After being pulled from the Villa in Episode 30, the former islander's parents shared a statement on herInstagramaccount saying, "As Cierra's parents, this has been one of the most painful weeks of our lives. We've seen the posts, the headlines, the hurt and the hate. And while Cierra hasn't seen any of it yet, we have. And so have the people who love her. We're not here to justify or ignore what's surfaced. We understand why people are upset, and we know accountability matters. But what's happening online right now has gone far beyond that. The threats. The cruel messages. The attacks on her family, her friends, even her supporters, it's heartbreaking. It's uncalled for. And no one deserves that kind of hate, no matter what mistake they've made. While Cierra is not in the villa anymore, she is still away. She hasn't had the chance to process any of this or speak for herself. But we know our daughter. We know her heart. And when she returns, we believe she'll face this with honesty, growth, and grace. While she'll always be our little girl, she's also a woman, one who will take responsibility in her own time and her own voice. Until then, we're simply asking for compassion. For patience. For basic human decency. Not just for her, but for everyone caught in the middle of this. Thank you to those who've continued to show love, even when it's not easy. - With love, Her family" Love Island USA Season 7 airs at 9 p.m. ET / 8 p.m. CT Peacock and every night with the exception of Wednesdays. Adames has HR, 3 RBIs as Giants beat Athletics 6-2New Foto - Adames has HR, 3 RBIs as Giants beat Athletics 6-2

WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — Willy Adames homered and drew a pair of bases-loaded walks, and the San Francisco Giants beat the Athletics 6-2 on Sunday night. Tyler Fitzgerald also hit a solo homer, and Rafael Devers and Wilmer Flores each had two hits to help back an uneven but effective outing by San Francisco starter Hayden Birdsong. One night after setting a season high with four RBIs, Adames stayed hot at the plate to help the Giants take two of three from their former Bay Area rivals. Adames walked to force in a run in the first inning, hit a solo home run off A's starter Jacob Lopez leading off the fourth then walked again with the bases full in the fifth. It's the first time that a Giants shortstop has had three RBIs in consecutive games since Rich Aurilia in 2000. Tyler Soderstrom had two hits including his 15th home run for the A's. Birdsong (4-3) pitched around traffic most of the evening and didn't allow a run until Soderstrom's solo home run leading off the fourth. He had six strikeouts and overcame control problems to win for the first time since June 1. Spencer Bivens and All-Star reliever Randy Rodríguez each retired three batters. Camilo Doval allowed a run in the ninth before getting Jacob Wilson to ground out and complete the five-hitter. Lopez (2-5) allowed four runs and five hits in 4 1/3 innings. Key moment After issuing a bases-loaded walk on a checked-swing, Lopez retired the next eight batters including seven consecutive swinging strikeouts. Key stat Birdsong walked five batters, none of which scored. Up next Giants RHP Landen Roupp (6-5, 3.48 ERA) faces Phillies LHP Cristopher Sanchez (7-2, 2.68) on Monday. Athletics LHP Jeffrey Springs (6-6, 4.07) pitches against Braves RHP Didier Fuentes (0-2, 9.00) on Tuesday. ___ AP MLB:https://apnews.com/hub/MLB

Wimbledon 2025: Carlos Alcaraz withstands early onslaught from Andrey Rublev to win in 4 setsNew Foto - Wimbledon 2025: Carlos Alcaraz withstands early onslaught from Andrey Rublev to win in 4 sets

No. 2 men's seed Carlos Alcaraz withstood an early scare from No. 14 Andrey Rublev to continue his pursuit of a third consecutive Wimbledon title, winning in four sets Sunday 7-6 (5), 6-3, 6-4, 6-4. Rublev challenged Alcaraz from the start, running out to a 4-1 lead in the first set as the defending Wimbledon champion struggled to get into a rhythm. He had difficulty winning his serve while also committing several unforced errors. Alcaraz finally held serve to close within 4-2 and showed some emotion as he tried to fire himself up. Rublev then made an error at the net on an Alcaraz drop shot, giving him an opening to gain two points in the set. Alcaraz went on to win 11 of the next 12 points. Rublev appeared as if he might be running low on energy after a frenetic start, and that allowed Alcaraz to get back into the set. Alcaraz took a hard fall and lost his racket while reaching to return a serve, but wasn't injured. That almost seemed to be an answer to Rublev's early aggressiveness, doing everything he could to get back into the match and force a tiebreaker. Despite his own fall in the same corner after the two switched sides, Rublev was undeterred and went ahead 3-2 in the tiebreaker. Alcaraz showed his range by going deep in the corner to return two shots, but hit his next one into the net to fall behind 6-5. And at that point, the crowd came to life, sensing Rublev was about to win the first set. That feeling was affirmed when Alcaraz again went deep behind the baseline for a return, but hit it into the net to lose the tiebreaker, 7-5. Rublev won four of his six tiebreaking sets during this Wimbledon tournament. RUBLEV IS PUMPED!He takes the opening set 7-6(5) against Alcaraz 😮‍💨#Wimbledonpic.twitter.com/vJRAUvNoRf — Wimbledon (@Wimbledon)July 6, 2025 Yet anyone who thought Alcaraz might be shaken by losing that first set was quickly corrected. He took control with his serve in the second set and a forehand return seemed to surprise Rublev. After Rublev held serve to tie the set at 2-2, Alcaraz mixed in different tactics with his rocket serves and forehands, slicing balls down the line and feathering drop shots at the net. That had Rublev moving all over the court and curbed what was a successful aggressive approach. Tied at 3-3, Rublev double-faulted to allow Alcaraz to break serve. The Russian couldn't recover from there, frustrated he couldn't win his serve as Alcaraz held to get the final two points and win the second set. CARLOS ALCARAZ IS UNREAL 😱📺: ABCpic.twitter.com/qc0FxkBt4E — ESPN (@espn)July 6, 2025 The two began the third set going back and forth, but Alcaraz arguably won the point of the match by sliding on the grass toward the corner to return a cross-court shot that darted just out of Rublev's reach for a 4-3 lead. The crowd erupted at the amazing play from the two-time Wimbledon champion, and Alcaraz held his finger to his ear, asking for more. From there, Rublev played like he knew the set was lost and ready to start fresh. Perhaps the difference in the match was Rublev couldn't raise his play to another level when he had Alcaraz playing catch-up. Contrarily, Alcaraz seemed to get better as the match wore on, reaching to find an extra boost when he needed it. Rublev kept attempting to win his serve, aiming toward the lines to get Alcaraz chasing. But Alcaraz either got to the shots he wasn't able to get to earlier in the match, or Rublev wasn't quite as precise as when he started. The fourth set began with Alcaraz getting two aces, but Rublev didn't move further back to try to adjust to the serve. That may have been another difference as Alcaraz changed his approach and mixed up his shots as the match progressed. Those adjustments helped him recover from Rublev's early onslaught. Rublev came back to save three break points to stay alive. But Alcaraz broke his serve to go up 3-2. If there was one adjustment Rublev appeared to make, it was with his mental and emotional approach. During breaks in play, he looked like he was trying to calm down and not lose his composure as Alcaraz took control. Under those circumstances, Rublev wasn't just battling his opponent but himself as well. "It's just about belief"Carlos Alcaraz reflects on coming back from one set down against Andrey Rublev.#Wimbledonpic.twitter.com/1X8fW54TTC — Wimbledon (@Wimbledon)July 6, 2025 Three consecutive errors demonstrated Rublev lost that battle, despite the crowd trying to give him a lift. After eventually losing the fourth set, he quickly left the court like someone who knew he let an opportunity for a career-making win get away. Alcaraz praised Rublev's power in his on-court interview after the match. But he credited his own mental approach, saying, "It was just about belief," and not getting down after losing that first set. "Andrey is one of the most powerful, if not the most powerful player, that we have on tour," Alcaraz said. "Aggressive with that forehand, it's difficult to face him. He's pushing you to a limit, running side to side. But I was happy with the way I moved. I think I played intelligently, smart today." Alcaraz will face Cameron Norrie in the Wimbledon quarterfinals. The Brit could have the crowd on his side, especially after winning a thrilling five-set match over Chile's Nicolas Jarry 6-3, 7-6 (4), 6-7 (7), 6-7 (5), 6-3.

There are spoilers ahead. You might want to solvetoday's puzzlebefore reading further!Food Festival Lineup Constructor:Will Eisenberg Editor:Amanda Rafkin Will:This puzzle was originally titled "Combo Meal". I still like the title, but it does rely on the solver knowing that a band can also be called a 'combo', which is a little tricky. It was really fun to combine my love of music and food in one puzzle! I think the genesis of the theme was trying to get GOOEYBUTTERCAKE into a puzzle--a St. Louis specialty that I think is delicious enough to become a national hit. Happy birthday, Shannon! SUV (31A: Honda Prologue, e.g.) I know very little about cars, so although I recognized Honda and knew this was some sort of vehicle, I relied on crossing answers to let me know that the Honda Prologue is an SUV (sports utility vehicle). When I looked up the Honda Prologue, I discovered that it's an electric vehicle and it was first produced in 2024. KIA (40A: ___ ora (Maori greeting)) Māori is the language of the Māori people, the indigenous people of mainland New Zealand. KIA ora is a Māori greeting that has a literal translation of "have life" or "be healthy." SET (42A: Spot for many scenes in "The Studio")The Studiois an Apple TV+ series that premiered in March of this year. The series is a satire of the movie industry. Seth Rogen stars as the head of a Hollywood studio who is struggling to balance corporate demands with his desire to make quality films. Since the series is about the movie industry, many scenes occur on SET. OWL (11A: Duolingo's mascot, for one) Duolingo is a language teaching app whose mascot is a green cartoon OWL named Duo Keyshauna Renee Lingo, commonly known as Duo. In February of this year, as a publicity stunt, Duolingo announced that Duo had been hit by a Tesla Cybertruck and had died. Duolingo challenged users of the app to work together to reach a goal and resurrect Duo. Once the goal was met,Duo was resurrected. LIME (21A: Kaffir ___ leaves (ingredients in Thai cuisine)) Kaffir LIME is a citrus fruit native to Southeast Asia. The crushed leaves, which are used in Thai cuisine (as the clue notes) give off an intense citrus fragrance. KOALA (22A: Eucalyptus eater) The KOALA is native to Australia and is mostly found in woodlands where its diet consists of the leaves of eucalyptus trees. Although there are over 600 types of eucalyptus trees, the KOALA is particular, and will only feast on about 30 of those species. SOONER (24A: University of Oklahoma athlete) SOONER was a name given to a settler who entered what is now the state of Oklahoma before the official start of the Oklahoma Land Rush of 1889. The word had a negative connotation when it was originally used, but it has come to be used as a demonym for people living in Oklahoma. The University of Oklahoma, located in Norman, adopted the nickname SOONERs for their athletic teams. PEAS (48A: Aloo mutter veggies) Aloo mutter is a dish that consists of potatoes and PEAS in tomato gravy. GOOEY BUTTER CAKE (55A: Signature St. Louis dessert)GOOEY BUTTER CAKEoriginated in St. Louis Missouri in the 1930s or 1940s (the origin is contested). The name appropriately describes this rich, decadent dessert. I must say that GOOEY BUTTER CAKE is delicious. My husband is especially fond of it. ALEX (2D: Alternative to Xander) ALEX and Xander are nicknames for Alexander. TACO (4D: Bit of food truck fare) This feels like a bonus answer. What would a festival be without a TACO truck? ASH (5D: Ketchum who became a Pokemon World Champion in 2022) ASH Ketchum was the protagonist of thePokémonanime series for its first 25 seasons. Pikachu was his first Pokémon. ASH became a Pokémon World Champion inPokémon Ultimate Journeys: The Series. SKELETON KEY (6D: It'll open many doors for you) This is a fun clue! A SKELETON KEY is a type of master KEY that will literally open many doors. CHAMP (7D: Victor, for short) My first thought here was VIC, particularly following the ALEX / Xander clue. However, Victor here is not a name, but a synonym of champion – CHAMP, for short. RUNE (8D: Character on a fantasy map) A RUNE is a character used in Germanic alphabets from the third to the thirteenth centuries. Many fantasy maps feature RUNEs. CUCKOO (10D: Bird that doesn't raise its own young) Some CUCKOO species are brood parasites, which means they lay their eggs in the nests of other birds, leaving the eggs for the other birds to take care of. PELE (54D: Brazilian soccer legend) PELÉ (1940-2022) is considered one of the greatest soccer players of all time. During his career, PELÉ averaged a goal per game. PEACHES AND CREAM (17A: Southern summer dessert) GLUTEN-FREE BREAD (36A: Celiac-friendly loaf) GOOEY BUTTER CAKE (55A: Signature St. Louis dessert) FOOD FESTIVAL LINEUP: Each theme answer is a FOOD item in which the last word is the name of a band: CREAM, BREAD, and CAKE. In today's crossword FESTIVAL, the bands CREAM, BREAD, and CAKE are the headliners. Sounds delicious! Unfortunately, this LINEUP is only going to happen in a crossword, as these bands were not all active at the same time. It is nice that we have multiple decades represented: CREAM from the 1960s, BREAD from the 1970s, and CAKE from the 1990s to the present. CAKE is the only one of these bands that is still active. I enjoyed the combination of food and music in this theme. Thank you, Will, for this enjoyable puzzle. Beloved '80s Actress Disappeared from Hollywood for 20 Years — 'I Was a Star'New Foto - Beloved '80s Actress Disappeared from Hollywood for 20 Years — 'I Was a Star'

Beloved '80s Actress Disappeared from Hollywood for 20 Years — 'I Was a Star'originally appeared onParade. One of the most recognized faces in movie history suddenly vanished from Hollywood in 2002 after more than 30 years in the spotlight. After starring in iconic films likeThe ShiningandPopeye,Shelley Duvallstepped away from the film industry to pursue a quieter life. At the time, Duvall reportedly cited her brother's spinal cancer diagnosis as one reason for moving away, choosing to live in Texas to be closer to her family. The beloved actress remained out of the mainstream media for nearly two decades, but when she returned, she opened up about what had really been going on behind the scenes. "You didn't get paid much—just scale plus 10 percent," she toldPEOPLEin 2023. "They thought women would just marry and the husband's going to support them. But that doesn't happen for everybody." In 2024, Duvall spoke even more candidly about how public scrutiny affected her over the years. "I was a star; I had leading roles," she toldThe New York Times. "People think it's just aging, but it's not. It's violence." She had long been the target of cruel comments about her appearance, even before she stepped away from the spotlight. "How would you feel if people were really nice, and then, suddenly, on a dime" -- she snapped her fingers -- "they turn on you? You would never believe it unless it happens to you. That's why you get hurt, because you can't really believe it's true," she explained. Despite a career filled with memorable roles, Duvall's time in the industry came with a heavy personal cost. While filmingStanley Kubrick'sThe Shining, she was subjected to grueling conditions on set. Kubrick reportedly isolated her and forced her to endure exhausting takes — most infamously, the iconic baseball bat scene, which she had to film 127 times. "Stanley pushed me very hard, and the psychological abuse was extreme. I cried for hours every day. It was exhausting," she recalled in a 2016Dr. Philinterview. Still, Duvall never regretted the experience. "I wouldn't trade the experience for anything. Why? Because of Stanley. It was a fascinating learning experience—such intense work that I think it makes you smarter. But I wouldn't want to go through it again." AfterThe Shining, she continued acting in the '80s, appearing in films likePopeyealongsideRobin WilliamsandTime BanditsbyTerry Gilliam. She also branched into television, with roles inL.A. Law,Frasier, Aaahh!!! Real MonstersandWishbone. Though she retired in 2002, Duvall always dreamed of returning to the screen. That wish came true in 2023 when she starred in the indie horror filmThe Forest Hills— her first movie in over 20 years. In that same PEOPLE interview, she expressed hope for her future in acting. "[Jessica Tandy] won an Oscar when she was 80. I can still win," she said. Sadly, Duvall passed away the following year, on July 11, 2024, due to complications from diabetes. Judge's 33rd homer, double play started by Bellinger leads Yankees over Mets, stopping 6-game slideNew Foto - Judge's 33rd homer, double play started by Bellinger leads Yankees over Mets, stopping 6-game slide

NEW YORK (AP) — Aaron Judge hit his 33rd home run, left fielder Cody Bellinger started a pivotal double play and the New York Yankees stopped a six-game losing streak by beating the Mets 6-4 Sunday to avoid a weekend Subway Series sweep. All-Star Max Fried (11-2) improved to 9-1 in 12 starts after Yankees losses after Judge staked him to a 5-0 lead with a two-run homer in the fifth off Brandon Waddell, part of Judge's three-RBI day. After Judge's sacrifice fly restored a two-run lead in the seventh, Juan Soto hit a sinking drive that Bellinger scooped with a shoestring catch that had 30% possibility. Bellinger made a 89.9 mph throw to first baseman Paul Goldschmidt that doubled up Francisco Lindor, who didn't slide. That was the second of three double plays in consecutive innings by a Yankees defense that has been shaky of late. Hayden Senger grounded into a double play with the bases loaded in the sixth, and Judge followed with a tumbling catch on Starling Marte's liner. Goldschmidt turned an unassisted double play in the eighth, gloving Brett Baty's hard grounder, tagging Ronny Mauricio and stepping on first base. The Yankees, who tumbled from the AL East lead by losing 16 of 22 games, had matched their longest losing streak. They stopped the Mets' four-game winning streak. Austin Wells homered in the third off Zach Pop (0-1), who made his Mets debut. Francisco Lindor hit a two-run single in the fifth off Fried (11-2). Devin Williams pitched a perfect ninth for his 12th save in 13 chances. Mets manager Carlos Mendoza was ejected by plate umpire John Bacon after a pair of called strikes on Luis Torrens starting the inning, the first that appeared to be outside and the second that seemed low. The game ended when Lindor couldn't check his swing on a strikeout with Soto on deck. Mendoza was ejected for the second time this season, both in a nine-day span. Key Moments After Lindor's hit, Fried struck out Soto and retired Pete Alonso on a deep flyout. Key Stat Judge has 11 first-pitch homers, equaling a career high. Up Next Yankees: Rookie Will Warren (5-4, 5.02 ERA) opposes visiting Seattle and RHP Logan Gilbert (2-2, 3.40) on Tuesday nught. LOS ANGELES (AP) — Christian Walker, Yainer Diaz and Jose Altuve each homered, Ryan Gusto threw six strong innings, and the Houston Astros beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 5-1 on Sunday to complete their first three-game sweep at Dodger Stadium since May 9-11, 2008. The Astros scored the go-ahead run in the sixth when No. 9 batter Zack Short capped an eight-pitch at-bat by drawing a two-out bases-loaded walk off reliever Will Klein (1-1) for a 2-1 lead. Walker and Diaz opened the eighth with homers off Dodgers closer Tanner Scott for a 4-1 lead, and Altuve added a solo shot in the ninth off Anthony Banda, as the Astros improved to a major league-best 24-8 since June 1. Gusto (6-3) wasn't dominant, allowing one run and four hits and striking out one, but he held the top four Dodgers batters — Shohei Ohtani, Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman and Andy Pages — to two singles in 12 at-bats. Bennett Sousa, Bryan King and Bryan Abreu each threw scoreless innings of relief for Houston. The Dodgers took a 1-0 lead in the second, an inning that began with Michael Conforto's walk and Hyeseong Kim's single. Conforto took third on Miguel Rojas' double play grounder and scored on Dalton Rushing's RBI double. Houston tied the score 1-1 in the third when Short singled, took third on Isaac Paredes' double and scored on Altuve's sacrifice fly, a ball that Dodgers right fielder Esteury Ruiz caught while leaping into the screen in foul territory. Dodgers right-hander Emmet Sheehan, recalled from Triple-A to make his second big-league start in his return from Tommy John surgery, gave up one run and five hits in five innings, striking out four and walking one. Key moment The Dodgers threatened off reliever King in the eighth when Rushing singled and took second on Betts' two-out single, but Astros center fielder Taylor Trammell, who entered for defensive purposes in the sixth, raced in to make a sliding catch of Freeman's 104-mph liner to preserve a 4-1 lead. Key stat Walker, who entered with a major league-best 1.203 career OPS in Dodger Stadium, is batting .349 (53 for 152) with 21 homers and 38 RBIs in 45 games in Chavez Ravine.
