What was Taylor Swift counting down to on her website today? It appears to be ... a vinyl drop. She announced thefirst and only pressing of the "Shiny Bug" collection, which features a "wintergreen & onyx marbled" vinyl as well as a "violet shimmer marbled vinyl" option. Each features the same new photo of Swift in a bejeweled black leotard, sparkly black gloves and fishnets. The new vinyls are only available until Aug. 20 or until supplies last. This is not the first time that Swift has announced new vinyls forThe Life of a Showgirl. She previously revealed variants of her album that came with corresponding vinyls during the initial album announcement. She currently has the"sweat and vanilla perfume Portofino orange glitter" vinyl, which is orange and green, on her website. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Taylor Swift (@taylorswift) Fans initially speculated that the pop star was preparing something major after a purple countdown appeared on Swift's website on Aug. 18. The site featured a ticking clock against a glittery purple background, with the countdown ending at 2 p.m. ET. Merchandise sales were temporarily disabled, fueling theories that a major drop was coming. Swift's website wasn't the only place purple was being used to promote whatever the announcement would be. When fans typed "Taylor Swift" into Google, purple confetti rained down on the screen. A red fiery heart emoji also appeared, with a purple text block that read, "And, baby, that's show business for you." This mirrored the Google animation ahead of Swift'sLife of a Showgirlalbum reveal, except this time the orange was swapped for purple. Swift's Apple Music page also featured the same glittery purple imagery. Fans online speculated about what the purple could mean. Some were certain that it was tied to a merch drop forThe Life of a Showgirl. Others were hopeful that the purple countdown would signal therelease of the album's first single. Some fans had even bigger theories: they believed the countdown could end with the reveal thatThe Life of a Showgirlwas actually a double album, with the second album featuring a purple color scheme. TikToker Britton Rae said ina videothat Swift's antics were making her feel "a little delulu," aka "delusional," and convinced that another album was coming — especially since Swift officially announcedShowgirlat exactly 12:12 a.m. on Aug. 12. "She was very adamant that this album only had 12 tracks on it," Rae said, pointing toSwift's New Heights podcast interview with boyfriend Travis Kelce. "What if there's another album that also has 12 tracks on it, and that's why we've done the 12:12?" Others speculated that the countdown could lead to an Eras Tour documentary. One TikToker pointed out ina videothat the purple glitter "could maybe lead to the behind-the-scenes of the Eras tour, sinceThe Life of a Showgirlis 'behind the curtain.'" The user also noted that Swift had filmed unseen footage from her final three shows of the Eras Tour in Vancouver. Sorry, ladies, there's one jobHelen Mirrenthinks you needn't fill. The renowned British actressrevealed in a recent interview that she doesn't think a woman could playJames Bond. The fictional spy, who has been played over decades by a rotating cast of A-listers includingDaniel Craigand Pierce Brosnan, has yet to be embodied by a woman. Mirren, 80, thinks that's as it should be, telling Saga Magazine,in an interview published Aug. 18, that "James Bond has to be a guy." Mirren, who is herself playing a detective in the upcoming film "Thursday Murder Club" (in theaters Aug. 28), was interviewed alongside Brosnan, who also appears in the movie. Daniel Craig got a 007 sendoff likeno other. How Sean Connery, Roger Moore said goodbye to Bond "I'm such a feminist, but James Bond has to be a guy. You can't have a woman. It just doesn't work," she said. "James Bond has to be James Bond, otherwise it becomes something else." Mirren did add that her latest character, a retired spy named Elizabeth, was a true representation of women who populated the world of espionage. "So many women have worked in that world. She's a manifestation of a reality, that's for sure," she told the outlet, adding that her portrayal is probably more true to life thanthe theatrics of 007. "More realistic. But not so much fun as Bond!" she quipped. This isnot Mirren's first timewading into the Bond world. Ina March interview with the Standard, the actress urged the writing of more movies about real-life women spies in place of a female 007. Helen Mirren curses atstreaming giant: 'I love Netflix, but (expletive) Netflix' "The whole concept of James Bond is drenched and born out of profound sexism," she told the outlet. "Women have always been a major and incredibly important part of the Secret Service, they always have been. And very brave. If you hear about what women did in the French Resistance, they're amazingly, unbelievably courageous. So I would tell real stories about extraordinary women who've worked in that world." Mirren's comments come amid questions of who will playBond next after Craig retiredfrom the role in 2021's "No Time to Die." In the past, Bond producer Barbara Broccoli has ruled out the possibility of a woman succeeding Craig in the role. But in February, Broccoli and her producing partner Michael G. Browns sign rookie wide receiver Isaiah Bond after sexual assault case is droppedNew Foto - Browns sign rookie wide receiver Isaiah Bond after sexual assault case is dropped

Undrafted rookie wide receiver Isaiah Bond signed with the Cleveland Browns on Monday, less than a week after a sexual assault case against him was dropped. Bond ran a 4.39 in the 40-yard dash at the NFL scouting combine — the ninth-fastest time among wide receivers — and was projected to be drafted in the middle rounds before he was accused of sexual assault and surrendered on April 10 in Frisco, Texas. A Collins County, Texas, grand jury determined Thursday that there was not enough evidence to indict Bond and dismissed the case. The Browns hosted Bond as one of their 30 predraft visits. Cleveland offensive coordinator Tommy Rees coached at Alabama the two seasons Bond was there, which also weighed into the decision. Cleveland general manager Andrew Berry said in a statement that the organization spent the past four months doing "extensive research that includes but is not limited to hearing from both sides of the case and receiving the results of an independently administered polygraph test. "Before the allegations, we also spent a great deal of time with Isaiah during the draft process on campus, at the Combine and at our facilities. His time at Alabama with Tommy Rees also weighed heavily on our assessment of his ability to operate successfully in a professional environment if brought into our organization. It is these touchpoints and more that gave us the necessary insights to make this decision." Bond spent last season at Texas. He appeared in 41 games in college and had 99 receptions for 1,428 yards and 10 touchdowns. To make room for Bond, Cleveland waived long snapper Brent Matiscik. Unsigned second-round pick Quinshon Judkins also had a domestic violence case against him dropped Thursday in Florida, but there was no word on when the running back might possibly be signed. The Browns conclude the preseason on Saturday against the Los Angeles Rams. Even though there are only a couple of weeks until the Sept. 7 opener against Cincinnati, coach Kevin Stefanski said Sunday he thinks both Bond and Judkins — or any player added to the roster this week — can make up for lost time. "That happens during the season, can happen in training camp where you got, you have to get players up to speed quickly," Stefanski said. "That happens sometimes you get a guy on a Wednesday and they have to play on a Sunday. So that's part of our job as coaches, is to get them ready to roll." ___ AP NFL:https://apnews.com/hub/nfl

2025 Tour Championship purse, payouts: How much is up for grabs at East Lake in the FedExCup Playoffs?New Foto - 2025 Tour Championship purse, payouts: How much is up for grabs at East Lake in the FedExCup Playoffs?

The end of the FedExCup Playoffs is here. The last 30 golfers standing will hit the course this week at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta with the FedExCup on the line. With it comes a massive $40 million purse — a quarter of which will go to the winner come Sunday afternoon. The purse is the largest on Tour each season, more than double that of what was offered at the British Open and PGA Championships. The U.S. Open had a $21.5 million purse to lead the major championships, just $500,000 more than what was offered at Augusta National. Outside of this limited playoff event, The Players Championship had a $25 million purse to lead the way in the sport. The purse this week is so big that the top eight finishers will take home a seven-figure prize. Even the person who comes in last will earn $355,000. By comparison, Andrew Novak won just $70,000 for his last-place finish at the BMW Championship. [Join or create a Yahoo Fantasy Football league for the 2025 NFL season] Scottie Scheffler, fresh off his fifth win of the season Sunday at the BMW Championship, is entering the Tour Championship with a massive lead in the FedExCup standings. That, however, doesn't matter anymore after the PGA Tour opted to eliminate the starting strokes format for this final event. Scheffler and the 29 golfers will all start the week at even par, meaning the playoff championship is still up for grabs. Scheffler, however, isundoubtedly the favorite. He has now won 12 times in the past two seasons on Tour, three of which have come at major championships, and he's finished inside the top 10 in every start he's made dating back to March. He's starting the weeklisted at +125 to win on BetMGM. If Scheffler can win this week, he'd be the first back-to-back winner in FedExCup history. "Like, it was your job to say that before, you know what I mean?" she told Jimmy Kimmel. Ross is a long-time friend of Barack and his wife Michelle Obama. ActressTracee Ellis Rosshas her fair share of impressive famous friends—but apparently, that doesn't make her any less susceptible to bad dates. In fact, in a recent interview, she explained how one of her most intuitive, influential friends actually "failed" to stop her from beginning a doomed relationship. Which friend was that, you might ask? None other than former PresidentBarack Obama. "I broke up with someone, and I remember running into the former president and he was like, 'I could have told you that,'" Ross recalled during an August 14 appearance onJimmy Kimmel Live. "And I was like, 'Well, you failed as a friend!' Like, it was your job to say that before, you know what I mean?" she continued, explaining that she always prefers her friends to speak up when they see things in her romantic relationships that she might miss. "Like, nip it in the bud." Getty Later during the talk show appearance, Ross revealed that there might be some ways the former first family could help her with her dating life. "I've never asked Michelle [Obama] to set me up, which I think perhaps is dumb and I need to get on that," she said. Getty Ross and the Obamas are long-time friends. Back in 2022, Michelle made a cameo on Ross's showBlack-ish.At the time, Ross explained to Jimmy Fallon that despite their friendship, she still tried to keep things respectful. "I was raised in the generation where your teachers and your friends' parents are Mr and Mrs. So, in public she's Mrs Obama, former First Lady," she said. "There's no question. I was calling her that also as my friend." Apparently, she even kept up the formality when Michelle asked her to call her by her first name. Michelle and Ross have appeared together at several events, appearing on stage together at The United State Of Women Summit in 2018 and Michelle's book tour the same year. Getty This April, Ross was also a guest on Michelle's podcast "IMO." During that conversation, Ross revealed thatshe only dates younger menbecause "a lot of men my age are steeped in a toxic masculinity and have been raised in a culture where there is a particular way that a relationship looks," as she put it on the show. 'Ketamine Queen' accused of selling fatal dose to Matthew Perry agrees to plead guiltyNew Foto - 'Ketamine Queen' accused of selling fatal dose to Matthew Perry agrees to plead guilty

LOS ANGELES (AP) — A woman known as the "Ketamine Queen," charged with sellingMatthew Perrythe drug that killed him, agreed to plead guilty Monday. Jasveen Sangha becomes the fifth and final defendant charged in theoverdose death of the "Friends" starto strike a plea agreement with federal prosecutors, avoiding a trial that had been planned for September. She agreed in a signed statement filed in court to plead guilty to five federal criminal charges, including providing the ketamine that led to Perry's death. In a brief statement, Sangha's lawyer Mark Geragos said only, "She's taking responsibility for her actions." Prosecutors had cast Sangha, a 42-year-old citizen of the U.S. and the U.K., as a prolific drug dealer who was known to her customers as the "Ketamine Queen," using the term often in press releases and court documents. She agreed to plead guilty to one count of maintaining a drug-involved premises, three counts of distribution of ketamine, and one count of distribution of ketamine resulting in death or serious bodily injury. The final plea deal came a year after federal prosecutors announced that five people had been charged in Perry's Oct. 28, 2023 death after a sweeping investigation. Sangha admitted in the agreement to selling four vials of ketamine to another man, Cody McLaury, hours before he died from an overdose in 2019. McLaury had no relationship to Perry. Prosecutors will drop three other counts related to the distribution of ketamine, and one count of distribution of methamphetamine that was unrelated to the Perry case. Sangha will officially change her plea to guilty at an upcoming hearing, where sentencing will be scheduled, prosecutors said. She could get up to 45 years in prison. The judge is not bound to follow any terms of the plea agreement, but prosecutors said in the document that they will ask for less than the maximum. She andDr. Salvador Plasencia, who pleaded guilty last month, had been the primary targets of the investigation. Three other defendants — Dr. Mark Chavez, Kenneth Iwamasa and Erik Fleming —pleaded guilty in exchange for their cooperation, which included statements implicating Sangha and Plasencia. Perry was found dead in his Los Angeles home by Iwamasa, his assistant. The medical examinerruled that ketamine, typically used as a surgical anesthetic, was the primary cause of death. Sangha presented a posh lifestyle on Instagram, with photos of herself with the rich and famous in cities around the globe. Prosecutors said she privately presented herself as a dealer who sold to the same kind of high-class customers. Perry had been using ketamine through his regular doctor as a legal, but off-label, treatment for depression, which has become increasingly common. Perry, 54, sought more ketamine than his doctor would give him. He began getting it from Plasencia about a month before his death, then started getting still more from Sangha about two weeks before his death, prosecutors said. Perry and Iwamasa found Sangha through Perry's friend Fleming. In their plea agreements, both men described the subsequent deals in detail. Fleming messaged Iwamasa saying Sangha's ketamine was "unmarked but it's amazing," according to court documents. Fleming texted Iwamasa that she only deals "with high end and celebs. If it were not great stuff she'd lose her business." With the two men acting as middlemen, Perry bought large amounts of ketamine from Sangha, including 25 vials for $6,000 in cash four days before his death. That purchase included the doses that killed Perry, prosecutors said. On the day of Perry's death, Sangha told Fleming they should delete all the messages they had sent each other, according to her indictment. Her home in North Hollywood, California, was raided in March 2024 by Drug Enforcement Administration agents who found large amounts of methamphetamines and ketamine, according to an affidavit from an agent. She has been held in federal custody for about a year. None of the defendants has yet been sentenced. Sangha also agreed in her plea deal not to contest the seizure of her property that went with the investigation, including more than $5,000 in cash. Perrystruggled with addictionfor years, dating back to his time on "Friends," when he became one of the biggest stars of his generation as Chandler Bing. Hestarred alongsideJennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer for 10 seasons from 1994 to 2004 onNBC's megahit series.

Julian Sayin named Ohio State's starting quarterback for season opener against TexasNew Foto - Julian Sayin named Ohio State's starting quarterback for season opener against Texas

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Julian Sayin will be Ohio State's starting quarterback when the No. 3 Buckeyes open the season against top-ranked Texas on Aug. 30, coach Ryan Day announced Monday. Day, who is in his seventh year leading the Buckeyes, said Sayin was more consistent in thecompetition with Lincoln Kienholzbut there was some separation over the past week. "It was a close competition. I think both guys we all feel confident can win a game for us. I feel like our guys are confident with both quarterbacks, I feel like we are going to need both quarterbacks," Day said. "Lincoln did a lot of great things, but we're going to name Julian the starter, give him the majority of the reps with the ones and go prepare to beat Texas." Sayin is listed as a sophomore but has four years of eligibility remaining. He originally committed to Alabama as the top-rated quarterback in the Class of 2024 and was taking classes when Nick Saban retired. Sayin then entered the transfer portal last spring and came to Ohio State. He played in four games last season, including the College Football Playoff first-round game against Tennessee, and he was 5 for 12 for 84 yards and one touchdown while taking 27 snaps. "I think earning trust is just all about consistency, who are you day in and day out, and are you making the routine plays routinely. Are you someone who the offense can count on and who your teammates can count on consistently?" Sayin said on Aug. 5 about his approach. Offensive coordinator Brian Hartline also pointed out Sayin's consistency, along with limited turnovers and emergence as a leader, in his body of work. "The command and earning the respect of your peers. Ultimately, the locker room always knows," Hartline said. Texas coach Steve Sarkisian tried to recruit Sayin and said after Monday's announcement that he had a ton of respect for him. "We recruited him hard here. He was a very gifted passer, really good player. Came to camp with us, I think, two years in a row. So we got a lot of familiarity with him," Sarkisian said. "Very good player, elite passer, very good arm talent, very quick release, really accurate guy. Obviously, he's got great weapons around him, so he's the type of guy that can utilize those weapons in a good system. So, it poses a heck of a challenge." Sayin won't be the most-hyped quarterback in the opener. That goes to Texas' Arch Manning, who is considered an early Heisman Trophy contender. ___ Get poll alerts and updates on the AP Top 25 throughout the season. Sign up here. Joe Flacco named as Browns' starting quarterback, winning competitive race for QB1New Foto - Joe Flacco named as Browns' starting quarterback, winning competitive race for QB1

Joe Flacco is a starting quarterback again. The Cleveland Browns announced Monday that Flacco, a 40-year-old veteran, will be the team's QB1. To earn the starting role, Flaccohad to beat out four other competitors: Kenny Pickett, Dillon Gabriel, Shedeur Sanders and therecently acquiredTyler Huntley. Joe Cool leading the way 🫔We've named Joe Flacco our starting quarterback. — Cleveland Browns (@Browns)August 18, 2025 Flacco has continually held the edge in the race to be named the starter. He has been consistentlyatop the unofficial depth chartsthroughout the preseason, followed by Pickett at QB2 and then Gabriel, Sanders, Huntley and the injured Deshaun Watson all listed at QB3. Pickett, who appeared poised to compete with Flacco for the starting job, suffered a hamstring injuryin camp, while Sanders suffered an oblique injury that held him out of Week 2 of the preseason. [Join or create a Yahoo Fantasy Football league for the 2025 NFL season] Of the Browns' QB room, Flacco and Pickett are the only two who have yet to play in the preseason. Sandersmade his NFL debut with a solid showingin the first game against the Carolina Panthers, while Gabrielstarted in Saturday's winover the Philadelphia Eagles. Huntley played in both games as a backup. On Sunday, Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski said that the team would be naming its starterahead of the final preseason gamethis weekend, in order to treat the game as a dress rehearsal for the regular season. As a result, Flacco will make his preseason debut with Cleveland as the Browns take on the Los Angeles Rams on Saturday. Flacco was the Baltimore Ravens' starting quarterback for 11 seasons, notably winning a Super Bowl with the team in the 2012 season. He has bounced between four different teams for the past few seasons. Flacco's last stint with Cleveland, in 2023, ended with the veteran winning Comeback Player of the Year. Flacco signed with the Browns late in that season to replace an injured Watson and ended up leading the team to the playoffs. Having previously worked with the Browns, Flacco showed more promise as a Week 1 starter, with his experience and familiarity with the system serving as a leg up over the younger Pickett. Cleveland has had one of the most competitive quarterback races in the NFL this year, with the Browns holding a large number of very different QB options. At this point in the preseason, the Browns have six quarterbacks under contract: Flacco, Pickett, Gabriel, Sanders, Huntley and Watson, who is out againafter tearing his Achilles twice last year. The seemingly always-injured Watson (who Browns owner Jimmy Haslamrecently admitted was a mistake to trade for) was not expected to be a part of the quarterback race. That left the remaining five. Early in training camp, Flacco and Pickett emerged as clear frontrunners for the job, taking the most first-team snapsand overall showing the most promise as starters. Pickett, a fourth-year veteransuffered a hamstring injurybefore returning to training camp a week later. With Pickett out, Flacco, the most experienced of the group, took control of the QB1 spot prior to the first preseason game. In the Browns' first unofficial depth chart prior to the first preseason game, Flacco was listed as QB1, with Pickett as QB2 after returning from injury. Rookies Gabriel and Sanders were listed as third- and fourth-string, respectively. The two rookies have been largely working with backups throughout the start of training camp, with Sanderseven working with members of the equipment team. Gabriel has also been limited in practice due to his own hamstring injury, though he still held in front of Sanders in the initial review. And Huntley, a career backup who spent some time with the Browns last season, largely seems to be a last-second addition in case either Gabriel or Pickett's injuries extend longer than expected. It's unclear whether he will make it to the 53-man roster, especially considering the number of quarterbacks that Cleveland is holding.

"Late night television, as we have known it since around 1950, is going to disappear," the former late night talk show host said Saturday during hisinduction speechat the Television Academy Hall of Fame ceremony. Despite his dire prediction, O'Brien added a message of hope. "But those voices are not going anywhere. People like Stephen Colbert are too talented ― and too essential ― to go away. It's not going to happen," he said. "He's not going anywhere," O'Brien added. "Stephen is going to evolve and shine brighter than ever in a new format that he controls completely." CBS said it wascanceling"The Late Show"in a shocking announcementlast month. The show began in 1993 with host David Letterman, who stayed on until 2015, at which point Colbert took it over. Colbert's stint as host will officially come to an end in May 2026. CBS has said the decision was made "purely for financial reasons amid the difficult late-night landscape." To fellow TV host Andy Cohen, the idea of canceling the show ― without giving Colbert and his team a chance to make changes to improve its financial situation ―spells the end for CBS.
