US Open 2024: Roger Federer weighs in on Jannik Sinner doping controversy after world No 1 failed two tests for banned steroid
Roger Federer believes Jannik Sinner was lucky to escape a ban after the world No 1 twice tested positive for a banned steroid. The Italian entered this US Open under a cloud after the International Tennis Integrity Agency announced the failed tests but confirmed that an independent tribunal had accepted that the contamination occurred during a massage from his physiotherapist. Though Sinner was docked 400 ranking points and $250,000 dollars, he was found to bear 'no fault or negligence' after testing positive for clostebol in March.

Man United fans claim the 'game is gone' as they hit out at Lisandro Martinez for posting a picture with Alexis Mac Allister on Argentina duty just DAYS after Liverpool humbling
Manchester United defender Lisandro Martinez might not have chosen the best picture to post after arriving for international duty with Argentina. Martinez had a day to forget as United were swept aside by fierce rivals Liverpool in the Premier League on Sunday. The Reds ran out 3-0 winners thanks to a brace from Luis Diaz and a strike from Mo Salah and the margin could have been more. Top flight stars have now joined up with their countries for the international break and Martinez has incurred the wrath of some United supporters with a post on social media.

Manchester United's deputy football director, Andy O'Boyle, is set to leave the club after two-years in his position, according to reports. The Old Trafford-based side have been busy making changes both on and off the pitch throughout the summer as Sir Jim Ratcliffe's INEOS team took sporting control. O'Boyle was tasked with helping find ways to improve the men's, women's and academy teams at United, but will now leave the club in search of other opportunities, as reported by The Athletic.

US Open 2024: Taylor Fritz's stunning girlfriend Morgan Riddle watches on as American takes on Alexander Zverev after her Wimbledon beef with German rival
Taylor Fritz's influencer girlfriend Morgan Riddle attended his US Open quarterfinal showdown with Alexander Zverev on Tuesday - just two months on from her spat with the German at Wimbledon. Riddle, who has 18 million likes on TikTok, was at the center of controversy back in July after Zverev followed up his defeat to Fritz in London by complaining about the noise coming from his rival's box - which is where she was sat during the game.

MAN UNITED CONFIDENTIAL: Why Ten Hag's job is still in danger despite club backing, why Casemiro wasn't sold to Saudi Arabia and the new academy star who could solve the striker crisis
The public backing for Erik ten Hag by new Manchester United chief executive Omar Berrada and sporting director Dan Ashworth is consistent with the support given to the manager since Ineos extended his contract this summer. But it may come at a price. United have signed £200million-worth of new players – two of whom, Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui, worked under Ten Hag at Ajax – and tailored his backroom staff by bringing in Dutch assistants Ruud van Nistelrooy and Rene Hake, as well as goalkeeper coach Jelle ten Rouwelaar.

Ronald Koeman takes sharp dig at Liverpool star Ryan Gravenberch after journalist praises Dutch midfielder for his starring role in 3-0 drubbing of Man United
Netherlands manager Ronald Koeman has taken a fierce dig at Liverpool star Ryan Gravenberch despite the midfielder's starring role in his side's 3-0 drubbing of Manchester United. The Dutchman, who traded Bayern Munich for Anfield last summer, has made a blistering start in the Premier League this season. He has put in a string of dominant performances at the base of new boss Arne Slot's midfield and has played the full 90 minutes in each of the first three games.

UFC welterweight challenger Shavkat Rakhmonov backs Dana White to do the 'fair' thing if Conor McGregor ever returns to the octagon
UFC welterweight title contender Shavkat Rakhmonov is trusting the organisation to stick to their word and give him a championship shot ahead of Conor McGregor, if the Irishman ever makes his long-awaited return. McGregor has earned legendary status as one of UFC's most high-profile stars but hasn't fought since being beaten by Dustin Poirier three-years ago. The former multi-belt champion was set to fight again in June but was forced to pull out of his bout with Michael Chandler citing an injury that has required treatment.
