The previous Chiefs linebackers coach, 38, is now slated to stay underneath house arrest till October 2025.

He was convicted of driving whereas intoxicated after slamming into two automobiles while drunk in February 2021.

Driving at 84 miles per hour close to Arrowhead Stadium slightly below two seconds prior to the collision, Britt crashed into two automobiles on an entrance ramp to the freeway.

5-year-old Ariel Younger was in one of the automobiles and suffered a traumatic brain damage in the accident.

Cops reportedly smelled alcohol on Britt, who they added had bloodshot eyes.

His blood alcohol degree was measured at 0.113 – properly above the authorized limit of 0.08, native ABC affiliate KMBC reported.

The decision to commute Britt's sentence was made by Missouri Governor Mike Parson.

"Mr. Reid has completed his alcohol abuse remedy program and has served extra jail time than most individuals convicted of similar offenses," Parson's office said.

"Mr. Reid shall be underneath house arrest until October 31, 2025, with strict circumstances of probation, together with weekly meetings with a parole officer, weekly behavioral counseling attendance, weekly meetings with a peer help sponsor, and stringent group service and employment requirements."

The circumstances of his probation will require Britt to seek out "employment of at the least 30 hours per week," set up "an ignition interlock system in any car he operates," participate in "random substance screenings," and full a minimal of ten hours of group service monthly, amongst other requirements.

An lawyer representing the Young household reportedly stated they are "in disbelief" at the determination, as per The Kansas City Star.

In November 2022, Young's mom, Felicia Miller, detailed to a Kansas City courtroom how her daughter remained in a coma for 2 weeks following the crash.

"[Britt] had each alternative in life," she stated.

"As an alternative of doing something with the opportunities which were handed to him, Britt Reid harm us.

"Ariel's life is perpetually changed due to Britt Reid. Her life might be coping with the injury that Britt Reid did."

Miller added that Ariel, "won't ever play sports. Sports, [which] his household has made a dwelling off of.

"She'll by no means do this. He took that from her.

"She is going to cope with the consequences of his actions daily for the remainder of her life."

Britt was nonetheless in jail as of Friday night time.

His sentence was commuted three weeks after Andy and the Chiefs gained their second consecutive Tremendous Bowl.
