"I'm really lucky that I have a really good co-parent and partner in Jennifer Garner, the kids' mom, who's wonderful and great and we work together well," Affleck toldGQin April. He also recalled to the outlet how he and Garner used to speak to their children when stories about them were on newsstands. "They would see something on a supermarket stand, we would say, 'Well, you know, this isn't always true, because if it were, you would have 15 brothers or sisters or whatever the number of stories is where they said that your mom was pregnant,' " Affleck said. "I know what's going on in my life. And also, really more importantly, my kids know," he added. In June 2015, days after their 10th wedding anniversary, the pair revealed they were getting a divorce. It was finalized in October 2018. "When you have children with somebody, you're connected to them forever," Affleck toldPEOPLEin 2020. "And I'm very lucky she is the mother of my children. I'm very grateful and respectful of her. Our marriage didn't work, and that's difficult. Both of us really believe that it's important for kids to see their parents respect one another and get along, whether they're together or not."
