Prime Videowill have many familiar faces along with some new voices when it begins its first season of NBA coverage in October. Kevin Harlan, Ian Eagle and Stan Van Gundy are coming over from TNT while Cassidy Hubbarth is coming from ESPN. Harlan and Van Gundy were part of TNT's crew for its final NBA game on May 31, when the Indiana Pacers defeated the New York Knicks in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference finals. Harlan was with TNT since 1996 while Van Gundy returned to being an analyst in 2021 after being fired as New Orleans' coach. Eagle, who has called Nets games since 1996, began doing national games for TNT in 2010. Prime Video will not have set announcing pairings or name an "A" or "B" team, but Eagle is likely to be the voice for the top games, including a conference finals series in 2027. He's also been the lead voice for CBS coverage of the men's NCAA Tournament the last two years. "We're not in a situation where we have like a single game of the week. We have two big games every week and more after the NFL season ends," said Jared Stacy, Prime Video's head of production. "So we're always going to sort of be living in this doubleheader world and we're treating every game like a big game. We like the ability to be flexible and try out different combinations as we go." Hubbarth not only worked games as a sideline reporter for ESPN, but served as a guest host on the network's NBA studio shows and also hosted the digital series "Hoop Streams." Prime Video also announced the additions of play-by-play announcers Michael Grady and Eric Collins, analysts Brent Barry and Dell Curry, and Allie Clifton and Kristina Pink as sideline reporters. Collins and Curry have called Charlotte Hornets games together since 2015. Barry, a former TNT analyst, returns to broadcasting for the first time since 2018 after roles with the San Antonio Spurs and Phoenix Suns. Grady has been the Minnesota Timberwolves TV voice since 2022. Pink has done sideline reporting for LA Clippers games as well as Fox Sports NFL coverage while Clifton has been part of the Los Angeles Lakers broadcasts since 2018 after being the Cleveland Cavaliers sideline reporter from 2012 through '18. "I think you see that with a lot of the people we announced today there are familiar voices but we've got front office experience, coaching experience and Hall of Fame playing experience on this roster. I think it's a really good, well-rounded group of people who are excited to build something from the ground up," Stacy said. "I think it's one of the reasons we've been successful on Thursday night is everybody's enjoyed building what 'Thursday Night Football' has become. And I think you're going to see the same kind of passion from this group here." Prime Video previously announced Taylor Rooks will host studio coverage with Blake Griffin, Dirk Nowitzki and Udonis Haslem as analysts. Steve Nash, Dwyane Wade and Candace Parker will be game and studio analysts. Prime Video's NBA coverage begins on Oct. 24 with a Friday night doubleheader. The 11-year agreement includes 66 regular-season games, including a doubleheader on Thursday nights after the NFL's regular season is over. It also includes all six NBA Play-In Tournament games, about one-third of the games in the first two rounds of the playoffs and the knockout rounds of the NBA Cup in-season tournament. It will also carry one of the conference finals series for six seasons. ___ AP NBA:https://apnews.com/hub/nba

NHL trade tracker: Stars trade Matt Dumba to Penguins, plus other movesNew Foto - NHL trade tracker: Stars trade Matt Dumba to Penguins, plus other moves

Most of theNHL'stop free agentshavenew contracts. But there are also trades to be made as NHL teams acquire or move players to improve their immediate future or get their salary cap situation under control. TheDallas StarsandPittsburgh Penguinspulled off the latest deal on July 10, with veteran defenseman Matt Dumba and a draft pick heading to Pittsburgh for defenseman Vladislav Kolyachonok. TheNew York RangersandCarolina Hurricanespulled off the biggest trade of July 1 with Carolina acquiring defenseman K'Andre Miller and signing him to an eight-year contract. TheToronto Maple LeafsandVegas Golden Knightsalso made a major deal on June 30, sendingMitch Marner to Vegas, which signed him to an eight-year, $96 million deal,. The Golden Knights sent forward Nicolas Roy to the Maple Leafs. Tracking the latest trades from the NHL offseason: This deal helps the Stars' cap situation because Dumba makes $3.75 million and is in the final year of his contract. They also send a 2028 second-round pick to Pittsburgh.According to PuckPedia, the Stars now have about $2 million in cap space. Dumba, 30, had only 10 points last season, but did have 70 hits and 60 penalty minutes. Kolyachonok, 24, who makes $775,000, had seven points in 35 games between the Penguins and Mammoth last season. The Oilers acquired the rights to Michigan State forward Isaac Howard from the Lightning and signed him to a three-year entry-level contract in a trade of prospects. Howard was the No. 31 overall pick of the 2022 NHL Draft. He had 26 goals and 26 assists in 37 games last season to win the Hobey Baker Award as top men's college hockey player. He's considered NHL-ready and could play alongside Connor McDavid or Leon Draisaitl. Edmonton sent forward Sam O'Reilly, the 32nd overall pick in the 2024 NHL Draft, to the Lightning in the trade. He helped the London (Ontario) Knights win the 2025 Memorial Cup title and reach the final in 2024. The Hurricanes landed 25-year-old defenseman Miller and gave up defenseman Scott Morrow, 22, a conditional first-round pick and a 2026 second-rounder. Carolina signed Miller to an eight-year deal with a $7.5 million cap hit. Trading Miller gave the Rangers the cap space to sign Vladislav Gavrikov, the top defenseman in the free agent class. The Hurricanes were changing up their blue line with veterans Dmitry Orlov and Brent Burns hitting free agency. The Hurricanes also signed free agent defenseman Mike Reilly. Nedeljkovic is entering the final year of his contract and he struggled this past season with a 3.12 goals-against average and .894 save percentage. He and Yaroslav Askarov could split time in San Jose. The forward is returning after previously playing in Chicago for parts of two seasons. He struggled in Buffalo with seven points in 60 games. The Sabres get a 2026 sixth-round pick in return. The Bruins acquire forward Viktor Arvidsson from the Oilers for a 2027 fifth-round draft pick, Arvidsson had signed a two-year deal with Edmonton last season and did not work out. He was in and out of the lineup in the playoffs. But he did score 26 goals two seasons ago and could fill a middle-six role in Boston. Edmonton saves $4 million in cap space. The Canadiens acquire forward Zachary Bolduc for defenseman Logan Mailloux. Bolduc adds secondary scoring after scoring 19 goals and 36 points in his first full season. Mailloux, who was taken in the first round of the 2021 draft despiteasking not to be drafted, has played eight NHL games. The Canadiens recently acquired Noah Dobson, who fills the role of offensive defenseman. The sign-and-trade deal allows Marner to sign an eight-year deal and lands them the top free agent in the 2025 class. Toronto was going to lose Marner for nothing in free agency, so they did well to get a roster player. Roy is signed through 2027 at a $3 million cap hit. Tarasenko has won two Stanley Cup titles, but he disappointed with 33 points in his lone season in Detroit, while averaging less than 15 minutes a game. He has another year on his contract at $4.75 million, so the Wild get secondary scoring at a reasonable price. Detroit gets future considerations in the deal. The Mammoth get a conditional 2027 third round pick in return. Maccelli, 24, gets a fresh start after dropping to 18 points in 55 games this past season. But he can provide secondary scoring for Toronto after totaling 106 points over the two seasons before that. If he gets 51 points this season and the Maple Leafs make the playoffs, the third rounder becomes a 2029 second-round pick. TheNashville Predatorsacquire defenseman Nicolas Hague and a conditional third-round pick from the Golden Knights in exchange for forward Colton Sissons and defenseman Jeremy Lauzon. Nashville will retain 50% of Sissons' salary. If Vegas wins two rounds in the 2026 playoffs, the Golden Knights will move a second-round pick instead. The Detroit Red Wings acquire goalie John Gibson from the Anaheim Ducks for goalie Petr Mrazek, a 2027 second- round pick and a 2026 fourth-round pick. Gibson had been mentioned in trade rumors for years and the Red Wings have needed better goaltending for years. Lukas Dostal has emerged as a No. 1 goalie in Anaheim and needs a new contract as a restricted free agent. Mrazek is a better fit financially at $4.25 million than Gibson at $6.4 million. Gibson, who will get more playing time in Detroit, had a solid season with a 2.77 goals-against average and .911 save percentage, a little better than how Cam Talbot and Alex Lyon performed. Spence's ice time had dropped, particularly in the playoffs, so the trade gives him more opportunity. The defenseman is only 24. Los Angeles had drafted a defenseman, London's Henry Brzustewicz, in the first round. The Kings receive a 2025 third round pick and a 2026 sixth-rounder. TheBuffalo Sabresacquire defensemen Conor Timmins and Isaac Belliveau from thePittsburgh Penguinsfor defenseman Connor Clifton and a 2025 second-round pick.. The Sabres are changing up their defense after earlier acquiring Michael Kesselring. Clifton is entering the final year of his contract. Timmins is four years younger. Also:The Washington Capitals acquire defenseman Declan Chisholm and a 2025 sixth-round pick from theMinnesota Wildfor defenseman Chase Priskie and a 2025 third-rounder. The Avalanche get back 20-year-old forward Gavin Brindley, a third-round selection (77th overall) in the 2025 NHL Draft and a conditional 2027 second-rounder. This move helps the Blue Jackets' depth. Wood has a lot of speed and kills penalties. Coyle, acquired by the Avalanche at the trade deadline, had 25 goals two seasons ago. The Avalanche clear cap space. Dobson, a restricted free agent, signed an eight-year, $76 million extension as part of the deal, according to Friedman. Dobson, a skilled offensive defenseman, had 70 points two seasons ago and joins a Montreal blue line that featuresrookie of the year Lane Hutson. Islanders general manager Mathieu Darche gets two picks in the middle of the first round. Could he use the 16th and 17th picks as part of a package to move up in the draft? He didn't, drafting Victor Eklund and Kashawn Aitcheson. Heineman, whom the Islanders acquired from the Canadiens as part of the deal, is known for his speed and two-way ability. The Utah Mammoth will be aggressive this offseason as they head into their second season in Salt Lake City. Peterka is coming off a career-best 68 points and totaled 55 goals the past two seasons. The 23-year-old was a restricted free agent and signed a five-year deal with the Mammoth after the trade. The Sabres, who need to adjust their roster to try to end a14-season playoff drought, get back defenseman Michael Kesselring and forward Josh Doan. Kesselring, 25, had a career-best 29 points as he got more ice time because of injuries on the Utah blue line. Doan, 23, is the son of former Arizona Coyotes captain Shane Doan. He has another year left on his contract. The Panthers give up a 2025 fifth-round pick for Tarasov, 26, a restricted free agent who became available with Jet Greaves emerging in Columbus. Current backup Vitek Vanecek is a pending unrestricted free agent. Tarasov has a career 3.44 goals-against average but those numbers should come down while playing behind a better Panthers defense. Sergei Bobrovsky will be 37 next season and has a year left on his contract. General Bill Zito potentially has found his future No. 1 goalie. Also:The Seattle Kraken acquired two-way center Frederick Gaudreau from theMinnesota Wildfor a 2025 fourth-round pick. ... In a free agency move, theDallas Starsre-signed captain Jamie Benn for one year at $1 million, plus an additional $3 million in potential performance bonuses This was a salary cap move, saving more than $5 million with the Oilers needing to re-sign defenseman Evan Bouchard. The Oilers get back a fourth-round pick. Kane, a Vancouver native, adds help on the wing with the Canucks expected to lose Brock Boeser to free agency. Zegras wanted to play center and the Ducks didn't have room for him there in their top six. The Flyers land a creative forward who has scored several lacrosse-style goals but also has dealt recently with injuries. The Ducks get back center Ryan Poehling, who wins faceoffs and kills penalties, two areas where Anaheim needed improvement. They also receive a 2025 second-round pick and a 2026 fourth-rounder. Rick Springfield details effects of brain injury from 25 years agoNew Foto - Rick Springfield details effects of brain injury from 25 years ago

Rick Springfield, 75, is revealing new details about thebrain injury he sustainedmore than two decades ago. During a "TODAY" segment on Thursday, the Grammy-award winner said he recently learned he had lasting damage from a bad fall during a Las Vegas concert her performed 25 years ago. "I was doing the show in Vegas, and I fell actually 25 feet to a steel stage," Springfield said on "TODAY" during his first on-camera interview since breaking the news. During a midshow stunt, Springfield was meant to be suspended from a beam on a gravity-fed harness system, but "it wasn't tied off," the singer revealed. "I slammed (onto the stage), and then the beam hit me on the head and then my head hit the (stage) again." At the time, doctors thought he'd only broken his wrist. "They checked me out, and it seemed to be OK," he recalled. But following a recent full-body MRI scan, he learned he'd suffered a brain injury all those years ago. He admitted to feeling uneasy ahead of the scan, worried doctors would discover something serious. "That's a very scary thing, because could that thing come up that you've always worried about, you know?" While they did find brain damage and scarring, Springfield says it's being monitored, and "we're just watching it." In the end, the singer said it was worth knowing these details about his health despite his anxiety beforehand. His father was the kind of person who avoided investigating his health, and Springfield was reluctant to repeat history, he told People in March. "My dad died from not wanting to know," Springfield said. "He thought he had stomach cancer for years and never got it checked out. When he finally collapsed one day at home, they found out it was an ulcer that burst, and he died from the loss of blood. It could have been fixed if he had gotten it checked out." He went on: "That was a giant message to me: If you want to live long, you have to be prepared for some bad news now and then. I could find out I have terminal cancer tomorrow and be dead in a year, but I can only do all I can do." On "TODAY," Springfield, a soon-to-be grandfather, said that the injury hasn't affected him much, and he's preparing for atour thatbegins this month.

World No. 12 Amanda Anisimova upset top-seeded Aryna Sabalenka 6-4, 4-6, 6-4 in the Wimbledon women's singles semifinals and will head to her first Grand Slam final. The match was delayed twice in the first set because of Centre Court fans not feeling well, but both players endured the heat in a match that took two hours and 37 minutes. Anisimova, a 23-year-old American, will play the winner of the other semifinal between No. 4 Iga Swiatek and No. 35 Belinda Bencic in the final on Saturday. The last time an American woman won Wimbledon was when Serena Williams emerged victorious in 2016. "This doesn't feel real right now," Anisimova said after the match. Sabalenka was looking to become the first woman to reach four straight Grand Slam finals since Serena Williams a decade ago. Anisimova, the last remaining American female in the draw, was broken for the first time in the match after being up 30-love during the seventh game of the second set, giving Sabalenka a 4-3 advantage. Charley Hull collapses twice on courseNew Foto - Charley Hull collapses twice on course

Charley Hull collapsed on course twice during the early stages of the female season's fourth major before being put on a stretcher and whisked to the clubhouse for emergency attention. The Englishwoman was one under through 12 holes at the Evian Championship in France when she was struck down with what has been described as "the effects of a virus". Having started on the 10th, there was little warning of the 29-year-old's illness in her opening nine holes on the course overlooking Lake Geneva. But she suddenly needed to sit down near a bunker on the third. On the next hole, she collapsed on the tee-box and help was immediately called for. In worrying scenes, the officials allowed the group behind to play through as Hull took a 15-minute medical time-out before she teed off again. However, after hitting her tee shot, Hull collapsed again and that was when she accepted that she had to withdraw. Despite her illness, Hull managed three birdies on the front nine with two bogeys as she went in search of her first major victory after posting consecutive 12th-placed finishes at the US Open and Women's PGA Championship earlier this year. After leaving the course, Hull was reported to be "sat up and feeling better". Looking on, Trish Johnson, the Sky Sports analyst who was recently awarded an MBE for her success on the fairways, voiced the concerns of many. "Gutting, isn't it?" she said. "This is a big three weeks in women's golf – you've got this week, the Women's Scottish Open and then of course the AIG Women's Open at Royal Porthcawl. "And what's really really disappointing is that with his golf course, if Charley drives the ball well, she can eat it up because she's such a long-hitter. "She's always one of those players that you get excited about watching, because her game is so entertaining. She did well to give it a go, if she's that bad. Obviously very sad news and let's hope she gets better very quickly." Hull showed her suitability for the quirky layout when she finished third three years ago. The world No 19 has yet to win a major, but has racked up runners-up placings at the Women's Open, US Women's Open and the Chevron Championship. Ireland's Leona Maguire is one of several clubhouse leaders tied on six-under par after her 65, the highlight of which was a hole-in-one on the second. Dolly Parton Reveals Why She and Late Husband Carl Dean 'Were So Good for Each Other'New Foto - Dolly Parton Reveals Why She and Late Husband Carl Dean 'Were So Good for Each Other'

courtesy dolly parton Dolly Parton is the latest guest on Khloe Kardashian'sKhloe in Wonder Landpodcast The country icon opened up about why she and late husband Carl Dean "were so good for each other" Dean died at age 82 in March 2025 There are many reasonsDolly Partonand her late husbandCarl Dean's relationship worked so well. The country icon, 79, was married to Dean for 58 years beforehis death at age 82 in March, and she's now opening up about why they "were so good for each other" in an interview on the July 9 episode ofKhloé Kardashian's podcast,Khloé in Wonder Land. "We were different people. He loved music, but he was a loner," said Parton of her reclusive husband. "He did not want a bunch of people around him except me. Of course he had friends, but he was also the same way. He'd rather be at the barn, be on the farm all day, and if he was gonna go sell a loader or buy a loader or have somebody come work on one of his trucks or tractors, he'd have to let people in." Watch now on@Xpic.twitter.com/dYMogWnKuJ — Khloé (@khloekardashian)July 9, 2025 "But I really think that there's just certain personalities that are great for each other. And we were together 61 years," added the "Jolene" singer, who met Dean at a laundromat in Nashville when she was 18 years old. "We were just so different, but we were so similar. We were perfect, as far as the temperature in the house. We didn't fight over that 'cause we both were comfortable at the same thing. Just so many things we were compatible about, and we just got along great." "I don't know if any of you follow the signs, the Zodiac signs," she told Kardashian. "I'm Capricorn, and [he's a] Cancer, and those are supposed to be compatible. But he was a homebody." Parton noted Dean "never did an interview in his life" and wasn't interested in fame. "He'd be out mowing the yard on the tractor, and the fans would come by to see our house, and they'd say, 'Are you Dolly Parton's husband?' And he'd say, 'Do I look like I'd be Dolly Parton's husband?' He'd have on his old straw hat and his coat," she said. "I didn't ever expose him to that," she said of the celebrity lifestyle. "But he was very proud of me. We got along great because we didn't have nothing to fight over." Despite Parton's fame, she and Dean approached life similarly. "I have to be out in the public and I belong to the public, but I'm such a private person. And my husband was as well," said the "Here You Come Again" artist. Khloe Kardashian/X "That was the thing with us, we were so good for each other because he's a total loner," she continued. "But we could just be in the house all day and say two or three words — didn't matter. Or we could talk all afternoon and lay in bed, talk at night in the dark." Elsewhere during the podcast episode, Parton revealed she won't be releasing new music anytime soon in the wake of Dean's death. "[There are] several things I have wanted to start, but I can't do it," she said. Dolly Parton/Instagram "I will later," she continued. "I'm just coming up with such wonderful beautiful ideas, but I think I won't finish it. I can't do it right now, because I got so many other things." "I can't afford the luxury of, you know, getting that emotional right now," added Parton. "There are times like that, things like that, that will stall you a little bit. But I'll write something else though, if it comes." "I'm just putting that all on hold," she said. Read the original article onPeople

Ye faces new allegations of sexual assault from former assistantNew Foto - Ye faces new allegations of sexual assault from former assistant

Yeis facing new allegations of sexual assault and sex trafficking from a former employee. Lauren Pisciotta, a former personal assistant for Ye who worked for him from 2021 to 2023, has filed a second amended complaint in her lawsuit against the rapperafter previously accusing himof sexual harassment and wrongful termination. The filing, which wasfirst reported by TMZ, accuses Ye of assault, battery, sex trafficking, stalking and false imprisonment, among other allegations. USA TODAY has reached out to representatives for Ye and Pisciotta for comment. A legal representative for Yepreviously told Rolling Stonethat Pisciotta was "terminated for being unqualified, demanding unreasonable sums of money (including a $4 million annual salary) and numerous documented incidents of her lascivious, unhinged conduct." The representative denied her "baseless" allegations and accused her of "blackmail and extortion." However, the latest filing says "Ye subjected Ms. Pisciotta to obscene comments about her body, demanded she wear tight fitting clothing, groped her on a regular basis, forced her to watch Ye perform sexual acts with other women, sent her sexually explicit pictures and demanded she do the same, and repeatedly demanded that she join his sexual encounters, which she refused." The complaint alleges that "on one occasion, Ye attempted to vaginally penetrate Ms. Pisciotta with his fingers," while on another, "he orally raped her without her consent." Ye accused of drugging, sexually assaulting ex-assistant at Diddy session The filing accuses Ye, formerly known asKanye West, of forcibly kissing Pisciotta on the mouth, forcibly touching her vagina, and forcibly grabbing her by the throat. He also allegedly "offered someone the opportunity to have sex with" her "in exchange for allowing Ye to have sex with" that person's significant other. Ye accused of 'pornographic' chokingon La Roux music video set by model in lawsuit The complaint additionally accuses Ye of sex trafficking, alleging that he made "fraudulent promises of career advancement" in exchange for her "acquiescence" to his sexual contact and used "force and coercion to obtain compliance with his sexual demands." In 2023, he fired her after "multiple failed attempts at coercing" her to engage in sexual acts, the filing says. Pisciotta's earlier filing alleged that Ye drugged and sexually assaulted her during a studio session that he cohosted withSean "Diddy" Combs. She also alleges Ye once forced his way into her hotel room and "attempted to forcefully thrust his naked body onto and penis into" her face and in another instance locked her in a room and masturbated. Pisciotta first sued Ye in 2024 for sexual harassment, wrongful termination and breach of contract, then amended her complaint later in the year with additional allegations. The latest filing claims that after she filed her original complaint, Ye hired an individual to "SWAT" her by sending emergency services to her under false pretenses. "Within approximately one week of filing her original summons and complaint in this action, Ms. Pisciotta was bombarded with unwanted, harassing, and alarming visits from law enforcement and government agencies who claimed to be investigating various reports, such as child abuse, and searched her home and personal effects," the filing says. Pisciotta's attorney, Lisa Bloom, said in a statement to USA TODAY that "every woman deserves a respectful workplace free of groping and sexual harassment," adding, "We look forward to aggressively litigating this case on behalf of our brave client, Lauren Piscotta." This story has been updated to include additional information. This article originally appeared on USA TODAY:Kanye West accused of sexual assault, trafficking by Lauren Pisciotta

Jake Paul champions women in the ring ahead of Taylor vs. Serrano fightNew Foto - Jake Paul champions women in the ring ahead of Taylor vs. Serrano fight

These are strange times forJake Paul. This week he walked onto a stage at Madison Square Garden in front of a sizable crowd and elicited a boo. Not a chorus of boos, mind you, but a mere smattering at most. The polarizing boxer, suddenly devoid of bombast, stood calmly on the stage for a special event. It was the end of a press conference promoting an all-women's boxing card on Friday, July 11 at Madison Square Garden in New York. Eight world champions are among 16 boxers set to fight during an event for which Paul, 28, is a key architect. While he's been sparring with fans and profanely promoting his own fights, he more tactfully has elevated women's boxing through Most Valuable Promotions, a company he co-founded in 2021 with business partner Nakisa Bidarian. He also has used his relationship with Netflix, which livestreamed Paul's fight against Mike Tyson in November, to provide their global platform for the all-women's boxing card. "I 100% believe that Jake Paul and Nakisa at MVP Promotions (are) doing a fabulous job with women's boxing,'' said Christy Martin, the Hall of Fame boxer. "Even though promoters have done all-women's cards before, no one's ever done an all-women's card at this level.'' While expanding MVP's talented roster of women's boxers to 21, Paul and Bidarian are delivering what could be the greatest all-women's card in boxing history. Kathy Duva, a promoter who has belittled Paul as a boxer, praised his work as a promoter championing women's boxers. "I think it is fantastic,'' she said. "I sincerely hope his card is a big success.'' Paul has said women's boxing was a priority when he and Bidarian founded MVP in 2021. But the roots trace back to 2011, said Bidarian, who was the Chief Financial Officer at UFC from 2011 to 2016. In 2011, the UFC ushered in women's MMA behind eventual star Ronda Rousey. "And we brought in the women and gave them the same opportunity, the same platform, the same rules as the men,'' he said. Women's MMA grew into a staple for UFC. "I knew that we had an opportunity with women's boxing,'' Bidarian said. "If we found a trailblazer.'' That trailblazing women's boxer turned out to be Amanda Serrano, who, before she signed with MVP, fought in title fights for as little as $4,000. Now she has since stated that she's a multimillionaire. Her third fight against Katie Taylor will be the main event Friday and earn the boxers upwards of $2 million apiece, according Bidarian, who recalled MVP's pitch to Serrano and her manager. He said he promised to make Serrano $1 million in her first year with MVP. "And Amanda always says I lied to her because it took seven months,'' Bidarian said. Matt Taffet, manager for boxing star Claressa Shields, lauded Paul. "Jake has done a great job on all of it,'' said Taffet, who was a key player in boxing as a longtime executive at HBO Sports. "He got Amanda big fights and a big profile. I mean, Amanda spent a career winning world titles in seven divisions, but she didn't become one of the super women of women's boxing until she got near Jake.'' Serrano's success helped MVP lure other champions, who have played an integral role in what's next up: the all-women's card. "This is your moment,'' Paul recently said of the women's boxers. "This is your time to show the world what we are all about.'' MVP is billing this boxing card as the greatest in women's history, but it'd be wise to withhold judgment until the boxers get into the ring. That said, the potential is enormous, with four championship fights, a robust purse and Netflix's global reach. Bidarian declined to provide details on how much the 16 boxers will make. However, he did say Serrano and Katie Taylor, set to fight for the third time, each will make more than the men's and women's runners-up at Wimbledon. That's $2,081,868 apiece. Before Serrano and Taylor fought as the co-main on the Paul-Tyson card, Taylor said she would earn $6.1 million, about triple the payout to the runners-up at Wimbledon. "I'm saying they're makingmorethan that,'' Bidarian countered. And on Wednesday, he announced a $250,000 performance will be awarded to the best fighter or fight of the night. To be determined by Paul, Bidarian and Laila Ali. Yes, Muhammad Ali's daughter, who once ascended to the top of women's boxing, is on board. "Right now, for the most part, Jake Paul already is the dominant promoter in women's boxing by far,'' said promoter Lou DiBella, who had Serrano under contract before she signed with MVP. "And he's put his money where his mouth is. "Now, let's see if Jake can make changes by giving these other girls enough exposure that they can start selling (fight cards). We're going to find out.'' By Sepp Straka's math, two out of three equals 64 and a share of the lead at the Scottish Open. Straka polished off a round of 6-under-par to finish the first round at The Renaissance Club in North Berwick in a four-way tie atop the leaderboard on Thursday. "My iron play was pretty good," said Straka. "Driver not so much but the chipping was really nice, and I also made a lot of putts. Any time those two are working, the scores usually are going to be pretty good." The 64 was Straka's personal-best on the course and tied the Austrian with Victor Perez (France), Nico Echavarria (Colombia) and American Jake Knapp, who has one career win on the PGA Tour (2024, Mexico Open). A big hitter off the tee, Knapp's bogey-free round was his first competitive tournament round on the course. He posted six birdies and made an improbable 35-foot birdie at the par-4 4th. Knapp was first in strokes gained off the tee at the time his round wrapped up, shooting 32 on the front and back nines. "It's huge. Downwind holes, try to take advantage of my length and obviously try to keep it out of all the bunkers out there for the most part," Knapp said. "That's been our main focus. I've been driving it well over the last month. Drove it well in Detroit, so trying to keep that trend going. Just use my length when I can." Germany's Marcel Siem and Matti Schmid shot 65, along with Scotland's Calum Hill and England's Marco Penge, one shot behind the leaders. "That was really good fun. It's nice to come in here, probably the biggest event of the year for Scottish people, and have a good start. It's great," Hill said. At 4-under are Viktor Hovland (Norway), Ryan Fox (New Zealand), Americans Wyndham Clark and Keith Mitchell and Tom Kim (Korea). Straka birdied four of his first seven holes, shot 31 on his opening nine and was at 7-under with four holes to go Thursday. He gave back two shots taking bogey at the par-3 6th and par-4 7th, then recovered with a birdie at No. 8. "The wind picked up around the turn, and yeah, when I got the ball in play, my iron play was pretty good and took advantage of it," Straka said. "But a lot of squirrely drives as well. A few up-and-downs saved me. Yeah, it was a nice way to finish." Echavarria birdied three consecutive holes -- 14 through 16 -- and accomplished his top priority of keeping his ball out of the bunker off the tee. "It's key to hit the fairways because from the rough the ball doesn't have any spin and it could roll on the greens, bounce really hard," he said. "I was able to do that and give myself looks and I was able to convert." Northern Ireland's Rory McIlroy, the winner in 2023 who finished fourth last year, was 2-under and in a massive logjam with a group that includes Scotland's Robert MacIntyre, Xander Schauffele, Nicolai Højgaard, Collin Morikawa and Daniel Berger. Perez, coming off of a top-20 at the U.S. Open, played in the later wave Thursday, closing with seven birdies and four on his final five holes. U.S. Open champion J.J. Spaun was at even par and tied for 68th. Spaun had birdies at 16 and 17 after shooting a 2-over 37 on the front nine. --Field Level Media
