The Princess of Wales, 43, attended the Wimbledon Championships'singles final between Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcarazon Sunday, July 13, where she was joined by her husband,Prince William. Two of the royal couple's kids,Prince George, 11, andPrincess Charlotte, 10, also attended with them. Their youngest child, Prince Louis, 7, was absent. Kate chose a bright blue dress with a bold shoulder bow and a wide-brimmed straw hat for the match, while Charlotte wore a ruffled white dress piped in navy. The mother and daughter donned sunglasses and waved paper fans in the heat. Seal and Keira Knightley were among the celebrities also spotted in the crowd on July 13. "It was a bit of a pet peeve of mine when I was doingX-Files, not so much the other shows that I've done, but, as withBones, it's episodic, but every episode is pretty high drama. It can be life and death," said Duchovny during the podcast episode. "Sometimes the directors would come on and they'd know they had a great script and [since] this was on theX-Files, this could happen, you know? Like, 'Holy s**t, this is a great script,' and they really wanted to kill it. Those guys were dangerous. So often they would say, 'We've never seen Mulder like this before,' and I'd say, 'Yeah, like 10 other times we've seen Mulder like this before.'" He then provided an example that showed some of the inconsistencies with Mulder's character. He said during the production of Season 1, Episode 12, ("Fire"), he pointed out that it didn't make sense for Mulder to be intensely afraid of fire because he didn't have a reaction to a burning building in the pilot episode, which aired in 1993. "I remember like in the middle of the episode, I had this thought. I I think I went up to [director]Chris Carter, who wrote that episode, I believe, and I said, 'Didn't Mulder and Scully watch a building burn down in the pilot? I think Mulder was fairly cool with it, you know, it didn't bother him,'" said the actor while recording the podcast episode. "It's like this kind of stuff, you know where you're going, you're kind of the curator of the character and sometimes you have to go, 'I can't actually do that.'" Duchovny and Carter, who createdThe X-Files, discussed their working relationship in a June 2025 episode ofFail Better. While recording the episode, Duchovny and Carter acknowledged they didn't always have the best relationship. Duchovny suggested issues arose when he left the series following its seventh season. MLB is sending wrong message by adding Jacob Misiorowski to All-Star Game

Days before the MLB All-Star Game in Atlanta, Major League Baseball made a decision about the roster that is turning heads — for the wrong reasons. The leagueadded Milwaukee Brewers rookie Jacob Misiorowski to the National League All-Star teamon Friday to replaceCubs starter Matthew Boyd, who pitched Saturday. Misiorowski has started five games in the big leagues and now holds the record for fewest starts by a player to make an All-Star team. The All-Star Game is an exhibition. We know that, and in the grand scheme of a baseball season, it doesn't have major significance outside of entertainment for fans and a showcase for players. Even so, the fact that it doesn't hold much weight in terms of the season doesn't mean it lacks importance. The main goal of the Midsummer Classic is to recognize the players who have performed at a high level through the first half of the MLB season. With that, it also allows fans to see the stars of the game they might not watch on a regular basis. But by adding Misiorowski to the NL All-Star roster, MLB has sent a message to players that not only does the game not matter, but performance doesn't matter, either. Selections to play in the All-Star Game should be based on merit and production from the season's first half. The reality is thatthere will always be snubs. But this selection feels different than your ordinary snub. At this point in the process, days before the All-Star festivities, it's a given that some adjustments will need to be made, with players injured, unavailable to pitch Tuesday or opting for rest. But adding a rookiewho debuted a month ago, as opposed to going down the list to find a more deserving starter, sends the wrong message. The player who had the best case to replace Boydwould've been Philadelphia Phillies left-hander Cristopher Sánchez. Sánchez —who pitched Sundayand was therefore unavailable to pitch Tuesday in the All-Star Game — currently ranks 10th among qualified starters in ERA, 16th in strikeouts and eighth in fielding independent pitching (FIP). Sánchez's teammate,Ranger Suárez, also a strong candidate to head to Atlanta, reportedly declined to go. In the hubbub around Misiorowski, some might point toPittsburgh Pirates star Paul Skenesbeing selected and starting for the National League in the All-Star Game last season as a comparable situation. While there are similarities, those are largely very different situations. To be fair, Skenes didn't have as many starts or innings pitched as other NL All-Stars last year, and he then had the fewest starts by a player to make an All-Star team, with 11. But that's still more than twice as many starts as Misiorowski has made this season, and Skenes had thrown almost three times as many innings (66 1/3 IP vs. 25 2/3 IP). He had also been the most dominant starter in baseball for more than two months at the time of his selection. It's important to note that we do not know how many National League starters were invited by MLB and declined before the league reached out to Misiorowski. That list might be longer than many fans realize. At the same time, it's a safe bet that there were qualified NL starters with more than 25 innings pitched who were not asked. Another factor here is that even though the All-Star Game doesn't have ramifications for the season (anymore), All-Star selections are still important to players. When we talk about greatness in baseball, All-Star appearances are part of the conversation. When BBWAA members consider candidates for the Hall of Fame, All-Star appearances are part of the conversation. When we as a baseball community compare players from different eras, All-Star appearances are part of the conversation. And some players, including Sánchez, have incentives and bonuses in their contracts tied to All-Star appearances — which, according to reports, the Phillies will honor. Given something as significant as contract incentives, shouldn't the merit of the players selected be of utmost importance? Unfortunately, in this case, MLB opted to go the route of entertainment over merit. To his credit, Misiorowskiis the definition of a baseball phenom. His stuff is electric, and he has been a driving force behind the Brewers' recent success. But again, he has appeared in five major-league games. Whether or not people care about the All-Star Game's importance, it's still meaningful to many players. But how are players supposed to stay invested in this exhibition if they don't believe their performance is determining who goes? And how do you get fans to care if they don't believe All-Star selections are authentic? None of this is Misiorowski's fault. He has done nothing wrong — quite the opposite — and he isn't responsible for his own selection. But sadly, he has now been put in an awkward position by the league, at the center of a conversation he likely wishes he weren't part of. At the end of the day, the All-Star Game will go on as scheduled, and most people probably won't give this matter a second thought after the game. Still, this was an unforced error by Major League Baseball that not only sends the wrong message to players and fans but also sets a bad precedent for the future.

The Rays snapped an 18-inning scoreless stretch in the fourth inning, tying the game on Josh Lowe's sacrifice fly. Ryan Pepiot (6-7) gave up four runs, three earned, in six innings. Originally, the reason for Fried not pitching in Atlanta was because he played Saturday and couldn't appear in the All-Star Game on two days' rest. However, a familiar problem for Fried has arisen and the Yankees are concerned that it could linger past the All-Star break. Fried developed a blister on his left index finger duringSaturday's 5-2 lossto theChicago Cubs. As a result, he left the game after pitching only three innings while allowing three earned runs, six hits and three walks. According to Fried, he felt the blister in the third inning on his fourth pitch toJon Berti, a 92.2 mph cut fastball. It was his 72nd pitch of the game. "I threw the fastball. I kind of felt it go," Fried said after the game,via MLB.com. "I threw the changeup with the next pitch and was able to get out of the inning." Fried concealed his left hand while talking to reporters, tucking it under his left arm or holding his hands behind his back. "It definitely was uncomfortable enough to the point where I didn't want to risk more and it was going to affect my pitches," he added. "So, yeah, just the next couple of days are going to be big in just being able to evaluate on how long I need." Despite all of his experiences with blisters, the nine-year veteran hasn't found the best way to alleviate the problem. Hall of Famer Nolan Ryan famouslysoaked his finger in pickle brineto toughen up the skin, an example thatone reporter mentionedto Fried. He didn't indicate if dipping his index finger in a pickle jar was in his future, but explained that he's tried various creams and pieces of equipment to treat the blisters. In his first season with the Yankees after signingan eight-year, $218 million contract, Fried leads MLB with 11 wins, in addition to a 2.43 ERA in 113 innings (20 starts). "I need to take a moment to share some personal thoughts with you, as you've been all so kind to me these past few weeks - this time has been a whirlwind of loss, and reflection for me and my family," Sadler started off the emotional post. "I learned in April, just before boarding a cruise, that my cancer is incurable and untreatable," Sadler revealed. The singer also revealed the heartbreak of losing his sister to cancer on July 1, while his brother continues to fight Leukemia. Despite his ongoing battle, Sadler is focused on completing his musical projects and staying active in his work. "Though I'm currently stable and otherwise doing well, this news has turned my life toward a more introspective and purposeful path. In this autumn of my life, I find myself reflecting on all the time I wasted and the precious moments I have left," he said, revealing his plan to make the most of his remaining time. Sadler's post ended with gratitude for his fans, expressing hope that they will continue to support his efforts.
