Doane Gregory/20th Century Fox Prior to helming hisNight at the Museumtrilogy, Levy was known for directing successful comedies includingBig Fat Liar,Cheaper By the Dozen, andThe Pink Panther. The success of the Stiller-fronted comedies (which grossed a collective $1.3 billion) propelled his career forward, but reflecting on the project in 2022, Levy said directingNight at the Museumwas a "daunting opportunity" from the very start. "It was asking me to build a world with visual effects and spectacle that was beyond anything I'd done," he toldSyFy. "But I finally got my head out of my ass for long enough to say, 'Yes.' It led to huge creative growth, it led to a chance to work with 30-some odd actors over the course of that franchise, who are both legendary and now many of whom are dear friends. But the success of those movies really changed my life because it penetrated the global culture in a way that I've never experienced before." Want more movie news?
