A promising Sydney rugby league player broke down sobbing and hyperventilated after learning he'd been found guilty of sex acts with a child. Connor Lind, 23, faced a trial in Sydney's Downing Centre District Court, having pleaded not guilty to a string of allegations that he engaged in sexual acts with two girls, aged 14 and 15. After a week of deliberation by the jury, Lind sat tall as it returned the first verdict - not guilty - but collapsed into his hands crying as it returned three more findings of guilty.

A footy club in North Brisbane were left stumped after a tree bizarrely appeared in the centre of its oval. The Sandgate Hawks took to social media last week to share the mystery that left officials stumped, with a six-foot tree planted in the ground overnight on Wednesday, August 28. In a statement to fans, the club seemed to take the strange situation in their stride. 'We know the last few years have seen an amazing amount of GROWTH at our club, however a tree growing out of the center circle isn't exactly the growth we were chasing,' they said.
