Taylor Fritz credits girlfriend Morgan Riddle after Wimbledon win sends him to semifinalNew Foto - Taylor Fritz credits girlfriend Morgan Riddle after Wimbledon win sends him to semifinal

LONDON (AP) — Morgan knows best, apparently. Taylor Fritz thought the motivational note he wrote to himself after losing atWimbledonfour years ago would stay private. His girlfriend, influencer Morgan Riddle, later shared it on social media. "That note was never supposed to be public," a smiling Fritz said after his 6-3, 6-4, 1-6, 7-6 (4) win over Karen Khachanov set up a semifinal meeting with two-time defending champion Carlos Alcaraz. Fritz had written to himself in the note that "nobody in the whole world is underachieving harder than you" and urged himself to get his act together. Not only does Fritz forgive Riddle, he also credits her for having such a big impact on him rising to No. 5 in the world rankings in pursuit of his first Grand Slam title. "There's been a pretty constant results-and-ranking rise since we've been together," Fritz said. "I think I would have to say she's been a big help to me just kind of keeping me focused, having someone who cares and just pushes you to just do better and do the right things, be healthier. "Almost like kind of just mother me in a way," he added, chuckling to himself, "with like, the diet and going to sleep on time." A smiling Fritz later added: "Yeah, that maybe wasn't the best choice of words." The 27-year-old American, who wasthe runner-up at last year's U.S. Open, didn't face a break point in the first two sets against No. 17 Khachanov, who rebounded in the third set. It was 4-all in the fourth-set tiebreaker before Fritz claimed the final three points on Court No. 1. It's the first time Fritz has reached the last four at Wimbledon. He's won two grass-court titles this season — Stuttgart and Eastbourne — and was happy he wouldn't be facing Alcaraz on clay, which would be "an absolute nightmare." "Grass is very much so an equalizer. It can be an equalizer. So trust in how I'm playing," he said. "I truly know the way that I played the first two sets today, there's not much any opponent on the other side can do." Alcaraz: Golf first, then Fritz The second-seeded Alcaraz is within sight of a Wimbledon three-peat. Heextended his winning streak to 23 matchesthis season by beating Cameron Norrie 6-2, 6-3, 6-3 on Centre Court. Alcaraz, who has beaten Novak Djokovic in the past two finals at the All England Club, faced only five break points and saved all of them. He wants to hit some other greens, though, before he faces Fritz "For sure I'm going to play some golf, just to switch up my mind a little bit," Alcaraz said The 22-year-old Spaniard has been playing golf with Andy Murray during his Wimbledon run. This time, his opponent could be actorTom Holland, whom he had run into earlier. "I would love to play against him in the golf course. For me it would be such an honor. I will try to set it up in these two days that I will have much time to do it. So let's see if he will be available, and we'll tee it up." ___ AP tennis:https://apnews.com/hub/tennis

Latest 'Tiger King' twist finds 'Doc' Antle sentenced to 1 year in prison for animal traffickingNew Foto - Latest 'Tiger King' twist finds 'Doc' Antle sentenced to 1 year in prison for animal trafficking

"Tiger King" star Bhagavan "Doc" Antle was sentenced on Tuesday to one year and a day in federal prison and fined $55,000 for trafficking in exotic animals and money laundering afterpleading guiltyin November 2023. Antle'sfate was resolvedin a federal courtroom in Charleston, South Carolina, five years after the true crime documentary "Tiger King" captivated a country shut down by COVID-19. Three others who pleaded guilty in his investigation received either probation or a four-month prison sentence. Antle's sentence is the final true-life chapter of the Tiger King saga. The Netflix series debuted in March 2020 near the peak of COVID-19 restrictions. The show centered on dealers and conservationists of big cats, focusing on disputes between Joe Exotic, a collector and private zookeeper from Oklahoma, and Carole Baskin, who runs Big Cat Rescue in Florida. Exotic, whose real name is Joseph Maldonado-Passage, is serving a 21-yearfederal prison sentencefor trying to hire two different men to kill Baskin. Antle, who owns a private zoo called Myrtle Beach Safari, appeared in the first season of the documentary and was the star of the third season. Antle's zoo was known for charging hundreds or thousands of dollars to let people pet and hold baby animals like lions, tigers and monkeys that were so young they were still being bottle-fed. Customers could have photos or videos made. Antle would sometimes ride into tours on an elephant. Myrtle Beach Safari remains open by reservation only, according to its website. Antle had remained out on bail since his arrest in June 2022. Antle's federal charges were brought after the "Tiger King" series. Prosecutors said he sold or bought cheetahs, lions, tigers and a chimpanzee without the proper paperwork. And they said in a separate scheme, Antle laundered more than $500,000 that an informant told him was being used to get people into the U.S. illegally to work. Antle was used to having large amounts of money he could move around quickly, investigators said. The FBI was listening to Antle's phone calls with the informant as he explained a baby chimpanzee could easily cost $200,000. Private zookeepers can charge hundreds of dollars for photos with docile young primates or other animals, but the profit window is only open for a few years before the growing animals can no longer be safely handled. "I had to get a monkey, but the people won't take a check. They only take cash. So what do you do?" Antle said according to a transcript of the phone call in court papers. Two of Antle's employees have already been sentenced for their roles in his schemes. Meredith Bybee was given a year of probation for selling a chimpanzee while Andrew "Omar" Sawyer, who prosecutors said helped Antle launder money, was given two years of probation. Jason Clay, a Texas private zoo owner, pleaded guilty to illegally selling a primate and was sentenced to four months in prison, while charges were dropped against California ranch owner Charles Sammut. Antle was alsoconvicted in 2023in a Virginia court of four counts of wildlife trafficking over sales of lions and was sentenced to two years of prison suspended "upon five years of good behavior." Anappeals courtoverturned two of the convictions, ruling that Virginia law bans the sale of endangered species but not their purchase. Antle was found not guilty of five counts of animal cruelty at that same Virginia trial. For more CNN news and newsletters create an account atCNN.com

Scott Frost rips his bad Nebraska stint after returning to UCF: 'It wasn't a good move'New Foto - Scott Frost rips his bad Nebraska stint after returning to UCF: 'It wasn't a good move'

Scott Frost is thrilled to be back atUCF, and he's not holding back in describing how bad of a run he had working for his alma mater. Frost, whoreceived a five-year deal to return and lead the Knightsin December, ripped his time at Nebraska on Tuesday at the Big 12's media days. Frost, who was fired fromNebraskajust three games into the 2022 campaign, said there was one very clear thing he learned from his time with the Cornhuskers. "Don't take the wrong job," he said, viaThe Athletic's Chris Vannini. Frost was hired at Nebraska, where he played and went to school, in 2018 after two dominant seasons at UCF — including one where they went 13-0 two years after a winless season. Frost, however, struggled in Lincoln. The Cornhuskers never had a winning season under his watch and had back-to-back three-win campaigns. Frost was then fired early during the 2022 season. In total, he went 16-31 there. Nebraska has since hired Matt Rhule to replace him. Rhule got the Cornhuskers to their first bowl game in eight years last season. The jump to Nebraska for Frost seemed like the perfect fit at the time, at least on paper. UCF was still in the American Athletic Conference — it joined the Big 12 in 2023 — so moving to the Big Ten was a significant step up. He had significant connections at the school, and was its quarterback during Nebraska's national championship season in 1997. Now, looking back, Frost said he was forced into the job. "I said I wouldn't leave [UCF] unless it was someplace you could win a national championship," Frost said. "I got tugged in a direction to try to help my alma mater and didn't really want to do it. It wasn't a good move. I'm lucky to get back to a place where I was a lot happier." Frost is now tasked with bringing the Knights' program back after a rough campaign last fall. He'll take over for Gus Malzahn, wholeft in November to become the offensive coordinator at Florida State. The Knights went 4-8 last season and 2-7 in Big 12 play while failing to reach a bowl game for the first time since 2015.

Fox News' Jacqui Heinrich Gets Engaged to Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick in Lavender Field in Provence (Exclusive)New Foto - Fox News' Jacqui Heinrich Gets Engaged to Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick in Lavender Field in Provence (Exclusive)

Eny Thérèse Fox News senior White House correspondent Jacqui Heinrich is engaged to republican Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick The journalist tells PEOPLE that Fitzpatrick proposed in the middle of a lavender field in Valensole, France, on June 29 "It's a memory that will be seared into my brain for life. It felt like a fairy tale," she says of the proposal Fox News' Jacqui Heinrich is engaged. The 36-year-old senior White House correspondent said "yes" to republican Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick in a romantic proposal in France, on June 29. Heinrich tells PEOPLE that the Pennsylvania congressman, 51, popped the question at sunrise in the middle of a lavender field in Valensole, a picturesque hilltop town in Provence. Heinrich says the seeds for Fitzpatrick's proposal plan were first planted last year, when she revealed in aBoston Globeinterview that it was her long-held dream to take a trip to the French Riviera "to eat the baguettes, see the lavender fields, drink the wine and eat the butter." Fitzpatrick "paid attention," and booked a trip to France as a birthday present for Heinrich. "He said, 'I'm going to take you this summer to the South of France,' " she recalls. Eny Thérèse While the couple had an ambitious itinerary of "bucket list" sights they wanted to hit, they knew their long-awaited trip was likely to be cut short at any moment due to Fitzpatrick needing to fly back to Washington, D.C., for the signing of The One Big Beautiful Bill. In light of this, Heinrich asked Fitzpatrick if he wanted to postpone the getaway — and that's when she got her first inkling that he had something more up his sleeve. "He was like, 'We are going. We're going to the lavender fields. All I want is to see the lavender fields at sunrise,' " she recounts, joking, "All the time I've known this man, he has never been desperate to see a field of flowers at dawn. So I had a feeling that [a proposal] was a goal." After first arriving in Nice, the couple left at 1:30 in the morning on Sunday, June 29, and drove more than two hours to Valensole so they could be there before dawn. At one point, Fitzpatrick slammed on the brakes and said to Heinrich, "Alright, this field looks good. Why don't you walk out into that field and I'll take some pictures of you." Eny Thérèse As she strolled, taking in the seemingly endless purple landscape, a photographer suddenly popped up from within the rows of lavender, and a drone flew overhead, ready to capture the moment. Fitzpatrick asked Heinrich to marry him, presenting a ring he selected from the journalist's long-time family jeweler in Portland, Maine. The sparkler features a brilliant-cut round diamond solitaire on a six-prong platinum setting with a yellow gold band. "He didn't ask for any help from me or anyone I know. So I was really surprised he got it spot-on. What I could have asked for, dreamed up myself, he did without even asking," Heinrich, who joined Fox News in September 2018 and also serves as co-host ofThe FOX News Rundownpodcast, says. "It's really beautiful," she says, adding of the proposal: "Brian did such an amazing job. I'm so impressed with him." Eny Thérèse "It was so breathtaking," she adds of the setting amid the lavender blooms. "The smell was just so fragrant. It's a memory that will be seared into my brain for life. It's hard to even put into words just how gorgeous it really was. It felt like a fairy tale." To celebrate the moment, Heinrich and Fitzpatrick waited for a coffee shop to open and enjoyed an espresso together. The couple then decided to make the most of their time — they ultimately had just under 48 hours in France before Fitzpatrick had to head back to D.C. — and drove to St. Tropez, where they had brunch at the Byblos Beach Club. From there, they went on to Cannes. "In less than 48 hours, we saw all of the cities we wanted to see during the whole 10 days we were supposed to be there," Heinrich says. "It was honestly so memorable. I'll never forget it." Eny Thérèse They shared the big news with family and friends later that day. Heinrich's dad was already in on the secret, as Fitzpatrick had flown to New Hampshire to ask for his blessing ahead of the proposal. "My dad teared up on the phone," she recalls. Fitzpatrick's parents, who are in their 90s, were "so overjoyed." Heinrich tells PEOPLE she recently bought a new house, so the couple plans to throw a joint housewarming and engagement party soon. Reflecting on what she loves most about Fitzpatrick — a former FBI special agent and federal prosecutor who was reelected to his fifth congressional term in 2024 — Heinrich tells PEOPLE that he is "the most principled, thoughtful and brilliant person I know." "I love his brain," she continues. "I love the way he approaches problem-solving and solving complex issues. He's strong and a man of faith, who brings me closer to God. He's sweet and gentle and kind — all of the easy qualities in a person that just make him a joy to be around and life brighter." Eny Thérèse In their rare downtime, the couple — whose first date was attending the Kennedy Center Honors in 2021 — enjoy visiting family and traveling. "We love to see different cultural sights and experience the rest of the world because we're both pretty dialed into what's happening in Washington all the time with our jobs," Heinrich notes. LeAnn Rimes addresses 'craziness' of Eddie Cibrian affair: 'This is not all my pain'New Foto - LeAnn Rimes addresses 'craziness' of Eddie Cibrian affair: 'This is not all my pain'

LeAnn Rimesis addressing an infamous elephant in the room: her affair with actor, and now-husband,Eddie Cibrian. Inan interview with Flow Space, Rimes recounted the fallout from the affair, which began on set ofthe 2009 Lifetime movie "Northern Lights,"when the pair fell for each other although they were both married to other people. "I realized very quickly that there are a lot of women who've been hurt. Like, I've been on both sides of that coin – I've been cheated on, too, so I know that feeling," Rimes said. "But so many women don't know what to do with that anger. … I was a target that was just easily projected upon." LeAnn Rimes says she 'panicked' afterteeth fell out onstage At the time, Cibrian was married to"Real Housewives of Beverly Hills"alumBrandi Glanvillewhile Rimes was married to celebrated chefDean Sheremet. Cibrian and Glanville share two sons, Mason and Jake. Rimes said that "once I realized that, things got a lot easier. Instead of taking it so personally, it's like, look: This is not all my pain to carry." She added that "I know what I'm responsible for in the situation and making amends for that. But you know, the world's pain is not mine to carry, and I think that really got thrown at me for a long time." Glanville spoke openly about the end of her marriage on Bravo's "RHOBH." The"Can't Fight The Moonlight"singer and former child star also referred to the emotional work she had to do after facing harsh media coverage, from tabloid fodder to internet furor towards the pair, during "all of the craziness we went through." "Starting as a child star (I had) all this protection," Rimes points out. "But it was like, if I want to live a fulfilling life, I've got to learn how to let that guard down. To me, it was either I was going to die, or I had to confront it. It was complete survival." These days though, Rimes has gotten better with age: "You cannot pay me to go back to my 20s – just, no thank you. I'll take the wrinkles," telling Flow Space that "I felt very alone in this world for a long time. I don't necessarily feel that way anymore, … I don't feel like I'm ever in hiding."
