Mel, 50, was such a fan that she even joked that she needed a cover band to perform at her upcoming wedding toRory McPhee. "Hell yeah," Tom responded. "We are so down." It turns out the the Spice Girls alum wasn't the only judge that was impressed by Tom.Howie Mandelapplauded the Bravo star for being a "showman," while he was also impressed with his dedication to the cover band. Meanwhile,Sofía Vergarapointed out that the entire band brought a nice energy to the performance. "Tom, you look amazing up there," theModern Familystar, 52, said. "You guys brought us joy tonight." Simon Cowellwas the last judge to share his opinion. After he noted that he's friends with Tom's former bossLisa Vanderpump, Simon, 65, insisted that he wouldn't let the friendship sway his judging. "For me, the vocals weren't great, Tom. I'm going to be honest with you," he said. "However, not everyone comes on this show to get a record deal. Sometimes, it's about being true to who you are. I'm going to say yes." All four judges voted "yes," and Tom Sandoval and the Most Extras moved on to the next round of competition. While they still have a long way to go, the band got one step closer to winning the $1 million prize. Following the performance, Tom reflected on how special the experience was while talking to hostTerry Crews.
