School is back in session. "English Teacher" Season 2 will premiere on Thursday, Sept. 25, at 9 p.m. on FX with three back-to-back new episodes. On Sept. 26, all 10 episodes of Season 2 will be available to stream on Hulu and watch on video on demand. Returning for Season 2 are Stephanie Koenig as Evan's best friend Gwen, Sean Patton as gym teacher Markie, Carmen Christopher as guidance counselor Rick and Enrico Colantoni as the frantic principal Grant Moretti. In Season 2, "Evan still refuses to stay quiet when controversy arises at Morrison-Hensley High. This season, the gang finds themselves in the crosshairs of issues including climate change, Covid, military recruitment and student phone usage. Evan also struggles to keep his relationship with Malcolm (Jordan Firstman) separate from his work life. Even though Malcolm no longer works at Morrison-Hensley, Evan's excessive righteousness at school takes an increasing toll on his romantic life." "English Teacher" debuted on FX in September 2024 to positive reviews and some awards attention. In February 2025, the series wasrenewed for Season 2after an article had beenpublished by New York Magazinein December 2024 in which Alvarez's former friend and co-star Jon Ebeling accused Alvarez of sexual assault. Ebeling also alleged that "English Teacher" writer and star Koenig played a role in enabling Alvarez's harmful dynamic with Ebeling when the three actors starred together in the 2016 webseries "The Gay and Wondrous Life of Caleb Gallo." When the report was first published, a spokesperson for FX said, "We reviewed the allegations presented to us by another media outlet prior to the show's launch. Mr. Ebeling never reached out to us with any concerns. We will have no further comment at this time." The network has yet to comment on the allegations. Alvarez executive produces "English Teacher" alongside Paul Simms, Jonathan Krisel, Dave King, Kathryn Dean, Jake Bender and Zach Dunn. FX Productions is the studio.
