Toronto may beDrake's home turf, but even crowds in the 6 can't resist that catchyKendrick verse. During a concert in the Canadian province Thursday, June 12, fans chanted along asKendrick Lamarperformed his viralDrake diss track "Not Like Us." Part of what feels like a never ending victory lap,Lamar's performance punctuated just how universal the song has become. In Toronto, where maple syrup is a more common export than rap, Drake is an artistic icon. But, as concertgoers parroted back Lamar's cruelest verses, calling Drake a "colonizer" and "pedophile," even his home court advantage seemed to fade. The episode is another nail in the coffin of a slow-motion rap battle, the likes of which the hip-hop world has not seen in decades. The roots of Lamar and Drake's feud go back more than a decade to 2013, though things quickly intensified in spring 2024 as the two traded bars and barbs with shocking allegations. Over the course of nine songs, both rappers hurled insults at one another in rapid succession, with nothing off limits – looping in city pride, claims of physical and sexual abuse, and parental absenteeism. Then, "Not Like Us" blew the beef wide open, bringing it into the mainstream as Lamar's lyrically rich takedown became a streaming hit. Kendrick Lamar,Drake beef explained after the Super Bowl halftime show A sold out Los Angeles Juneteenth concert and much-discussedSuper Bowl performancelater, "Not Like Us" has become not just a Drake diss track but a symbol for peak hater status, us vs. them fervor and racial reckoning. Fever say Caitlin Clark will be ready to play in showdown with Liberty on SaturdayNew Foto - Fever say Caitlin Clark will be ready to play in showdown with Liberty on Saturday

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Caitlin Clark ended practice Friday by making a halfcourt shot and winning a little bit of lunch money in the process. And with that, the Indiana Fever star is ready to play again. Clark — barring any unforeseen setbacks — is expected to be in the lineup when the Fever play host to the reigning WNBA champion New York Liberty on Saturday afternoon. She missed the last five Indiana games with a quadriceps injury. "As long as we don't have any regressions, she's going to be ready to roll," Fever coach Stephanie White said. Clark returned to practice this week, and her comeback game just happens to be a nationally televised one against the Liberty — the defending champs and, at 9-0, the last unbeaten team left in the league this season. New York is winning its games by an average of 19 points. "I'm really excited," Clark said. "I think it's definitely been a process. I think the hardest part is when you like begin to feel really good and then it's just a process of working yourself back into actually getting up and down and getting out there with my teammates." The halfcourt shot at the end of practice was the kicker of a friendly competition, and Clark (who says she rarely wins the halfcourt contests) did wave a few dollars that she won around afterward — in case anyone needed a reminder of her shooting range. The Fever (4-5) went 2-3 in Clark's absence. She was averaging 19 points, 9.3 assists, six rebounds and 1.3 steals per game when she got hurt. There's still a long way to go this season, but no player in WNBA history has ever finished a season averaging that many points, assists, rebounds and steals per game. Clark freely acknowledges that she's not a patient person, but she understood the process and why it was important to not skip any steps in her recovery. Among the treatments: "anything under the sun," she said, including everything from massage to weights to hyperbaric therapy. "It was certainly a learning opportunity, and I think it's going to benefit me a lot throughout my career, just falling back and understanding certain moments like this," Clark said. "But I'm super, super excited. I'm antsy to get out there and probably shake off a little bit of rust and then play." Clark's return is the latest bit of big basketball news in Indianapolis, along with the Indiana Pacers going into Friday'sGame 4 of the NBA Finalsleading the Oklahoma City Thunder 2-1.Clark and many other Fever playerswere atGame 3on Wednesday night at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, the same court where they'll be taking on the Liberty on Saturday. Even though Clark and the Fever have an early game Saturday, some — Clark included — plan on at least seeing some of Game 4 on Friday night. "It's incredible. It's incredible," White said when asked about the energy around basketball in Indianapolis right now. "As someone who grew up in the state of Indiana andas the saying goes, 'This is Indiana.'And so, the energy's incredible. It's such a fun time to be in the city." The Fever are also expected to have guard Sophie Cunningham (ankle) back for the game against the Liberty on Saturday. Cunningham has averaged 6.5 points in four games so far this season. "It's really reintegrating two of our top six players, right? Reintegrating them back into the system," White said. "Some of the things that we run will look different than without Caitlin on the floor, certainly. Sophie's versatility and being able to play in multiple positions ... it is like starting Day 1 again." ___ AP WNBA:https://apnews.com/hub/wnba-basketball

The ace moved him to +1, well insidethe Friday cut lineand within five strokes of J.J. Spaun's clubhouse lead. This marks the 54th hole-in-one in U.S. Open history, but only the second at an Open played at Oakmont. The only previous ace at the course, which is hosting its 10th U.S. Open, came in 1983, when Scott Simpson aced the 16th hole. Bryce Dallas Howard never tried alcohol. Here's how she played drunk in 'Deep Cover'New Foto - Bryce Dallas Howard never tried alcohol. Here's how she played drunk in 'Deep Cover'

NEW YORK −Bryce Dallas Howardnever sipped alcohol in her life. But that didn't stop her from acting like an alcoholic who needs an intervention in her new crime comedy"Deep Cover"(streaming now on Amazon Prime Video). "I put ice cubes in my mouth because it kind of numbs your mouth,"Howard, 44, reveals to USA TODAY of her trick to play drunk. "I also really enunciate a lot, so (the ice) helps to get the slurring going." Howard's other trick? She spins in circles to get dizzy. "That made me sick," Howard's co-star,Nick Mohammed, 44, interjects. "I'd rather get drunk." Join our Watch Party!Sign up to receive USA TODAY's movie and TV recommendations right in your inbox In "Deep Cover," Howard plays Kat, an improv-comedy teacher who is recruited along with two of her students (Mohammed andOrlando Bloom) to infiltrate a criminal gang in London. The actors note that there wasn't much improv in the movie, with the exception of the aforementioned intervention scene. After seeing her out on the town gallivanting with a few shady characters, Kat's friends intervene, unaware that the teacher is actually on a secret mission at the direction of law enforcement. There was one part of Howard's character that hit closer to home: teaching. The filmmakerholds a degree from New York Universityand taught classes there about the entertainment industry. Howard says she recently moved back to the New York area and is in talks with the university about returning to the classroom. "I could relate to the excitement around seeing other people (learn) and seeing people kind of come alive," Howard says. "But I also had even more empathy for my character because the thing that I teach in, I also do for my living. Whereas with Kat, she was teaching something that she wanted to be doing for her living, but she wasn't really getting a shot at it." Howard wasn't the only actor to partake in debauchery: Mohammed's character Hugh has to snort cocaine during the trio's initial meeting with the gangster Fly (Paddy Considine) to prove that the trio aren't posers. As for any real-life parallels, Mohammed says he has never taken drugs. Something bizarre but unrelated to the movie did happen to him four months ago, though: He almost lost a finger. The actor, best known as Nate Shelley from"Ted Lasso,"says he sliced it while trying to remove an avocado pit. Fans of "Ted Lasso" may recall that in Season 3,Mohammed played violinduring a scene. The actor learned the instrument when he was a child and performed in his college orchestra. He doesn't break out the violin for "Deep Cover" and says his injury has prevented him from playing. Mohammed explained to his mother, who was a doctor, that he doesn't really have any feeling in the finger. "My mom said, 'That might come back in a year,' " Mohammed recalls of the conversation. "I was like, 'And if it doesn't?' She's like, 'If it doesn't come back in a year, it's not coming back.'" At least in this situation, it doesn't seem as if ice is going to help. He had been the team's principal owner and CEO since 1997, following the death of his father, Robert Irsay. At the time, he was the NFL's youngest owner at 37. Wimbledon increases prize money after players called for improvements in revenue distributionNew Foto - Wimbledon increases prize money after players called for improvements in revenue distribution

Wimbledon is raising its prize money by 7% for this year's championship, bumping the total up to 53.5 million pounds ($72.59 million). On Thursday, the All England Lawn Tennis Club announced a significant increase, which has nearly doubled the $40.60 million prize money from 2015. Singles champions will see an 11.1% increase from last year, when Carlos Alcaraz and Barbora Krejcikova won the men's and women's singles titles. This year's victors of the individual tournaments will receive the highest prize across all Grand Slam competitions, a staggering 3 million pounds ($4.07 million). Players who are eliminated in the first round of singles competition will see a 10% increase from last year, while doubles prize money goes up 4.4%, mixed doubles 4.3% and wheelchair and quad wheelchair 5.6%. Wimbledon made the adjustments after athletes campaigned for improvements in the Grand Slam prize money to ensure a more impartial revenue distribution. AELTC chairDeborah Jevans said, per ESPN, that the club "Listened to the players. We have engaged with the players. "But the focus on just the prize money at the four events, the Grand Slams, does not get to the heart of what the challenge is with tennis," Jevans added. "The challenge with tennis is the fact that the players don't have an offseason, which they want; they have increasing injuries that they're speaking about." Jevans also noted how Wimbledon is willing to work with the tours to continue working toward better compensation for the athletes. The Wimbledon Championships will start on June 30 and run through July 13. Apart from paying the players more, AELTC is taking more steps to improve the Wimbledon experience this year. First, the tournament is moving when finals games are played. The club said the doubles finals on July 12 and 13 would start at 1 p.m. local time (8 a.m. ET), while the singles finals begin at 4 p.m. local time. Additionally, this year's tournament will be the first to feature theelectronic line-calling systemover line judges. According to AELTC CEO Sally Bolton, "the time is right to move on" from the old system and join other tournaments using modern technology. "They're extra eyes and ears, the assistant to the chair umpire. We've got about 80 of those across the Championships," Bolton said, per ESPN. "They'll also provide one of the parts of our resilience in the event that the electronic line calling system goes down at any point in time."

Clay Aiken Talks Lookalike Son Parker, 16, in Rare Comments About Parenting (Exclusive)originally appeared onParade. American IdolalumClay Aikentook a step back from the spotlight for a decade to focus on raising his son,Parker, 16. Now, ahead of Father's Day, the Season 2 runner-up dropped a reimagined rendition of his debut single "Measure of a Man"—and he shared rare comments on parenting his teenage son. On Friday, June 13, "Measure of a Man (Father's Version)" premieres. Aiken, 46, opened up about the heartwarming twist on his 2003 track during an exclusive interview withParade. 🎬SIGN UP for Parade's Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox🎬 For the father's iteration of the ballad, Aiken explored how life changed after becoming a parent, as well as how love, patience and presence—as opposed to perfection—became the new measures of strength. Here is the first verse of the revised lyrics through the lens of fatherhood: If one day you discover him broken down he's lost everything / No cape, no superpowers to make him who he's not / His family at his side is all that he has got / He wouldn't have to move Heaven and Earth to prove his love has worth. Although the chorus is mostly the same, Aiken tweaked the message slightly there, too: 'Cause he'd walk on water and he'd run through fire / And he'd stand beside you when it's down to the wire / He would give his life up to be all he can / Day after day, he shows me how you measure a man. "I found I was able to say certain things or talk about things that I wouldn't be able to say to [Parker] right now, face to face. And if I did, he'd roll his eyes at me," Aiken said of writing the new version of his song. "So it was sort of a cathartic therapeutic experience to reimagine this song in that way." He added, "And 'Measure of Man,' the lyrics to it have always been, I mean, it is romantic—but I think it's ambiguous in its ability in most parts of the lyrics to kind of be about how we measure people in life in general." During his sit-down withParade, Aiken also caught fans up to speed with what he's been up to over the past 10 years, explaining his decision to press pause on his music career. "My son was at elementary school age and I wanted to be able to be in the same spot so that when he was in school, I was in the same place," he shared. In 2022, the "Invisible" singer emerged from his more private life to run in the Democratic primary for District 4 of North Carolina's U.S. House of Representatives. (He lost that May and also in 2014 when heran in North Carolina's 2nd Congressional District's Democratic primary.) Aiken also teamed up withAmerican IdolSeason 2 winnerRuben Studdardfor a 20th-anniversary tour in April and May 2023. (The dynamic duoreunited as "Beets" in Season 11 ofThe Masked Singer, too.) After that experience, Aiken said he "kind of fell back in love with performing," inspiring him to release a holiday albumChristmas Bells Are Ringing,in November 2024. He is now working on more new music, including another album. "One of the reasons I decided to start performing again was my son got to an age where he, well, he didn't need me around anymore," Aiken toldParade. "He doesn'twantme around anymore either. And, you know, he'll be 17 this summer. And I think I kind of have waxed a little sentimental over the, you know, the change that happens as kids grow up." The "This Is the Night" singer continued, "They go from idolizing you to thinking you're an idiot … I don't think he truly thinks I'm an idiot, but he does a good percentage of the time." In August 2024, Aiken appeared onFamily Feudwith his son—the first time he and Parker's mother,Jaymes Foster(she and Aiken are close friends who welcomed their son via IVF) allowed the teen to be in the spotlight since he was born. "His mother and I had been very careful to keep him hidden and in North Carolina and try to let him have as normal a childhood as possible," Aiken shared. Fast-forward to April 2025, andParker made his red carpet debutalongside his famous father at the opening night ofBOOP! The Musicalin New York City. Parker's uncle,David Foster, composed the music for the Broadway production. "Well, he played it cool a little bit, but he loved it," Aiken shared of the teenager's reaction to getting a tiny taste of stardom. Although Parker has "a great ear," Aiken said his son does not have plans to follow in his musical footsteps—nor is the teenager particularly interested in a life of fame. Or taking his father's advice, for that matter. "He is incredibly independent. And on the one hand, you're very proud of that," Aiken said. "But on the other hand, you're like, I still wish that: A, you needed me for some things and B, I wish you'd listen to me for some things too, because you may not need me, but I do know a few things." "Measure of a Man (Father's Version)" is now available for streaming and purchase wherever you listen to music.
