Grand National winning jockey denied any prize money due to little known rule

Patrick Mullins hasn't received any prize money despite winning the Grand National at the weekend. Mullins enjoyed the greatest moment of his career as a jockey when he won the iconic race at Aintree on Saturday while on board Nick Rockett after a thrilling contest. Mullins had to edge out the challenge of I Am Maximus, last year's winner, to triumph, with both horses trained by Patrick's father Willie Mullins.

The father of a man who was the victim of a coward-punch attack in 2016 has hit out at the AFL and Richmond's stance on permitting Noah Balta to play this weekend against Fremantle. Matt Cronin's son, Patrick, tragically died after the 19-year-old was punched in the head during a brawl in a pub nine years ago. Andrew William Lee was subsequently jailed for manslaughter. His comments come as pressure is mounting on Richmond and the AFL to extend the suspension of footballer, Balta.

UEFA has unveiled the cost of tickets for this season's Champions League final, as well as prices for the Europa League and Europa Conference League. Ticket sales for all three men's finals have already started via UEFA's official website and will run until 10am UK time on April 11. In an announcement on Monday, European football's governing body confirmed that ticket prices for the majority of fans attending the Champions League final in Munich next month will remain the same as last campaign.
