Legendary metal singer and frontman Ozzy Osbourne died Tuesday. He was 76. Osbourne leaves behind quite the legacy. After a successful (and, at times, controversial) music career both as a solo artist and as the frontman for Black Sabbath, Osbourne was introduced to an entirely new audience on the MTV reality show "The Osbournes." Given the hard-rocking, energetic nature of some of his most popular songs, Osbourne made a few appearances at NFL games over his career. One of those appearances came prior to a New England Patriots game in 2005. The Patriots used Black Sabbath's "Crazy Train" to introduce its players during the team's dynasty. Prior to the team's opener in 2005, it invited Osbourne to sing the song at the stadium in person. He obliged. The Patriots thanked Osbourne for being the voice of that introduction in a tweet Tuesday. Condolences to his family and all who mourn his loss.pic.twitter.com/n21dmLvBzj — New England Patriots (@Patriots)July 22, 2025 Osbourne made a similar appearance during the Los Angeles Rams' season opener in 2022. Doing a live performance of two songs during halftime as the team took on the Buffalo Bills. His sports moments weren't limited to just NFL games. In 2003, he appeared at a Chicago Cubs game, where he sang an ... interesting ... rendition of "Take Me Out to the Ball Game" with his wife Sharon. Osbourne also found himself connected to the St. Louis Blues thanks to an unfortunate image. In 1984,Osbourne was arrestedfor public intoxication. In his mugshot, Osbourne is wearing a Blues jersey. He had played in St. Louis a few days before the arrest. Osbourne, however, decided to poke fun at the moment years later. When the Blues were in the midst of a playoff run in 2019, Osbourne tweeted out an image of the mugshot with the message "Let's go @StLouisBlues." Let's go@StLouisBlues!pic.twitter.com/VxYupt288K — Ozzy Osbourne (@OzzyOsbourne)June 10, 2019 He later tweeted out a picture of himself wearing an updated Blues jersey to show he was still supporting the team. TheBlues repliedto that tweet Tuesday, saying, "St. Louis loves you, Ozzy. RIP."

"His treatment has been moving in a positive direction and as a managed condition the treatment cycle will continue into next year," palace sources said on Dec. 20, just a few days before he continued tradition by stepping out for church on Christmas with his family. On March 27, the palace announced that King Charlesbriefly hospitalized following an adverse reaction to his routine cancer treatment. The sovereign was admitted to the London Clinic (where he had had the prostate operation last year) after experiencing "temporary side effects that required a short period of observation in hospital," his office said. Sources said that such setbacks are not uncommon. A royal source described the scare as "the most minor bump in the road that's very much heading in the right direction," and hereturned to work the following week. Darren Staples - WPA Pool/Gett In late May, the King and Queen, 78,traveled to Canada for an official two-day trip, and an aide shared how he was managing his illness as he continued with his royal duties. "The thing you learn about this illness is that you just manage it, and that's what he does," the aide said then. "Medical science has made incredible advances, and I genuinely see no difference in him," they added. "As long as you just do what the doctors say, just live your life as normal as possible. That's exactly what he is doing." Earlier that month, the King sharedwhat "can help" during cancer treatmentin conversation with a young man who was also undergoing treatment for cancer. Connor McDavidwas back on the ice playing competitive hockey in recent days, but he wasn't at an NHL rink. TheEdmonton Oilerssuperstar caused a stir in his hometown of Newmarket, Ontario in Canada when he and teammateLeon Draisaitlshowed up as perhaps the most accomplished ringers to play in a beer league hockey game with non-professionals. Even more stunning: They then lost the game. Both players were wearing Oilers practice jerseys, according to videos on social media in the aftermath of their appearance, but TSN reportedneither McDavid nor Draisaitl scored a goal in a 6-2 loss. At 91, Dottie Dorion has ridden herPeloton bikemore than 2,900 times. But when the fitness company's age categories topped out at 60-plus, the veteran athlete decided she wasn't going to compete quietly with "those young 80-year-olds." After a 14-month campaign that involved lawyers and letters, Dorion successfully pushed Peloton to create new age brackets for riders 90 and older. Dorion maintains an active lifestyle that includes yoga classes, weight workouts and daily rides on her Peloton. The routine reflects a commitment to fitness that began in childhood, when she spent entire days outdoors before television became commonplace. "We didn't have TV. So, you know, we were outside all the time," Dorion said. "We'd go out in the morning, we'd come back when the dinner bell rang at night." Dorion's athletic achievements span decades and include approximately 250 marathons and triathlons, including threeIronmancompetitions. She completed her first Ironman in 1985 at age 52, after learning to swim specifically for the event. "I said, oh my God, I've gotta learn how to swim," Dorion recalled. "So I did, I learned how to swim." How Dorion advocated for seniors to Peloton Peloton organizes riders into age groups for peer comparison and competition, but only about 6% of users are over 65. When Dorion discovered the maximum age category was 60-plus, she wasn't happy about having to compete with younger people. In a letter to Peloton's CEO last year, Dorion wrote: "I have owned a Peloton cycle since December 2018. I am very serious about maintaining fitness." The initial response was silence. Dorion then enlisted legal help, leading to months of correspondence before Peloton agreed to add both 90-plus and 100-plus age categories. "What took you so long?" was Dorion's response to the final approval email. Dorion was grateful that her persistence paid off. "You can never give up," Dorion said. "If you're doing the right things for the right reasons, it's gonna turn out well." Players such as star wide receiver Garrett Wilson, cornerback Sauce Gardner and new quarterback Justin Fields reporting for the team's training camp Tuesday were arriving at the Jets' facility in Florham Park, New Jersey, to a fully renovated locker room with some state-of-the-art upgrades. The upgrades, which the team said had been in the works for a few years, came aftera players poll released by the NFL Players Associationin Februarygave the Jets a D-plus for their locker room, ranking 26th in the league. The team moved into its current facility in 2008. Woody Johnson received an F and was the lowest-ranked owner. The team received an overall ranking of 29th. "We take pride in having a first-class environment for the players," Robert Mastroddi, the Jets' senior vice president of security and facility operations, told the team's website. "These upgrades will certainly provide more comfort, but they also will help with wellness, efficiency and ultimately performance. There is a commitment to winning and that's where this all derived from." The Jets, who have the NFL's longest active playoff drought at 14 seasons, have a new general manager in Darren Mougey and head coach in Aaron Glenn. The two revamped the roster this offseason by infusing more youth —moves that included releasing veteranssuch as Aaron Rodgers, Davante Adams, C.J. Mosley, Greg Zuerlein and Thomas Morstead. The new lockers, designed by the Texas-based Longhorn Locker Company, have fully automated video screens — the Jets say they're the first pro or college team to have them — that include the players' headshots, names, hometowns and colleges. There also are three separate fans to dry their helmets, shoulder pads and cleats in an effort to reduce moisture and lower risks of staph infections. Mastroddi said the Jets are also the first team to have an on-site barbershop that includes two vintage barber chairs. "We want to make it comfortable, keep players in the building because they want to be there," Mastroddi said.
