The 2026 WNBA season is already over for Sophie Cunningham and the Indiana Fever following the team's first-round defeat against the Las Vegas Aces.
Despite that, Cunningham continues to make headlines, but not because of her on-court prowess. Instead, many are still chirping about Cunningham's stance on wanting the W to remain for only biologically female athletes.
This stance of Cunningham has received mixed opinions from fans and experts alike in the past few weeks or so.
The latest person to voice her anger over Cunningham's stance is former WNBA guard and Caitlin Clark's ex-teammate Sydney Colson.
"If you never speak up about a d___ thing when you know it's impacting the people that you claim to love, care about, you know, 'we're fighting together as a team,' sisters, blah, blah, blah, and you don't speak up when things affect them. They don't respect you," Colson began.
"For the white players in the league, when you don't say s___ and, even worse, when you say things that are harmful, talking about the trans s___, nobody respects you. Shut the f___ up. Shut the f___ up.
"Nobody wants to hear your opinion. Freedom of speech, so you can say it, but just know, people are just trying to get by when they're dealing with you," Colson added.
She concluded, "You ought to be ashamed, y'all ought to be ashamed."
Colson refused to mince her words about Cunningham's credibility, as she felt that the Fever star's opinion held no real weight.
Now, that's a massive accusation and it wouldn't be a surprise if Cunningham responds to the ex-Fever star soon, possibly on the next episode of her 'No Hesitation' podcast? Only time will tell.
