Shakira wrote the ballad for her children, Sasha, 10, and Milan, 12, as a promise to them that she'd stay strong amid the split from their father and her ex-partner,Gerard Piqué. "My heart melts every time I see them on that screen and I hear their little voices," the star told the outlet. "They're just everything to me. They're my engine and the reason why I'm alive. So having them every night on stage, it's just such a precious moment." She told the outlet that they have "mixed emotions" about it, saying that they get "stressed out" for her. "When I have a show, they're kind of stressed out because they want everything to come out perfect for me," she said. "They're always worried, like, 'Mom, how did it go? Did you fall? Are you okay?' And I try to show them that there's no perfect show. It's okay to make a mistake." Shakira told PEOPLE in 2015 thatparenting is the hardest thingshe's ever had to do. "It's one of the most difficult things I've done in my life," she said. "I've been on the most challenging stages performing in front of really demanding audiences and I've been meeting with world leaders who sometimes make you a little bit apprehensive, but nothing has made me so self-conscious as being a mom. … Every day I wonder if I'm doing the right thing. Shakira had her two favorite people there to support her at the2025 Grammy Awards. On Sunday, Feb. 2, the Colombian singer brought her sons with her as she attended music's biggest night. Inone sweet photo from the event, the proud mom could be seen walking hand-in-hand with her boys, who wore matching silver tuxedos. Later in the night when Shakira took home the award for best Latin pop album, the musician received big hugs from her boys as she headed to the stage. When she accepted her Grammy, Shakira adorably shouted out her sons. "I want to share this award with my kids, Milan and Sasha, who are here with me," she said. "I'm so proud of you guys, of your kind hearts." Her boys blew her kisses in return as the mom of two added, "Thank you so much for supporting me the way you do. I love you."
