Caitlin Clark injury update: Is Fever guard playing today against Mystics?New Foto - Caitlin Clark injury update: Is Fever guard playing today against Mystics?

Indiana FeverguardCaitlin Clarkhas been out with a right groin injury for nearly a month, leaving many fans wondering when the All-Star guard will make her return to the court. Clark will miss the Fever's matchup against the Washington Mystics on Friday, her 12th consecutive absence since suffering the groin injury July 15. Clark, who previously missed time with a left quad and a left groin injury, has been sidelined 20 of the Fever's 33 games this season. Indiana is 8-5 with Clark in the lineup and 10-10 without her on the floor. Clark's lengthy absence marks uncharted territory for the 2024 Rookie of the Year, who never missed a game during her four years at Iowa or during her rookie campaign with the Fever. "I've never been through anything like this, which is probably why it's been so hard," Clark said during a Aug. 8 episode ofSue Bird's podcast, "Bird's Eye View.""I've never really dealt with injury. It's probably been a challenge in itself because when I was first feeling pain, I didn't understand it." Clark isn't the only injury Indiana is navigating. The Fever lost guardsSydney Colson(left ACL tear) andAari McDonald(broken right foot) to season-ending injuries, further depleting the team's depth at point guard. The Fever signedguard Odyssey Sims to a hardship contracton Sunday andguard Kyra Lambert to a seven-day contract on Thursday. Here's what we know about Clark's injury status, including a full injury timeline: Clark (right groin injury) will likely be ruled out of the Fever's matchup against the Washington Mystics on Friday in Indianapolis, which is set to tip off at 7:30 p.m. ET (4:30 p.m. PT) on ESPN. Indiana hasn't announced a timetable for Clark's return. Earlier this week, Fever coach Stephanie White said Clark has resumed running, but hasn't returned to practice just yet, meaning her return won't be anytime soon. If Clark is ruled out, Friday's game against the Mystics would mark her 21st total absence of the year. Clark suffered a right groin injury in the final minute of the Fever's 85-77 victory over the Sun at TD Garden in Boston on July 15. With 39.1 seconds remaining in the contest, Clark completed a bounce pass to Kelsey Mitchell to put the Fever up 84-75. After the pass, Clark immediately grabbed for her right groin and grimaced as she gingerly walked over and headbutted the stanchion. She did not return to the game. May 24:Clark suffered a left quad injury during theFever's 90-88 loss to the New York Liberty, where she recorded a double-double with 18 points and 10 assists. Clark couldn't pinpoint the specific play that caused her injury, but noted that it happened early in the contest. Clark said, "Adrenaline covers up a lot of stuff when you're in the heat of battle. After the game, I had some pain, and then we got an MRI, and that kind of gave me the result that I didn't want to see." She missed the Fever's next five games. June 14:Clark returned to Indiana's lineup in theFever's 102-88 win over the Libertyand dropped 32 points, nine assists and eight rebounds in her first game back. June 24:Clark suffered a left groin injury inthe Fever's 94-86 winover theSeattle Storm, which resulted in Clark missing the team's next four games. Fever coachStephanie White saidshe learned of Clark's groin injury the following night after Clark alerted team trainers of discomfort. July 1:Clark was ruled out ofthe Fever's 2025 Commissioner's Cup winover theMinnesota Lynxin Minneapolis. That didn't stopClark from rightfully celebrating the team's hardware. July 9:Clark returned to the Fever's lineup in theFever's 80-61 loss to the Golden State Valkyries.Clark was limited to 10 points, shooting 4 of 12 from the field and 2 of 5 from the 3-point line, in addition to six assists, five rebounds and four turnovers. Following the blowout loss, Clark said it was "going to take me a second to get my wind back. ... Just trying to get my legs under me." July 15:Clark suffered a right groin injury in the final minute of the Fever's 85-77 victory over the Sun at TD Garden in Boston. White later confirmed Clark "felt a little something in her groin." This marked the last game for which Clark suited up. July 18:Clark announcedthat she would sit out the2025 WNBA All-Star Gamein Indianapolis, where she was named a team captain. Clark was also set to participate in the 3-point contest. She said, "I am incredibly sad and disappointed to say I can't participate ... I have to rest my body." July 24:TheFever said Clark's medical evaluationsconfirmed there's "no additional injuries or damage," but the team said it will be cautious with Clark's rehab and recovery. August 8:During an appearance onSue Bird's podcast, "Bird's Eye View,"Clarkspokeabout the frustrations of her injury-filled season: "It's not like I have a training camp to build up to play in my first game again. It's like no, you're tossed into Game 30 — like, 'Go try to play well.' It's hard, it really is." August 10:Fever coach Stephanie White said Clark has progressed in her recovery and has started running full court again, but Clark hasn't returned to practice just yet: an important step in her ramp-up. "She's been able to get a little bit more in her full-court running with all of her body weight... She's been able to do a little more on the court in terms of how she moves, but not into practice yet," Whitesaid. Clark is averaging 16.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and a career-high 8.8 assists in 13 games this season. Her assists average is the second-highest in the league, behind Phoenix's Alyssa Thomas (9.0). Why the NCAA didn't force Michigan to vacate wins as part of its punishment for the Connor Stalions scandalNew Foto - Why the NCAA didn't force Michigan to vacate wins as part of its punishment for the Connor Stalions scandal

There was no serious consideration for the NCAA to vacate any wins from Michigan's 2023 national title season. The NCAA said Friday that Michigan didn't lose any wins as part ofpunishment for its advance scouting schemebecause the saga didn't involve any ineligible athletes and because the NCAA had immediately alerted the Big Ten about what Michigan was doing. Why did NCAA not vacate Michigan wins?NCAA committee members says that is two-fold: (1) there was no ineligible athlete competing and (2) the NCAA took "very quick" action in alerting the Big Ten to the investigation, which resulted in Jim Harbaugh's in-season suspension. — Ross Dellenger (@RossDellenger)August 15, 2025 Michigan was fined — directly or indirectly — tens of millions of dollars, former coach Jim Harbaugh was given a 10-year show-cause penalty and Connor Stalions got an eight-year show-cause penalty from the NCAA on Friday. The NCAA highlighted the lengths that Stalions went to steal teams' signs via in-person scouting and that "aspects of the record suggest that there may have been broader acceptance of the scheme throughout the program. At minimum, there was a willful intent not to learn more about Stalions' methods." [Join or create a Yahoo Fantasy Football league for the 2025 NFL season] However, the NCAA did not take the step of vacating any wins or even giving Michigan a postseason ban. The NCAA even said in the infractions report that a postseason ban was "required" in Michigan's case and that a multi-year ban would be appropriate. However, the NCAA said that "a postseason ban would unfairly penalize student-athletes for the actions of coaches and staff who are no longer associated with the Michigan football program" and "thus, a more appropriate penalty is an offsetting financial penalty." After the NCAA notified the Big Ten of Stalions' scouting in October 2023, the Big Ten suspended Harbaugh for the final three games of the season less than a month later. Michigan, which went 15-0 on the way to the national title, won all three of those games and even beat Penn State and Ohio State without Harbaugh on the sidelines. There once was a precedent, however, for the NCAA to vacate wins for incidents that do not involve player eligibility. The NCAA forced Penn State to vacate all wins from 1998 through 2011 as part of its punishment for the Jerry Sandusky sex abuse scandal and the Nittany Lions faced a postseason ban. But in 2015, as part of a settlement with Pennsylvania state officials, the NCAA restored Penn State's vacated wins. The most recent team to have wins vacated is Arizona State. The Sun Devils had two wins vacated from the 2022 season under coach Herm Edwards and eight in 2021. Kentucky had nine regular-season wins and a bowl game vacated in 2021.

Anna Faris, Regina Hall to Return for New 'Scary Movie'New Foto - Anna Faris, Regina Hall to Return for New 'Scary Movie'

Anna Faris and Regina Hall are scaring up a reunion. The stars will return as Cindy and Brenda for the next installment of the "Scary Movie" franchise. Marlon Wayans confirmed the news in a post on hisInstagram, sharing a photo of the duo from the first film. "We can't wait to bring Brenda and Cindy back to life and be reunited with our great friends Keenen, Shawn and Marlon — three men we'd literally die for (in Brenda's case, again)," Faris and Hall said in a statement about their return. More from Variety Regina Hall Joins Jennifer Garner in 'Five-Star Weekend' Series at Peacock 'Scary Movie' Reboot From the Wayans Bros. Sets June 2026 Release Date Regina Hall Strikes First-Look Deal With MGM Alternative, Sets Celebrity Competition Series 'Squad Games' The reboot from the Wayans brothers is coming to theaters on June 12, 2026. The brothers are reuniting for the first time in 18 years to write an original script for the restart of the horror parody franchise, writing and producing the movie alongside Rick Alvarez. Jonathan Glickman, Alexandra Loewy and Thomas Zadra are executive producers. "Scary Movie" (2000) was one of the highest-grossing R-rated horror movies of all time. The film opened at $42.5 million at the box office, marking the biggest debut for an R-rated horror movie and a Black director at that time. The "Scary Movie" film franchise was developed by Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans and Keenen Ivory Wayans. Keenen Ivory Wayans wrote and directed the first two films. Marlon Wayans and Shawn Wayans wrote and starred in the first two films. This will be the sixth film in the franchise. Miramax is the studio behind the series, which Paramount Pictures is releasing worldwide. "Scary Movie" is part of Paramount's first look deal with Miramax. Marlon Wayans previouslyspoke outregarding Harvey Weinstein's role in "stealing" the franchise from his family during a September appearance on the "Club Shay Shay" podcast, citing a "crappy" deal with Miramax for the first film as the foundation for troubles to come. "It was so toxic," Marlon WayanstoldVarietyearlier this year. "The way the Weinsteins handled the business of 'Scary Movie,' I could write a 'Scary Movie' about it. We probably should have sued." When Jonathan Glickman took over as head ofMiramaxa year ago, the studio was struggling to reboot the franchise. Before Glickman took the reins, the studio was developing a reboot of "Scary Movie" independently from the Wayans brothers — though they did ask Marlon Wayans if he would shoot a cameo. He wasn't interested. "The only way that I'm a part of it is if me and my family are delivering it, because this is our baby," he said. For his part, Glickman didn't like the initial script, believing it lacked the right "flavor." He asked to meet with the Wayans family to hear their pitch for the franchise's future. He came away determined to make a deal. To sweeten the offer, he agreed to give the brothers more equity in the movies. "You need to have some connective tissue with the original property," GlickmantoldVarietyabout the deal. "It gives legitimacy to a project so it doesn't seem like just a cash grab." Hall is represented by Independent Artist Group. Faris is represented by Gersh, Range Media Partners, Sloane, Offer, Weber & Dern and imPRint. Deadline was first to report the news. Boxer Gervonta Davis will not face misdemeanor charges for battery-domestic violence because the alleged victim, Davis' former girlfriend, and the alleged witness, the woman's mother, failed to cooperate, according to the Miami State's Attorney Office. Davis, 30, was arrested July 11 and the charge stemmed from an alleged incident with his former girlfriend, who is the mother of his two children, on Father's Day, June 15, in Doral, Florida. "This case was dropped as the victim is declining to prosecute per her … attorney," Ed Griffith, Public Information Officer for the Miami State's Attorney Office, told USA TODAY Sports by email. "Her sentiments were directly confirmed by the Assistant State Attorney handling the prosecution. "The witness to the incident, who is the victim's mother, also failed to cooperate and failed, after being subpoenaed for a prefile conference on Thursday (Aug. 7). Followed up attempts to contact the witness via phone were unsuccessful. The incident itself was not observed by the police officer who had been called to the scene eliminating him as a possible witness to what had transpired." TheSaturday Night Livealum, 31, is in the process of removingupwards of 200 tattoosthat he had inked all over his body, however, he recently opened up about one in particular that he confirmed he's keeping. Davidson shared onThe Breakfast Club Power 105.1that his "feelings changed" about the large amount of tattoos he got done "in a span of two years" in his early 20s, admitting that he's not a fan of them now like he used to be when he was younger. "My tattoos sucked. They were all drug-fueled," he told the hosts of the radio show on Wednesday, Aug. 13, explaining that his time in rehab ultimately gave him second thoughts about his prior ink decisions. Dia Dipasupil/Getty "I just looked at myself in rehab for the first time when I was sober and was just like, 'Oh no. What did I do'?" recalled Davidson, who'scurrently expecting his first babywith his girlfriend,Elsie Hewitt, 29. Don't get the comedian wrong, though! He said on the radio show that he "thinks tattoos are cool," however, tattoos that have "meaning" to them. He admitted his did not necessarily have any particular significance when he got them done at the time. "Mine just weren't," theBupkisactor said of his tattoos' lack of meaning. "So I just started burning them off. Burning them off sucks," he added of the lengthy and painful removal process. There is one tattoo, specifically, that Davidson excitedly spoke about keeping on his body: Hillary Clinton. "Hillary's staying, I love Hillary. I got Hilary after she lost," he told the radio hosts of the 2016 presidential candidate whom he got inked on his right leg in December 2017. https://people-app.onelink.me/HNIa/kz7l4cuf "One, I know her personally and she's a lovely lady," he said of Clinton. "But also ... she's tough, man. She was really at the forefront of some bulls--- and as someone who's been at the forefront of some bulls---, I just wanted to, like, cheer her up a little bit." When asked what Clinton said about Davidson's tattoo, the comic revealed that "she loves it," and even dialed him to inquire if her inspired ink would be a part of his removal process. Bobby Bank/GC Images/Getty; Reformation "What was cute was when I got them removed, she hit me up and was like, 'You're not removing me are you'?" he recalled of the politician's concern. "I was like, 'Of course not!'," he recalled, making clear, "Hillary stays." Davidson then shared advice for those who are considering permanently inking themselves, suggesting that they put a good amount of thought into the decision prior to getting it done. "It sucks. If anyone is thinking of getting a tattoo, I would recommend thinking about it for a couple years, 'cause your feelings change." Davidson previously said he plans to only keep "two or three" of his tats. Earlier in the interview, the Staten Island native revealed that his "Wu-Tang" tattoo is staying when talking about the hip-hop group — which also hails from the New York City borough — he has inked on his shoulder above his Verrazzano Bridge tattoo. Of the Wu-Tang tattoo, the comedian previously toldComplex, "They are Staten Island. That's what Staten Island is." He also added: "Mushrooms is a fun thing to do," when the interviewer complimented the tattoo. In January, a source told PEOPLE that theSNLstar spent $200,000 to undergo the process of having his multiple inkings removed from his body. "He just woke up one day and wanted them gone, and it's been a years-long process," the source said of the procedure. "Things are going really well for him," the insider told PEOPLE at the time. "Things are heading in the right direction." Davidson started the long-term journey ofremoving his tattoos in 2020. Tim Tebow, Deion Sanders headline AP's list of best All-Americans from the last 100 yearsNew Foto - Tim Tebow, Deion Sanders headline AP's list of best All-Americans from the last 100 years

In the last 100 years of college football, no quarterback has been more dominant than Tim Tebow. The Florida star broke the game for three seasons, passing with deadly efficiency and pounding in at least a dozen rushing touchdowns each year. That dominance led to Tebow placing in the top-5 in Heisman voting in three straight seasons, including a first-place finish in 2007. It also resulted in Tebow winning the national championship twice during his college career. Though his days at Florida are long gone, Tebow is still getting accolades for his performance there. The Associated Press on Thursday named Tebow as its first-team quarterback on its list of thebest All-Americansfrom the past 100 years. The AP tabbed 12 writers to vote on the best All-Americans over the last century. Voters had a few rules to consider before casting their votes. Players needed to be an AP first-team All-American at least once over their college careers. A player's professional career did not factor into the voting. Quarterback was, as you might expect, going to be a crowded position. Tebow ultimately won out over Texas great Vince Young, who was named to the AP's second team on its all-century list. VILLARS-SUR-OLLON, Switzerland (AP) — Five teams and 30 of the world's top cyclists have been removed from the women's Tour de Romandie in a dispute overGPS trackerson riders, the sport's governing body said as the race began Friday. The excluded riders made up nearly a third of the field for the three-day race in Switzerland and included 2024 Tour de France winner Katarzyna Niewiadoma. The International Cycling Union said the teams had been asked to each pick one rider to wear a GPS tracker ahead of a wider rollout of the device to all riders at the world championships in Rwanda next month. They refused to nominate riders and were excluded from the race, the UCI said. All 30 riders were listed as non-starters on the race website. "It is deplorable to witness the refusal of certain teams to move forward together to protect the safety of riders, and the UCI condemns their non-cooperation," the UCI said. It also claimed that some of the teams were part of an organization developing a rival tracking system. The exclusions may not be the end of the matter. The UCI said it "shall consider if other measures are warranted" under its regulations. In a joint statement, the five teams said they supported measures to make cycling safer but disagreed with how the UCI went about it. Forcing teams to pick one rider to wear the UCI-mandated device meant they had to "discriminate one rider against other riders," they said. "This action disregards the rights of teams and riders, applies the measure in a discriminatory manner, and contradicts the UCI's own stated commitment to dialogue with stakeholders," the teams said. "We are always at the forefront to make cycling a safer sport, but it should be achieved through collaboration, not coercion." The UCI says it wants to introduce the trackers to ensure a quick response to crashes. At last year's world championships in Switzerland, 18-year-old cyclistMuriel Furrerdied after sustaining a head injury in a crash. She was competing in the junior women's event on rain-slicked roads when she crashed in a forest area south of Zurich. She reportedly lay alone for almost an hour and a half before she was discovered at the side of the road and airlifted by helicopter to the hospital. ___ AP sports:https://apnews.com/sports
