Meet the next anchor of "Inside Edition." The long-running newsmagazine show has hired ABC News senior national correspondent Eva Pilgrim to succeedDeborah Norvilleas anchor. Pilgrim previously served as coanchor of ABC's "GMA3: What You Need to Know." She was tapped for that role in 2023 following thedeparture of Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes, who were embroiled in an affair scandal. "Anchoring 'Inside Edition' is truly a dream job," Pilgrim said in a statement. "I have been an avid viewer and fan of the show for many years. I'm pinching myself that I get to work with this amazing team. It's truly an honor to join a show with such a long, rich history." Executive producer Charles Lachman also said, "We feel like we won the jackpot to have Eva join our team," adding that she "has solid news chops" and "a warm relatability that resonates with audiences." Pilgrim's hiring comes more than a month after Norville exited "Inside Edition" after a 30-year run. She said in April that producers wanted her to stay but that there were "things I'd like to do, and places I want to do them, that continuing here don't permit." Norville was the third anchor of "Inside Edition" following previous stints by David Frost andBill O'Reilly. She officially signed off in her final episode on May 21.
