Parton, 79, bowed out of the spotlight for a spell following the March death ofCarl Dean, her husband of 60 years. But the indefatigable singer-actress-philanthropist has, as usual, numerous projects in the pipeline. The live production based on her life, "Dolly: A True Original Musical," begins previews in Nashville July 18 with an eye toward Broadway. Her other show,"Threads: My Songs in Symphony,"a multimedia experience featuring her songs rearranged with orchestras and guest vocalists, is touring the country through May 2026. Parton also made headlines for her unconventional pairing with hard rockers Motley Crue on a remake of their 1985 ballad,"Home Sweet Home." The song has been reimagined as a duet and will appear on the band's Sept. 12 retrospective, "From the Beginning."
