Rachael Blackmore has made a name for herself as one of the outstanding jockeys of her generation after becoming the first female jockey to win the Grand National in its 186-year history in 2021. She cemented her name in horse racing history by repeating the feat at the Cheltenham Gold Cup back in 2022. Meanwhile, her boyfriend, Brian Hayes, will be looking to add to the eight wins he has achieved in the past year.

One of the biggest events on the UK racing calendar was in full flow on Friday as the Grand National revellers popped bottles of champagne and danced through the day with the sun beaming down. Ladies put on their finest attire, and also pushed the boat out with their extravagant fascinators, as thousands headed to the Racecourse to soak up all that 2025 Ladies Day had to offer.

Tony Mowbray reveals his children were 'scared he wasn't going to live' during bowel cancer battle

West Brom manager Tony Mowbray has revealed his children thought he was going to die when he was battling bowel cancer. Mowbray suddenly stepped down as manager of Birmingham in February last year after undergoing surgery. He had 15cm of his bowel removed during his treatment. He took a temporary leave of absence after eight games in charge, before officially resigning from the role in May. The 61-year-old, who has managed a host of English clubs, is now on the road to recovery following surgery and has opened up publicly about his struggles of the last 18 months.
