saw how many of them ended up leaving the club with ladies who weren't their wives.&
"I'd go as far as saying all footballers are cheats – or at the least I've never recognized a trustworthy one. I hope there are exceptions however I'd be stunned.
Nicola even teased she still receives messages to today however doesn't give the footballer in query the satisfaction of believing she's read them.
She stated: "I nonetheless get married ones sliding into my DMs now… I shortly open them, screenshot, ship them to Tom and then mark them as unread!
"I by no means interact at all. It makes Tom snicker because he trusts me and I assume he knows what footballers are like.

Nicola ended up with Tom, 43, after being arrange on a blind date by a good friend and having their first date at London Zoo in 2005.&
She says: "I went along considering nothing would occur. I keep in mind my sister begging me to& avoid any footballer.&

The couple went on to have their son, Striker, now 13, in 2010 but Nicola admits life married to a footballer hasn't all the time been straightforward.

"They intentionally go to the eating places and golf equipment they know footballers can be at, a few of them even get jobs there. They make associates with footballers' buddies to attempt to get closer to footballers.&
"One woman is at a footballer's beck and name. She waits for his text to say his girlfriend is out and goes and meets him for an hour to have sex – it's crazy.
Nicola believes footballers behave 'appallingly' and doesn't approve of their behaviour, or of the women who fawn over them.
"Ladies should have extra self-respect and not simply settle for it.
"I'm educating my sons to be respectful to ladies, and if I had a daughter I'd be mortified if she behaved like a number of the wannabe WAGS."
All of the wannabe WAGS is likely one of the causes that 15 years after their wedding ceremony, Nicola nonetheless retains a firm eye on Tom – freely admitting to maintaining tabs on him wherever he goes.
Maintaining tabs
Nicola says the one device you want today is social media and in her personal words, she is 'a grasp at it'.
"If he goes on a boys' night time out, I will verify which restaurant he's at, then I will take a look at the restaurant's Instagram, after which verify anyone who's boasted about being there.
Nicola retains shut tabs on hubby Tom when he's out and about, even going as far as checking his follower rely to see if it rises.
"He now has a concierge company in Las Vegas and every time he goes there I'll verify what number of followers he has earlier than, and how many he has adopted and if the quantity modifications I'll take a look at the new individual.
"Tom is aware of I do it, we giggle about it. However I feel it's smart to stay on prime of it and nip anything within the bud.

The only approach is footballers
Despite her misgivings about marrying a footballer, Nicola says that she and Tom are stronger than ever.
If worst comes to worst and Tom hadn't walked into her life, she believes she would have ended up with one other footballer.
She admits: "There's something special about footballers. To play professionally you need to be very pushed and decided, which is engaging.
A few of the prime qualities she believes they possess are a great sense of humour, 'peak bodily condition' and a certain 'vanity' that makes them extremely engaging.
"Admittedly the cash is a bonus, although that didn't play an element in our relationship – I've earnt very properly and invested my money correctly.
Nicola, who is understood for her candour, did not mince her phrases for ladies trying to bag themselves a premier league player.
She stated: "Goal a footballer, marry them should you're in love with them.

Advice from one WAG to another
In the wake of Kyle Walker's infidelity, Nicola advises Annie to stick to her own course and not to feel pressured into leaving her husband for worry of judgement or to seem 'weak' publically.
Nicola stated: "The only individual that is weak in this is Kyle who needed to have his cake and eat it and couldn't resist temptation and messed about his wife and youngsters – however so many males do.
"I feel all men both cheat or have the capacity to and footballers simply have a variety of opportunities."
Nicola believes marriage is rather more than just intercourse, and that if Kyle really believes Annie is his 'soul-mate', she should weigh up the pros and cons of staying with him for the sake of their family.
"She has to consider whether or not she can be happier with out him or with him."
However simply as she holds an in depth eye on her husband Tom, she admits provisions would have to be made so Annie would have peace of mind within their relationship, saying 'she'd hold very shut tabs on him.
