WhileUntamedis set in Yosemite National Park in California, much of the filming for the Netflix thriller took place in British Columbia, Canada. Yosemite has served as a filming location for numerous projects, includingIndiana Jones and the Temple of Doom(1994) andStar Trek V: The Final Frontier(1989), but forUntamed, the production opted to use Canadian locations as a stand-in for the California park. Filming locations reportedlyincludedChip Kerr Park, Mount Seymour, Murdo Frazier Park, and the Sea to Sky Gondola inSquamish. In addition, production took place at Vancouver's North Shore Studios. In August 2024,Untamedfilmed in Port Moody in British Columbia, with local paperTri-Cities Dispatchreporting, "Hollywood was visiting Port Moody last week, with actor Eric Bana on the set of a new Netflix production around Chip Kerr Park. A dozen semi-trailers, a boom lift, catering truck, and a large film crew with set designers, production assistants, camera operators, actors and directors took over a portion of Henry Street, Hope Street and William Street." Actress Lily Santiago, who plays Naya Vasquez in the series, shared behind-the-scenes snaps from filming in Vancouver on her Instagram ahead of the premeire. "We're on location a lot for this project," Santiagosaidin a recent interview. "All the locations I've been able to film forUntamedare just stunningly beautiful. For episode one or two, the director, Tom Bezucha, said he wanted the characters to take it all in and acknowledge the beauty. We both agreed that it shouldn't be too hard." On his Instagram, Bezucha shared a glimpse of the fake El Capitan they filmed on: Per his Instagram parts of Yosemite were also built on a sound stage: All six episodes ofUntamedare now streaming on Netflix.Watch now You Might Also Like 12 Weekend Getaway Spas For Every Type of Occasion 13 Beauty Tools to Up Your At-Home Facial Game

'Superman' flexes its might in second weekend with $57.3 millionNew Foto - 'Superman' flexes its might in second weekend with $57.3 million

NEW YORK (AP) —James Gunn's "Superman"showed staying power in its second weekend at North American box offices, collecting $57.3 million in ticket sales and remaining the No. 1 movie in cinemas, according to studio estimates Sunday. None of the week's new releases — "I Know What You Did Last Summer," "Smurfs," and "Eddington" — came close to touching Warner Bros. and DC Studios'superhero success. "Superman" dipped 54% from its domestic opening, an average decline for a big summer film. In two weeks, "Superman" has grossed $406.8 million worldwide, a good start for the movie DC Studios is banking on to restart its movie operations. A big test looms next weekend, when the Walt Disney Co. releases Marvel's"The Fantastic Four: First Steps." Strong audience scores and good reviews should help propel the $225 million-budgeted "Superman" toward profitability in the coming weeks. For Warner Bros. and DC Studios, "Superman" is key to kicking off a 10-year plan for the comic book adaptation studio. Co-headsGunn and Peter Safrawere tasked with rehabilitating the flagging operation. Next on tap are the films "Supergirl" and "Clayface" in 2026. But "Superman" is far from flying solo in theaters right now. Universal Pictures'"Jurassic World: Rebirth"came in second this weekend, with $23.4 million in its third week of release. The seventh "Jurassic" movie, this one starring Scarlett Johansson, held its own despite the competition from "Superman." In three weeks, it accrued $648 million worldwide. Apple Studios and Warner Bros.'"F1: The Movie"has also shown legs, especially internationally. In its fourth weekend, the Brad Pitt racing drama dipped just 26% domestically, bringing in $9.6 million in North America, and another $29.5 million overseas. Its global total stands at $460.8 million. But both of the biggest new releases — Sony Pictures' "I Know What You Did Last Summer" and Paramount Pictures' "Smurfs" — fell flat. "I Know What You Did Last Summer"opened with $13 million, a fair result for a movie budgeted at a modest $18 million, but a disappointing opening for a well-known horror franchise. The film, directed by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, is set 27 years after the 1997 original. Teenagers played by Madelyn Cline and Chase Sui Wonders are again haunted for covering up a car accident. The movie's reviews (38% "fresh" on Rotten Tomatoes) were poor for "I Know What You Did Last Summer" and audiences graded it similarly. The film notched a "C+" on CinemaScore. The original collected $72.6 million in its domestic run in 1997. Paramount Pictures'"Smurfs"debuted in fourth place this weekend with $11 million. The latest big-screen reboot for the woodland blue creatures prominently features Rihanna as the voice of Smurfette. But reviews (21% "fresh" on Rotten Tomatoes) were terrible. Audiences were kinder, giving it a "B+" on CinemaScore, but the $58 million-budgeted release will depend largely on its international sales. In 56 overseas markets, "Smurfs" earned $22.6 million. Ari Aster's "Eddington"opened with $4.2 million on 2,111 screens for A24. Since itspremiere at the Cannes Film Festival, "Eddington" has beenparticularly divisive. The pandemic-set Western features Joaquin Phoenix as the right-wing sheriff of a small New Mexico town who faces off with its liberal mayor (Pedro Pascal). While Aster's first film, 2018's "Heredity" ($82.8 million worldwide against a $10 million budget) helped establish A24 as an indie powerhouse, but the less-than-stellar launch of "Eddington" marks the second box-office disappointment for Aster. His 2023 film "Beau Is Afraid" cost $35 million to make but collected just $12.4 million worldwide. "Eddington" cost about $25 million to produce. Audiences gave it a "C+" on CinemaScore. None of Aster's previous films have been graded higher. Yet collectively, Hollywood is enjoying a very good summer. According to data firm Comscore, the 2025 summer box office is up 15.9% over the same period last year, with the year-to-date sales running 15% ahead of 2025. Summer ticket sales have amassed about $2.6 billion domestically, according to Comscore. Top 10 movies by domestic box office With final domestic figures being released Monday, this list factors in the estimated ticket sales for Friday through Sunday at U.S. and Canadian theaters, according to Comscore: 1. "Superman," $57.3 million. 2. "Jurassic World Rebirth," $23.4 million. 3. "I Know What You Did Last Summer," $13 million. 4. "Smurfs," $11 million. 5, "F1: The Movie," $9.6 million. 6. "How to Train Your Dragon," $5.4 million. 7. "Eddington," $4.3 million. 8. "Elio," $2 million. 9. "Lilo & Stitch," $1.5 million. 10. "28 Years Later," $1.3 million.

NFLPA interim executive director decision reportedly expected by Tuesday with J.C. Tretter, Don Davis in '2-man race'New Foto - NFLPA interim executive director decision reportedly expected by Tuesday with J.C. Tretter, Don Davis in '2-man race'

The race to be the next executive director of the NFL Players Association is down to two men, according toThe Athletic. Either NFLPA chief strategy officer J.C. Tretter or chief player officer Don Davis are expected to lead the union following a tumultuous week that saw Lloyd Howell abruptly resign. A decision is expected by Tuesday, when 26 of the league's 32 teams are scheduled to report to training camp, per ESPN.Representatives from all 32 NFL teams were on a call Friday night to discuss the union's leadership future. Tretter is reportedly seen as the leader ahead of Davis in terms of support from the players. Whoever gets the job is not expected to end up in the role full time. While Tretter seemingly has the support, Russini also reported on Saturday that a group of players are discussing potential legal action against the NFLPA and Tretter, "citing potential violations around inclusion, labor rights, and misuse of union dues." A source on the NFLPA call with all 32 player reps said it was clear many players haven't been keeping up with union developments which led to a flurry of questions and catch-up conversations during the meeting and today. — Dianna Russini (@DMRussini)July 19, 2025 Howell, who led the NFLPA since 2023,resigned Thursday nightafter an outside investigator reportedly discovered Howell charged the union formultiple strip club visits, according to ESPN. Howell allegedly charged the union $738.82 on one receipt and another $2,426 during a separate strip club visit. ESPN's report marked the fourth time this offseason Howell's actions as NFLPA executive director came under scrutiny. Journalists Mike Florio and Pablo Torre previously unearthedtwo grievance rulingsthe NFL and NFLPA worked to keep secret. One of those rulings foundevidence of collusionamong teams, a potentially explosive revelation that Howell allegedly not only worked to keep out of the public, but also may havetried to keep from players.

ACC Kickoff: Bill Belichick and the top storylines this week in CharlotteNew Foto - ACC Kickoff: Bill Belichick and the top storylines this week in Charlotte

CHARLOTTE -- Talking season in college football continues this week with ACC Kickoff, and anticipation has never been higher because of a certain coach arriving in Chapel Hill. Every head coach and marquee players representing all 17 ACC football programs descend on Charlotte on Tuesday to discuss the upcoming 2025 football season. Here are three storylines to monitor during ACC Kickoff. --Bill Belichick's long-awaited debut The University of North Carolina has historically been a basketball school. But this offseason, the Tar Heels have been the talk of the college football universe since hiring legendary NFL head coach Bill Belichick last December. Belichick, who turned 73 in April, is now a first-time college coach in Chapel Hill after winning six Super Bowls as head coach of the New England Patriots from 2000 through 2023. He replaces Mack Brown, who was fired to end his second stint as UNC head coach last November. It's been an interesting first offseason for Belichick, who has been in the news quite a bit with regard to his 24-year-old girlfriend Jordon Hudson and her involvement with the UNC football program. However, he's also transformed the roster by bringing in 41 transfers, third-most of any Power-Four program. While ACC Kickoff can always be a bit of a media circus, Belichick's first appearance in Charlotte on Thursday should add a new level of buzz before his much-anticipated UNC coaching debut Sept. 1 vs. TCU. --Expectations renewed for Clemson entering 2025 For awhile there, Clemson winning the ACC Championship under Dabo Swinney felt like a bit of a foregorn conclusion. Swinney and the Tigers won six straight conference titles from 2015 through 2020 and a seventh in 2022, along with a pair of national titles in 2016 and 2018. And yet, when Clemson went 9-4 (4-4 in ACC) in 2023, people wondered if the Tigers' run of dominance under Swinney was coming to an end. Clemson quickly proved that doubt foolish last season, capping off a 9-3 regular season with the program's eighth ACC title in the last 10 years and an appearance in the first 12-team edition of the College Football Playoff. The Tigers now enter 2025 with high expectations once again drifting off their 2024 resurgence and the fact that many prominent players from that team return. Senior quarterback Cade Klubnik is back after amassing 3,639 passing yards, 463 rushing yards and 43 total touchdowns (36 passing, seven rushing) in 2024. On the other side of the ball, T.J. Parker Jr. and Peter Woods Jr. are set to anchor a defensive line that is expected to be among the best in the country. --How does SMU follow up its impressive ACC opening act? As conference realignment boomed over the last few years, quite a few teams that changed conferences struggled to adapt to the increased level of competition. That proved to be no problem for SMU, however. The Mustangs finished their first season in the ACC last fall with an 11-1 regular season and made appearances in the ACC Championship Game and College Football Playoff. That makes for a tough act to follow in SMU's second season in the ACC under head coach Rhett Lashlee. Starting quarterback Kevin Jennings is back this season after anchoring the Mustangs' undefeated season behind 3,245 passing yards and 23 touchdown passes. He's likely out for redemption after he threw three interceptions in SMU's 38-10 CFP loss at Penn State. The Mustangs will have to replace leading rushing Brashard Smith (1,332 yards, 14 rushing touchdowns in 2024) and standout defensive linemen Elijah Roberts and Jahfari Harvey, who combined for 15 sacks in 2024. --Field Level Media

"The Sopranos" refused to share food with "Sex and the City" while filming in same studio: 'You can't come over here!'

HBO/ Courtesy: Everett; Anthony Neste/Getty Sharing directors is one thing, butaspettaon the catering. The latest episode ofAre You a Charlotte?,Kristin Davis' charming rewatch podcast ofSex and the City, boasts director Allen Coulter, one of the in-house auteurs at HBO during their years of ascent in the late 1990s. And though the two shows had greatly different audiences and tones, he was the first of several directors to cross fromThe SopranostoSex and the City(and back again) in those days. Indeed, both shows being early HBO productions shared many resources, including indoor shooting locations. Davis recalled a time when both series were filming at Silvercup Studios in Queens (you may know its roof from the 1986 action-fantasyHighlander), where, unfortunately, there wasn't quite the generosity between the sibling shows as she had hoped for. HBO/Courtesy Everett Collection "Remember that middle area of Silvercup, because it had been the bread factory, so it wasn't really a proper studio?" Davis asked her old director. "And the different stages would have a common area of hallways, andThe Sopranoswould have their craft services, which was like going to the best Italian restaurant that you could possibly imagine. And our craft services was really, really... not that." Davis, always polite, quickly added, "No offense to anyone who made it. But we would just be like, 'How can we get over there and get the food?' And they would guard that food, do you know what I mean? They'd be like, 'No. You can't come over here.' And we'd be like, 'Please, can we have some meatballs?'" Davis further explained, "On hour 15, you're really wanting theSopranosmeatballs, but you can't have them." Coulter apologized on behalf of "the mob was keeping you away from the food," which then triggered a memory he had, as one of the few with intimate knowledge of the inner workings of both shows. What you probably need to know is that in most movies, shows, television commercials — anything that involves actors eating food — the people on camera usually don't actually swallow what's on their plate. When it gets to take 16, this would lead to greatagita. ButThe Sopranoswas special. "I remember we were shooting a scene at the Bada Bing, you know, the so-called backroom of the Bada Bing, where they're all having lunch and pasta and stuff. When shooting an eating scene, and this would be true ofSex and the City, you always have a spit bucket." HBO/Courtesy Everett Collection Coulter continued, "So we're shooting that and I go over and I was looking at the guys and the guys had the spit bucket up on the table there, but it's completely clean. I said, 'What's the deal there?' They said, 'They just eat everything.' So we did, like, four takes and they would eat four meals." But Davis added that, surprisingly, onSATC, they never used a spit bucket either. "I think it was becauseMichael [Patrick King]and I feel like alsoDarren [Star]really wanted us to eat and keep talking. So, like, we didn't really have the opportunity to be like, 'Okay, spit.' You know?" Davis then noted, however, that "we would order something that wasn't gonna be insane, right, for eight million takes or whatever." One assumes that if they were chowing down on Artie Bucco'szuppa di musselsorcannelloniwith the fresh béchamel, it would be a different story. The ventriloquist's two marriages are covered inShari & Lamb Chop, a new documentary about the trailblazing children's entertainer and her beloved sock puppetLamb Chop. Shari Hurwitz met her first husband, Stan Lewis, when she was just 15. Four years later, the high school sweethearts tied the knot. Stan worked in entertainment, on the business side, as an account executive for a number of TV game shows. He made headlines when he became involved in a "scandal." "They had a bit of a crisis. There was a scandal involving people being manipulated by the show, and there was a big investigation, and the shows were cancelled, and Stan lost his job," Ely Hurwitz, Shari's cousin, explains in the documentary. Kino Lorber The incident was "devastating to Shari and to her parents," Hurwitz notes. "They were very concerned about the impact of the scandal on her public reputation." "That sort of put an end to that marriage. So they separated and got divorced and kept everything as quiet and secret as possible." It wasn't long after her divorce from Stan that the rising star met Jeremy Tarcher, who worked in TV as an assistant program manager and who, according to Hurwitz, "came from a wealthy family and is what we today would call a trust-fund child." She and Tarcher hit it off ("I thought he was the most elegant man I'd ever met — he's so elegant he doesn't even go to bed barefoot," Lewis told PEOPLE in 1976), but he sometimes felt intimidated by her success. Though he was well-educated, Tarcher didn't share Lewis's drive to succeed, which led to some hiccups in their relationship. Still, the two tied the knot less than a year after meeting. Kino Lorber By then, Lewis was already a successful puppeteer, having introduced Lamb Chop on the morning children's TV showCaptain Kangarooin 1957. "You can't open one of the doors without being conked by a rabbit or an elephant," Tarcher toldCuemagazine in 1958, perCBS News. "It's like being married to Fibber McGee." (Fibber McGee was a popular radio and TV character from 1935 to 1960 who was famous for hisoverstuffed closets.) The couple welcomed daughter Mallory in July 1962, as they worked together onThe Shari Lewis Show. After it concluded in 1963, they struggled in their marriage as Tarcher explored new-age ideologies. "The New Age movement was the antithesis of my mother, but she loved her husband, and so she made an attempt to encourage and support," Mallory, 63, explains in the documentary. Ron Galella Collection via Getty The two experienced hard times through Tarcher's experimentation with drugs and lack of drive to match Lewis's professional success. He did, according to the 1976 PEOPLE feature on Lewis, enjoy some success as a publisher of nonfiction and celebrity books, including Johnny Carson'sHappiness Is a Dry Martini. "The thought of not working has never occurred to me," Lewis says in archival footage in the documentary. "I do not understand not working. If I didn't perform, I would do something else. I would write. I'd work in an advertising agency." Despite difficult periods, Lewis and Tarcher worked things out and remained together until her death in 1998 from uterine cancer at age 65. TORONTO (AP) —Wimbledon champion Jannik Sinner, 24-time Grand Slam title winner Novak Djokovic and No. 5-ranked Jack Draper all withdrew Sunday from the Masters 1000 tournament in Toronto that starts in a week, citing injuries. TheNo. 1-ranked Sinnerblamed his right elbow, which he hurt in a fall in the fourth round at the All England Club on the way to his first title there and fourth major trophy. He won his first Masters 1000 title in Toronto in 2023. "Winning that title in Toronto two years ago was the start of a really special moment for me, but after speaking with my team, I have to recover," Sinner said. Djokovic said a groin injury was why he pulled out from an event he has won four times. He lost to Sinner in the semifinals at Wimbledon. Draper will miss Toronto and the Cincinnati Masters next month because of a problem with his left arm, meaning he won't have any hard-court tuneup tournament before the U.S. Open begins on Aug. 24. "After Wimbledon I picked up an injury in my left arm, nothing serious, but I have to make sure it recovers fully for the rest of the season," Draper posted on social media. "Unfortunately, I won't be able to compete in Toronto and Cincinnati…. See you in NYC!" ___ More AP tennis:https://apnews.com/hub/tennis

England's Jess Carter reveals racial abuse at Euro 2025, FA has contacted policeNew Foto - England's Jess Carter reveals racial abuse at Euro 2025, FA has contacted police

ZURICH (AP) — England defender Jess Carter says she has been subject to racial abuse online at the Women's European Championship. Carter came in for a lot of criticism for her performance duringEngland's opening loss to France. And some of that has crossed the line even as the 27-year-old and the Lionesses have reached the semifinals at Euro 2025. "From the start of the tournament I have experienced a lot of racial abuse,"Carter wrotein an emotional post on Instagram on Sunday. "Whilst I feel every fan is entitled to their opinion on performance and result I don't agree or think it's ok to target someone's appearance or race." Carter has made 49 appearances for England and was part of the victorious Euro 2022 squad as well as an integral part of the team that finished runner-up to Spain at the World Cup the following year. She says she will be taking a step back from social media. "As ever I am grateful for all of the support from the genuine fans but I am taking this measure to protect myself in a bid to keep my focus on helping the team anyway I can," Carted added. The Football Association has contacted police back in the United Kingdom. "Our priority is Jess and giving her all the support she needs,"FA CEO Mark Bullingham said. "We strongly condemn those responsible for this disgusting racism. "As soon as we were made aware of the racist abuse Jess received, we immediately contacted UK police. They are in touch with the relevant social media platform, and we are working with police to ensure those responsible for this hate crime are brought to justice." Bullingham added that the FA had measures in place to respond quickly as "regrettably, this is not the first time this has happened to an England player." Carter's teammates immediately responded to her Instagram post with messages of support. The Lionesses also issueda joint statementcondemning the "online poison" and announcing that they will no longer perform the anti-racism stance of taking a knee before matches because "it is clear we and football need to find another way to tackle racism." England defender Lucy Bronze elaborated on the group's decision. "I think it was just the fact that we feel as a collective, is the message as strong as it used to be? Is the message really hitting hard? Because to us it feels like it's not if these things are still happening to our players in the biggest tournaments of their lives," Bronze said. "It's about putting another statement out there to say it's something that still is a problem, it's something that still needs to be put right, more needs to be done in football, more needs to be done in society." Carter plays her club soccer for Gotham FC in the United States, having joined from Chelsea a year ago. "We are heartbroken and outraged by the racist abuse directed at Jess Carter. Jess is not only a world-class football player — she is a role model, a leader and a valued part of our Gotham FC family," the New York area-based team said ina statement. "At Gotham, we believe in a culture of mutual respect and remain committed to building a game — and a community — where everyone feels safe, respected and celebrated. There is no place for racism in our sport." England plays Italy in the semifinals on Tuesday in Geneva, aftera dramatic comeback against Swedenlast week saw the Lionesses win a chaotic penalty shootout. The other semifinal pits Spain against Germany on Wednesday. "Hopefully speaking out will make the people writing this abuse think twice so that others won't have to deal with it," Carter said. "We have made some historic changes with this Lionesses squad that I am so proud to be part of and my hope is that by speaking out about this it will make another positive change for all. "I'm now looking forward and focusing on putting all my energy into helping my team." Euro 2025 has so far delighted spectators with exciting matches as well as the stunning scenery around Switzerland. However, as the women's game continues to grow it is also attracting more online vitriol. "The bigger this sport has got, it seems to be that more abuse has come as well, and I think especially in women's football, the online abuse seems to be getting worse and worse," Bronze said. "We see it more in the stadiums in men's football and online, but I think with women's football, there seems to be a real target online. "I think, with online platforms, it's something that we can make a change to … there is a way to make the change, there is a solution. I don't have the answer to that solution because I'm not head of a social media platform, but I'm sure that there is one." ___ AP soccer:https://apnews.com/hub/soccer

STOCKHOLM (AP) — Ingvar Ambjørnsen, a Norwegian author who mixed a sharp, even dark tone with humor and empathy in works that depicted the lives of the oppressed and vulnerable, has died, his publisher said. He was 69. The Cappelen Damm publishing house did not specify the cause of death. Born on May 20, 1956, in Tönsberg — described on his German-language author website as "Norway's most bar-filled town" — Ambjørnsen grew up in Larvik and worked in various jobs in industry and psychiatry before publishing his first documentary novel in 1981. Four years later, he moved to Hamburg, where he lived for decades. "His books are characterized by powerful, realistic descriptions of the seamier side of life," the publisher said. Ambjørnsen became one of the publisher's best-known contemporary authors with four novels built around the character Elling, a shy and imaginative outsider who coped with the funny but endearing foibles of daily life after release from a psychiatric hospital. The comedy "Elling" — the story of two recently released mental patients bunking together in an apartment in Oslo — was nominated in 2001 for anAcademy Awardas best foreign-language film. "I don't believe there were any actual conversations with her team," she said. "It never got further than an internal discussion between the filmmakers and the studio." But unfortunately, his audition was one of his "worst" acting experiences, he toldBackstagein September 2020. "I was working with Will Young, this British musician, and he helped me with the song. He was, like, 'This is really high, I'll transfer it down an octave.' So I felt reasonably comfortable with it," he recalled. "I went in and I gave it to the piano player and I was, like, 'I'm just gonna put this down an octave.' And he was, like, 'No you're not. I'm the musical supervisor, you're going to do it like this.' It was like strangling a cat, singing forMamma Mia!"
