Meanwhile, the fourth and fifth "Avatar" films are set for Dec. 21, 2029, and Dec. 19, 2031, respectively. The trailer wasfirst revealedexclusively to CinemaCon attendees back in April. The footage returns to the lush world of Pandora and introduces two new Na'vi tribes: The soaring Wind Traders, who traverse the skies on contraptions resembling hot air balloons, and their sworn rivals, the Fire People, who ride on flying beasts. The two clans clash, and one Na'vi is taken out with a flaming arrow. "We can not live like this, baby," Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) tells his wife Neytiri (Zoe Saldaña) in the trailer. "We can not live with this hate." "Fire and Ash" picks up directly after "The Way of Water," which followed Jake and his family as they team with Pandora's water tribe, known as the Metkayina, to fight against the tyrannical Resources Development Administration. The new films see them pinned against the Ash People, who have defected from Jake's Na'vi clan and their nature-worshipping religion. "Avatar" and "The Way of Water" both grossed over $2 billion at the worldwide box office, making them the No. 1 and No. 3 most commercially successful films of all time worldwide. If "Fire and Ash" follows suit, "Avatar" will be the only franchise to have three films cross the $2 billion threshold. Malcolm-Jamal Warnerwas more than just a sitcom darling. The Emmy-nominated actor, whoreportedly died on Sunday, July 20, after drowning off the coast of Costa Rica, is most well-known for his role as Theo Huxtable on the classic family sitcom "The Cosby Show," a show that launched the teen actor to stardom in the 1980s. However, Warner was also a chameleon of sorts throughout his career, tackling genres such as action, comedy and drama after his iconic tenure on the NBC series that made him a household name. More recently, Warner made fans' hearts skip a beat with his performances on the medical drama "The Resident," a TV stint that totaled nearly 100 episodes. Warner portrayed August Jeremiah "AJ" Austin, a triple-board certified surgeon on the Fox drama about the hardworking staff at Chastain Park Memorial Hospital in Atlanta. Warner starred opposite Eddie Griffin in this odd-couple sitcom about twentysomethings Malcom McGee and Eddie Sherman, whose differing styles clash as they live and work together in Kansas City, Missouri. Venus Williams wins a doubles match at Washington in her first tournament in more than a yearNew Foto - Venus Williams wins a doubles match at Washington in her first tournament in more than a year

WASHINGTON (AP) — Competing at a tournament for the first time in more than a year, and in doubles for the first time in nearly three,Venus Williamshit a big serve on her initial delivery atthe DC Openon Monday and, curiously, it was wiped out by a foot-fault call. The 45-year-old Williams, an owner of 21 Grand Slam titles across singles and doubles, smiled incredulously, as did the other three players involved in the match in front of a full crowd that eventually included NBA star Kevin Durant. And then Williams carried on, displaying her trademark power on some strokes while teaming with Hailey Baptiste for a 6-3, 6-1 victory against 2014 Wimbledon runner-upEugenie Bouchardand Clervie Ngounoue. "It's just nice to be able to play. Where I am at this year is so much different where I was at last year. It's night and day, being able to be here and prepare for the tournament as opposed to preparing for surgery a year ago," said Williams, who spoke in an interview with NBC earlier this month about having a procedure to remove fibroids from her uterus. "At the end of the day, it doesn't really matter if your health is not there. So it definitely put it in perspective for me and maybe made it easier to make the decision to maybe come back out here and maybe play even freer." Her most recent match had been at the Miami Open in March 2024, and she said Sunday she had two goals in Washington: to have fun and to win. She did both — winning, yes, and contributing plenty to the cause, but also having a good time, high-fiving or fist-bumping Baptiste after some of their best points, laughing after others and waving to an appreciative group of fans that roared over and over for Williams. She and Baptiste hugged when it ended. "The crowd was insane. From the moment we stepped out of the players area, you could kind of feel the buzz. Walking onto the court, just felt all the love for the both of us," said Baptiste, a 23-year-old from Washington. "I was obviously very nervous to play with her. I didn't want to let her down, first match back and everything." It was full at 3,000-seat John Harris Court, where Durant showed up late in the first set, while across the way at the 7,500-capacity main stadium, only a few dozen spectators were scattered in the stands for an all-American singles match in which Reilly Opelka defeated Murphy Cassone. Asked to comment about the court assignments, tournament director Daniel Vallverdú said: "The tournament works to balance full singles and doubles ATP and WTA schedules, while coordinating with broadcaster requests for court assignments." When Williams, wearing a white visor as she so often has, was introduced before participating in doubles for the first time since the 2022 U.S. Open — when her partner was younger sister Serena — the stadium announcer mentioned that Venus has "one of the best serves in the history of the game," that she "turned pro in the last century" and "has won everything." That includes seven major singles trophies — five at Wimbledon, two at the U.S. Open — and an additional 14 in doubles with Serena, plus four Olympic gold medals. "She's 14 years older than me and still plugging away," said Bouchard, 31, a former top-five player who announced that next week's tournament in Montreal will be the last of her career. "I have nothing but respect for her. She's such a legend. That was a pretty cool crowd for a doubles match." They sure were into it Monday, standing with phone cameras raised high when Venus first appeared at the court — and again when it ended. There will be other opportunities to see her this week: In singles, Williams was scheduled to play Tuesday night against Peyton Stearns, a 23-year-old American currently ranked No. 35 who won NCAA singles and team championships at the University of Texas. "I have been training for months to get to this moment," Williams said. ___ More AP tennis:https://apnews.com/hub/tennis

TheDallas Cowboyshave a new head coach, offensive coordinator and defensive play-caller for the2025 NFL season. Cowboysplayers, coaches and staff arrived in Oxnard, California for training camp this week. Wide receiverCeeDee Lamband quarterbackDak Prescottare back and healthy for the franchise's first season under coach Brian Schottenheimer. On defense, star edge rusherMicah Parsonsleads the way as formerChicago Bears head coach Matt Eberflus takes overon that side of the ball. Parsons, the No. 12 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, is entering the final year of his rookie contract. Parsons and the Cowboys have yet to agree on a long-term extension. Parsons attended minicamp, andhis team attempted to secure an extension last offseasonbut was denied as the team prioritized extensions for Lamb and Prescott. It's no surprise Parsons' contract was a big line of questioning for Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones at the opening day of training camp. "Just because we sign him doesn't mean we're going to have him," Jones said. "He was hurt six games last year, seriously. We've signed, I remember signing a player for the highest-paid at the position in the league and he got knocked out two-thirds of the year in Dak Prescott. So there's a lot of things you can think about, just as the player does, when you're thinking about committing and guaranteeing money." To be clear, Parsons missed four games in 2024, not six as Jones states here. Parsons still managed 12 sacks in 13 games and made the Pro Bowl for the fourth year in a row. #Cowboysowner Jerry Jones randomly takes a shot at Micah Parsons, saying even if they sign him, it doesn't mean they'll have him, because he was hurt for 6 games last year (fact check: he only missed 4).He then also says they made Dak Prescott the richest player in football —…pic.twitter.com/g6T8FnEEOX — Ari Meirov (@MySportsUpdate)July 21, 2025 "Contracts are four, five years, okay?" "I've talked with people that have talked to him, let's put it like that," he said. "I don't necessarily talk to these agents or I don't necessarily talk to attorneys and I do stuff everywhere. "Babe" Star James Cromwell Remembers Going Vegan on the 'Second Day of Filming'

Universal/Getty BabeactorJames Cromwell's time on the fictional farm transformed his way of eating. TheSuccessionstar, 85, who played farmer Arthur Hoggett in the Oscar Award-winning 1995 children's movie, toldThe Guardianhow just a few days on set made him opt for a plant-based diet. "On the second day of filming, I broke for lunch before everybody else. All the animals I'd worked with that morning were on the table, cut up, fricasseed, roasted and seared. That was when I decided to become a vegan," he recalled in the July 21article. In the movie, Cromwell's character wins the titular pig and rather than eating the piglet, he chooses to show it at an upcoming fair. During this time, Babe bonds with fellow farm animals and learns to herd sheep. Alamy Cromwell described the cooperation and disobedience of a gaggle of ducks, sheep, border collies, horses and other farm animals (most of which were real despite one animatronic sheep and some puppets) behind the scenes of the heartwarming film. He explained that a trainer worked with the sheep for "five months" trying to perfect the final scene. When the animals did as they were supposed to, the crowd of "extras we'd gathered from the local town – went berserk," Cromwell said. According to Cromwell, viewers had similar dietary responses to the beloved movie. "The only negative thing I ever heard about Babe was from a woman who said it ruined her relationship with her daughter," he said. "They used to enjoy Big Macs together and now her daughter wouldn't eat animals. I thought: 'If that's what you based your relationship on, it sucks anyway!'" The actor is a longtime animal activist andPETA advocate— in 2023, he evenhelped save a piglet (aptly named Babe) from slaughter. "Having had the privilege of witnessing and experiencing pigs' intelligence and inquisitive personalities while filming the movieBabechanged my life and my way of eating, and so I jumped at the chance to save this real-life Babe," Cromwell said in a statement from PETA at the time. The pig was taken to an animal shelter, according to Cromwell. Read the original article onPeople

Rapper Ca$h Out sentenced to life in prison on rape, prostitution ring chargesNew Foto - Rapper Ca$h Out sentenced to life in prison on rape, prostitution ring charges

Rapper Ca$h Out was sentenced to life in prison on Monday, July 21, after being convicted in a rape and racketeering case in Georgia, attorneys said. The Atlanta-based rapper, whose legal name is John-Michael Gibson, was found guilty July 18, of charges including rape, aggravated sodomy and violating the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act for leading a prostitution enterprise, a spokesperson for the Fulton County District Attorney's Office told USA TODAY. Gibson was also convicted of two counts of trafficking a person, pimping, pandering, keeping a place of prostitution, battery, possession of a firearm during commission of felony and other crimes, Fulton County media relations director Pallavi Bailey said. He was found not guilty of felony aggravated assault, Gibson's defense Attorney Careton R. Matthews said. During the trial, Matthews told USA TODAY he argued the state failed to prove its case, called some of the charges against him "overblown," and said testimony from the accusers showed they "voluntarily reconnected with Gibson and contradicted themselves repeatedly." Gibson, who rose to fame more than a decade ago with hits including"Cashin' Out"and"She Twerkin," had been on trial since June 2 before Fulton County Superior Court Judge Melynee Leftridge. Gibson's mother, Linda Smith, and his friend, Tyrone Taylor, were also convicted in connection to the case in which prosecutors told a 12-person jury they ran a business and lured victims into prostitution. 'A little bit naive':Linkin Park talks Emily Armstrong backlash, the Chester Bennington song they won't play Before sentencing, the judge said evidence at trial had "shown the very worst of human behavior toward other human beings," local media outletWXIA-TVreported. The judge said the verdict reflected prosecutors had "proved beyond a reasonable doubt that the diabolical conduct of the defendants occurred, and her sentence would be responsive to that." The judge sentenced Gibson to life and an additional 70 years in connection to the case. Smith was sentenced to 30 years for her crimes, and Taylor received the same sentence as Gibson, Matthews confirmed. "We do respect the court's process and jury's decision, however we're disappointed with the verdict and the sentence," Matthews said Monday afternoon. Is Chris Paul joining the best Clippers team of his career?New Foto - Is Chris Paul joining the best Clippers team of his career?

As he enters his 21st and final NBA season, Chris Paul has decided to spend it in Los Angeles with a team he's all too familiar with. Paul is expected to sign with the Clippers, putting a period on what has been an absolutely tremendous offseason for the organization after acquiring John Collins, Brook Lopez and Bradley Beal as well. Paul, who is now 40, just came off a year in San Antonio in which he started all 82 games, proving he's still very capable of being an impact player. The point guard might have had pedestrian numbers (8.8 points and 7.4 assists per game) compared to his prime, but the stats only tell part of the story. He'll join a Clippers team where the ball will be in the hands of James Harden and Kawhi Leonard a fair bit, meaning he's likely to play a role that supports him being even more opportunistic in regard to establishing himself. With Collins and Derrick Jones Jr. on the roster, Paul will have several lob targets at his disposal, just as he'll have shooters who can fill the wing in the form of Bogdan Bogdanović and Beal, who is likely to play a not insignificant amount of minutes alongside Paul. The addition of Paul, in conjunction with the organization's other moves this summer, has catapulted the Clippers into contender status, at least assuming Leonard is as healthy as he looked in the playoffs against the Denver Nuggets. The depth chart of the team is rather ridiculous as well. If we assume a starting lineup of Harden, Beal, Leonard, Collins and Ivica Zubac, the secondary rotation will consist of Paul, Bogdanović, Nicolas Batum, Jones and Lopez, forming one of the most potent 10-man rotations in the NBA. Paul's leadership qualities might allow him to take the starting spot over Beal, but if so, the Clippers will only have an even stronger scoring punch on their second unit. While this won't be at all similar to the Lob City version of the Clippers, with Paul feeding Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan, there's a case to be made that this could be the best Clippers team Paul has ever been on.

NEW YORK (AP) — Emma Meesseman, the 2019 WNBA Finals MVP who last played in the league in 2022, is joining the New York Liberty, a person familiar with the decision told The Associated Press on Monday. The timing of the arrival of the 32-year-old from Belgium in the U.S. will be determined by how long it takes to get her visa, according to the person who spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity because no official announcement has been made. ESPN first reported Meesseman's decision. The two-time All-Star, who helped the Washington Mystics win the 2019 title, has been focused on leading the Belgium national team since her last season in the WNBA, which she spent with the Chicago Sky. Meesseman played with Natasha Cloud, whom New York acquired in the offseason, in Washington when the Mystics won their championship six years ago. Meesseman helped Belgium win the EuroBasket title last month to qualify for next year's World Cup. She joins a stacked New York team with Breanna Stewart, Jonquel Jones and Sabrina Ionescu that won its first championship last year. The 6-foot-4 forward also considered Minnesota and Phoenix. The Liberty currently sit second in the standings, 3 1/2 games behind the Lynx. Meesseman has dominated overseas in her time away from the WNBA. She was named the EuroBasket MVP twice in the past three years. And she helped Belgium reach the medal round at the Paris Olympics before it lost to France in overtime in the semifinals and then Australia in the bronze-medal game. New York signed Australian forward Stephanie Talbot earlier Monday. She was waived by Golden State last week. ___ AP WNBA:https://apnews.com/hub/wnba-basketball
