Valentina Petrillo, the Paralympics' FIRST trans track athlete, fails to qualify for the final of the women's 400m T12 despite the 51-year-old father-of-two setting a new PB
Transgender Paralympic sprinter Valentina Petrillo missed out on a place in the women's 400m T12 final at Paris 2024 despite setting a new personal best. The 51-year-old - who has won 11 national men's titles - qualified for the semis on Monday morning, after the sport's governing body accepted the athlete's eligibility to compete. But a third-place finish in a PB time of 57.58 seconds in her semi-final later on Monday was not enough to see her progress.
