Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel might be raising two future entertainers.

The couple welcomed their first son, Silas, in 2015, three years after their wedding in Italy. Their family grew again in 2020 with the arrival of their second son, Phineas.

Now, their older son is following in his famous parents’ footsteps — at least for one movie. Biel’s upcoming film, Matchbox: The Movie , out Oct. 9, marks her first feature film in nearly a decade, and Silas also landed a small role in the movie.

“He plays a small part in the movie at the very end , which is really cute,” Biel told E! News in October 2026.

A few months prior, Biel told PEOPLE in July 2026 that her children play a major role in her career decisions, including her return to the big screen.

“Getting back into the film industry has been something that I’ve been really excited about doing,” she said. “ It has to be right timing , it has to be the right thing. I have little kids, you know, there’s a lot of elements that go into a decision, for me at least.”

Timberlake and Biel’s first child, Silas Randall Timberlake, was born on April 8, 2015. Silas was named after Timberlake’s maternal grandfather, Bill Silas Bomar. He also shares the same middle name, Randall, as his father.

When Silas was 6 months old, Biel opened up about motherhood on the Today show, saying, “It’s an amazing, amazing experience. Incredibly hard — the hardest job in the world, and I’ve never been more thankful and grateful to my own mother.” She also called her infant “amazing” and “wonderful.”

Although Timberlake has several Grammys to his name, Silas was seemingly unfazed by his father’s success as a young kid. While speaking to Jimmy Fallon in May 2021, Biel said of her then 6-year-old, “ Whenever he hears Daddy’s song , he’ll go, ‘Oh yeah, that’s Dad. No big deal, whatever.’ ”

The Candy actress even admitted she can’t get Silas to watch her children’s show, Pete the Cat .

“I tried to get him to watch the show, he will not watch,” she revealed. “And yet he says, ‘Hey Mom, hey Mom, do one of those voices from the show,’ and I’m like, ‘But you’ve never seen the show. You don’t even know.’ He’s just like, ‘Just do it, Mom,’ so I’ll do one of the voices, and he’ll be like, ‘Cool Mom, cool.’ “

After Biel released her children’s book, A Kids Book About Periods, she told PEOPLE in June 2024 that she and Silas had started reading the book together and that it was “ really cool to see him listening .”

“He was so cool about it. I was like, ‘Oh my God, score. We did it,’ “ Biel said. “That was the first step in much bigger conversations and deeper conversations that I hope to have with him. And that’s exactly why I wrote this book.”

Now 11, Silas is already dabbling in both sides of the entertainment industry. Biel told E! News that in addition to making his acting debut in Matchbox , her older son has taken an interest in music and DJing.

“He’s kind of interested in both lanes,” she said. “We’re just kind of letting him take his time and see what happens and what he really gets interested in.”

Phineas Timberlake, Biel and Timberlake’s second child, was born in the summer of 2020.

However, it wasn’t until a January 2021 appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show that Timberlake opened up about his baby for the first time.

“ He’s awesome and so cute . Nobody’s sleeping,” Timberlake said. “But we’re thrilled. We’re thrilled and couldn’t be happier. Very grateful.”

When Timberlake was asked how Silas was doing as a big brother, he replied, “Right now, he’s very much liking it. Phin can’t walk yet or chase him down. So we’ll see what happens.”

A few months later, Biel shared more about quietly welcoming her baby on Dax Shepard ’s Armchair Expert podcast, saying, “I had, like, a secret COVID baby. It wasn’t like it was supposed to be a secret. It was just COVID happened, and then I went to Montana with my family and never left.”

She also revealed that she wasn’t sure if Timberlake would be allowed in the hospital for the birth because of COVID-19 restrictions. “I was really getting nervous about that situation,” she said. “But yes, he was allowed. I think if I had to be there alone, that would have been horrible. I would have been really scared.”

In July 2026, while promoting her upcoming film Matchbox , Biel gave a very “mom” answer when asked what she would shrink down to the size of a Matchbox car and carry around in her pocket all day.

“ My kids! ” she told E! News . “That would be great if they could just hang out right in a pocket, hanging with me all day long.”
