Tom Holland has finally revealed his new Spidey suit for "Spider-Man: Brand New Day." Afterbriefly teasing the suit on Friday, Aug. 1,which was national Spider-Man Day, the full unveiling came on Saturday morning with a longer video. Holland emerges from the shadows in his new costume, which more closely resembles the comic-book costume than his previous duds. Holland asks in the video. The new costume has brighter reds and blues and sports a larger spider insignia than his past suits from "Spider-Man: Homecoming," "Far From Home" and "No Way Home." The upcoming "Spider-Man: Brand New Day," set to release in theaters on July 31, 2026. "Brand New Day" is the fourth Spidey movie from Sony and Disney in the MCU, following the blockbuster "Spider-Man: No Way Home" in 2021. This will be the first time Holland has reappeared in the MCU since joining the screen with Sony's two previous Spider-Men, Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, in "No Way Home." In "No Way Home," Parker Parker's true identity as Spider-Men is revealed to the entire world (thanks to Jake Gyllenhaal's Mysterio spilling the beans at the end of 2019's "Far From Home"). With his privacy erased, he turns to Benedict Cumberbatch's Doctor Strange to cast a spell and make everyone forget that he's Spider-Man. However, the spell has some unintended consequences and pulls in the other web-slingers and their villains from other dimensions. The three team up to defeat the evildoers, but in the end Peter makes the tough decision and allows Doctor Strange to finish his spell and make everyone forget his identity. That means his girlfriend M.J. Watson-Jones (Zendaya), best friend Ned Leeds (Jacob Batalon) and everyone else has forgotten who Peter is. Also, in a tragic accident, Peter's Aunt May (Marisa Tomei) dies. Thus comes "Brand New Day," which pulls inspiration from the Spider-Man comic storyline of the same name. In the comics, Spidey makes a deal with the devil Mephisto to make the world forget his identity and to resurrect Aunt May, but it also dissolves his marriage to MJ and effectively reboots his world. "Shang-Chi" director Destin Daniel Cretton directs "Brand New Day," which will also introduce Sadie Sink and Liza Colón-Zayas to the MCU. Jon Bernthal's vigilante the Punisher and Mark Ruffalo's Bruce Banner, aka the Hulk, will also appear in the movie. I was hoping they were going to," he says of speaking about his intuition. "I don't really think there's a specific answer other than it was a feeling." "When I woke up, my heart dropped, and I felt this pit in my stomach and I realized, 'That wasn't the right decision,'" he explains. "At that point, I gave it the day, made sure that that was the correct feeling and that it didn't go away. And it didn't. And so at that point I thought, 'This is hard, but it's only going to be worse if I try to drag it and take more time.'" The reality star adds that he "was very decisive" and knew he had to act quickly. "I just had to end it," he says. "I never had any intention of hurting her. Unfortunately, in dating shows, there's emotions attached, so it's hard to get out unscathed." Netflix "I think it's going to be a split," he says. "I think there's going to be half people that understand, there's going to be a large swathe of people that are going to attack me for it. Clayton sat Rachel, 29, down and explained that he needed to talk to her so he didn't "drag something out." "My intuition was telling me that this is not going to work between us, and I don't want to hurt you," he said. "That's why I'm having this conversation as soon as possible." He later added: "My intuition kicked in today and I'm like, I can't do this." Rachel broke down in tears as she asked him, "Why would you even put me in this position?" She then ran off, only to be consoled by her fellow female costars. "He literally did it again. This is the third time he's done this to me," she said. "He does not give a s--- about me." The Sharpe brothers make history in Pro Football Hall of FameNew Foto - The Sharpe brothers make history in Pro Football Hall of Fame

Let's roll back the clock to Aug. 6, 2011. That's whenShannon Sharpedelivered one of the most riveting induction speeches in the history of the Pro Football Hall of Fame with a bottom-line message for the ages. "I'm the only football player that's in the Hall of Fame, and the second-best player in my own family," Shannon declared, prompting a standing ovation from the crowd and tears from his presenter and big brother, Sterling. "If fate had dealt you a different hand," he added, speaking to Sterling, "there is no question, no question in my mind we would have become the first brothers to be elected to the Hall of Fame." Shannon, who became the 267th Hall of Famer, propelled by the three Super Bowl rings he won with theDenver BroncosandBaltimore Ravens, went on to urge the Hall of Fame's selection committee to take up the case for his brother. "All I can do is ask in the most humblest way I know, is that the next time you go into that room or start making a list, look at Sterling Sharpe's accomplishments," he said. Well, 14 years later and 31 years since Sterling was forced to retire after seven superb NFL seasons with theGreen Bay Packersdue to a neck injury, it has happened. Shannon and Sterling, who will become the 382nd enshrinee on Saturday, are the first set of brothers elected for busts in Canton. Maybe there will be more. The Kelces, Travis and Jason, will be in the mix someday. The Watts, J.J. and T.J., could have a shot if the younger brother keeps up his pace. And a few months ago, Eli Manning, Peyton's younger brother, was a Hall finalist in his first year of eligibility. Yet 25,000 men have played in the NFL since it was established in 1920 and it hasn't happened for a pair of brothers – until now. What are the odds? In the case of the Sharpe brothers, three years apart, their distinction is underscored by their remarkable journey from rural Georgia, where they were raised by late grandparents, Barney and Mary Porter, challenged by poverty. When I listened to the brothers on Shannon's "Club Shay Shay" podcast this week, reflecting on the conditions they endured growing up in a 1,000-square-foot cinder block home with cement floors and without running water, it added extra layers of appreciation for their achievements. Shannon, whose loquacious persona propelled him to become a media megastar after football, is hardly dropping hyperbole when he calls Sterling's Hall of Fame election the "proudest moment of my life." After all, Sterling – the hero and role model whose every word he hung on – once had the task of taking a young Shannon to the outhouse in the middle of the night. Shannon, who gave his big brother his first Super Bowl ring, certainly did his best in keeping his brother's candidacy alive. I've been a Hall selector for nearly 30 years and in recent years when I'd reach out to Shannon to get his take on one NFL topic after another, he would routinely end the exchange with a reminder about his brother's worthiness for a Hall call. The suggestions never came off as pushy, out of bounds or over the top and were nowhere in the ballpark of some of the campaigning for candidates that come our way as selectors. Instead, Shannon's efforts came off as authentic … even as he preached to the choir about Sterling's case. That it wasn't automatic for Sterling – the first receiver to post 100 receptions in back-to-back seasons, an All-Decade choice for the 1990s with a "Triple Crown" milestone in 1992 – was a function of his injury-shortened career more than anything. It certainly helped Sterling's chances that Terrell Davis, Tony Boselli and Kenny Easley earned Hall status with their own injury-shortened careers, yet his case stood on its own merits. Sterling is part of a relatively small class that includes cornerbackEric Allen, defensive endJared Allen(no relation to Eric) and tight end Antonio Gates, who has his own distinctive "first" with his honor. Gates is the only player chosen for the Hall of Fame who didn't play football in college, when he starred as a basketball player. Shannon, though, has one regret about this long-awaited moment for his brother that underscores the twists and turns of life. On Wednesday,The Athletic reported that ESPN won't be bringing Shannon backto the network for his role on the popular "First Take" show – dumping the former tight end who was suspended since April, when a former romantic partner filed a civil suit that alleged sexual assault and battery, seeking $50 million in damages. The suit was recently settled out of court. Talk about tough timing. Shannon's big brother finally gets his Hall call … while news emerges about his personal setback. "They did what they feel they needed to do and I'm at peace with that," Shannon said on Wednesday night on "The Nightcap" podcast he hosts with former NFL receiver Chad Johnson. "But I just wish thing could have waited until Monday because I hate the fact that I'm overshadowing my brother." Then again, it's a different type of fate. The timing is another element of the moment. Shannon needs not sweat it. Not now. Generations from now, the legacy of the Sharpe brothers reflected with their busts in Canton will reflect their impact as two of the greatest players who ever played pro football. And given the journey that includes Sterling's extended wait, a lot of peace comes with that. KMazur/WireImage Brooke Hogan's estrangement from her father Hulk "had nothing to do with" his third marriage to Sky Daily, Brooke's husband Steven Oleksy tells PEOPLE exclusively The estrangement, which started two years before Hulk's death, was because of "the way he treated her," Olesky says The former NHL player says he kept in contact with Brooke's family during the last two years, but "every conversation" with Hulk "led me further to protect my family" Brooke Hogan's reasons for cutting communication with her fatherHulkin the two years before his death "had nothing to do with his new wife" Sky Daily, says her husbandSteven Oleksy. Oleksy, 39, says Hulk perpetuated the narrative that Brooke cut off communication with him because she disapproved of his new marriage — but "that's not the case at all," the former hockey player tells PEOPLE. "My wife will say it — it had nothing to do with his new wife. It had to do with the way he treated [Brooke]," says Oleksy. The support Brooke had given her father — who was embroiled in several controversies during his career, including using racial slurs towards his daughter's ex-boyfriend in a leakedaudio recording— had "really taken a toll on her," says her husband. "It was a situation where she loved her dad very, very much," Olesky says. When Brooke and Oleksy married in June 2022, Hulk declined to walk her down the aisle, and was not in attendance at the ceremony at all, telling Oleksy he "doesn't do weddings or funerals anymore." George Pimentel/WireImage Then, over a "series of phone calls" between Brooke and Hulk, "there were some things said, and a lot of mistruths," says Olesky, and it was thefinal straw of their relationship. Brooke did not attend her father'sthird wedding to Daily in October 2023. In the two years since, Olesky "remained in contact with members of her family to try to keep that door open and understand if I should protect my wife or try to mend the relationship." Brooke Oleksy/instagram But Oleksy says that "each and every conversation" he had with his father-in-law during those two years "just led me further to protect my family and my wife at all costs." Navigating the Hogans' complicated relationships was "challenging" for Oleksy over the last two years. He says he was grateful to have gotten to "experience the love my wife had for her dad and entire family every day," but that it was taxing. "With that love comes heartache and comes many challenges that she's faced in the public and that she still faces today because of others' actions," he adds. "At the end of the day, knowing how much she loves everybody in her family, I always try to support decisions that she made, and I always tried to support the relationships that she envisioned." Now, as they continue grieving in the public eye, Oleksy and his wife are happy to have each other and grateful for the support of their friends. "We believe family is created, and through these trying times, great people have come into our life or come back into our life, and it's brought us some great relationships and a great support system that we look at as family," he says. And there's plenty for the Oleksys to look forward to with their 7-month-old twins,Oliver Andrew and Molly Gene, whom he calls "absolute bundles of joy." "I'm looking forward to getting back and shifting our focus on our own family, and just taking the lessons that we've learned through these situations and just incorporating them into our own family and making sure that our son and daughter feel the love that we have for them each and every day," he says. MLB commissioner Rob Manfred downplays reported Bryce Harper confrontation: 'We shook hands'New Foto - MLB commissioner Rob Manfred downplays reported Bryce Harper confrontation: 'We shook hands'

MLB commissioner Rob Manfred would like everyone to stop making a big deal about his reported confrontation with Bryce Harper. Speaking with reporters Fridayafterannouncing Wrigley Field will host the 2027 MLB All-Star Game, Manfred downplayed a meeting in which the Philadelphia Phillies starreportedly told him he could "get the f*** out of our clubhouse"in response to a mention of the game's economics. When asked about the exchange, Manfred said the reaction was overblown: "I don't talk about those player meetings — let me say this. I think more has been made out of this than needs to be made out of it. Bryce expressed his views, at the end of the meeting, we shook hands and went our separate ways. Just not all that significant. "It was an individual picking a particular way to express himself and I don't think you need to make more out of it than that. [Join or create a Yahoo Fantasy Football league for the 2025 NFL season] Harper was similarly hesitant to discuss the incident after it was reported, butconfirmed it took place and added, "I've always been very vocal [in labor discussions], just not in a way that people can see." The incident occurred amid mounting tension over upcoming collective bargaining agreement, which expires after the 2026 season. It is expected the league will insist on the introduction of a salary cap, which the MLB Players Association has always treated as a non-starter. If both sides hold their ground, the result would likely be a work stoppage that could affect the 2027 season. Manfred reportedly mentioned the word "lockout" in the meeting with the Phillies, and it's never a good sign when the commissioner is planting that seed more than a year in advance. Asked about a contingency plan for a work stoppage, Manfred again downplayed the possibility: "My contingency plan is to make an agreement with the players and play the '27 season." Few other stakeholders are as optimistic. In March,MLBPA executive director Tony Clark said the union believes a lockout is coming. This week, Phillies star Nick Castellanos used an interesting analogy for Manfred's mention of a lockout, via ESPN: "That's nothing to throw around. That's the same thing as me saying in a marriage, 'I think divorce is a possibility. It's probably going to happen.' You don't just say those things." It's been a contentious decade already for the league and union, which got in protracted disputes in 2020 and the 2021-22 offseason. The latter resulted in a delayed start to the 2022 season (but no lost games) and the current deal set to expire after 2026.

Because there's who you were before you got married, there's who you are when you get married, and then there's who you're meant to become, and this other person is there to help you discover that." When it comes to their long-lasting marriage, the Hollywood star takes it day-by-day and tries to show up the best he possibly can, but remarked that "probably the secret" is "I married the right person, really." By his own admission, Van Der Beek's cancer diagnosis has strengthened his and Kimberly's relationship. "I'm more in love than ever, and more in awe of her than ever, and how she's able to handle everything that I had to drop when I got diagnosed, and everything that she does, and just what it is to be that loved by somebody," Van Der Beek gushed. "It's really been an absolute gift." The dad of six said, "I really feel like that's the best medicine, to be around all that love and just to see their support and to show them. You can talk about resilience. And I try really, really as best I can to teach resilience in my kids. But I think the best thing I could do is show them resilience." "In the beginning, one of the things I kept saying was, 'Man, I know this sounds stupid, but this is harder than I thought it would be,' and having been through this crazy journey, what I'm realizing is just how strong I am," he shared. Van Der Beek's also recognized the importance of asking for help, "no matter how strong you are." He said, "I don't know how anybody does this alone. And I was blessed with this amazing group of friends and family who had all been wanting to show up for me, but me trying to be Superman wouldn't let them. And so I was robbing them of a chance to show me how much they cared. That's really been a game changer, is just 'Oh I can be the guy who also asks for help when he needs it.'" To help raise awareness about colorectal cancer screenings, Van Der Beek has teamed up withGuardant Health. "One of the things I really want to get across to people is that you don't need symptoms to start getting screened. Put it on your radar, talk to your doctor," he advised. "At the time that I got diagnosed, I was in amazing cardiovascular shape. I was doing sauna, cold plunge, working out, all the things and I had full-blown stage three cancer and didn't know it." While colorectal cancer is the "second deadliest cancer," Van Der Beek pointed out that it is "also the most treatable when you catch it early." TheVarsity Bluesstar stressed, "That's why it's so crucial, and that's why I'm so happy to team up withShield by Guardantto get the word out there. What they offer is a really convenient, pleasant screening option because it's just a simple blood draw that you could do at your next doctor's appointment." Van der Beek himself had a "couple of symptoms" that prompted him to go in for his screening, but "nothing like [a] big flashing red flag." After privately navigating his diagnosis for a period of time, theSidelined: The QB and Meactorpublicly opened up about his healthin November of 2024. "Fortunately, I have an amazing inner circle, and my community, the Greater Austin medical community was amazing, and nobody leaked it for a year. And so I was given the time and the grace to handle it privately for quite some time," he said. Van Der Beek's diagnosis has continued to be a process with many chapters. "I think at first there was shock, and then there was 'All right, how am I going to make this the best thing that ever happened to me?' And then you ride that enthusiasm for a little while, and then reality kicks in and then you get tired and you get scared, and then you really start to look at your own mortality," he shared. "And then eventually, where I came to was recognizing that 'Oh wow. Even with cancer and not able to do the things that I want to do, like be the father I want to be, be the husband I want to be, even if I'm just sick in bed, I'm still worthy of love' and that's a really important thing to know and an important thing to share with everybody because we all are, and I think that's one thing that I had missed in my life in just how busy and how dedicated and how ambitious I was because I had such an oddly transactional relationship with self-love." Van Der Beek noted, "I look at it and say, 'Well, maybe that's the whole reason I'm going through this is to learn that lesson of, you know, the thing of like put your own oxygen mask on before assisting others.' You gotta love yourself before you can help anybody else." "Naked Gun" Director Limited Reboot to Only 1 O.J. Simpson Joke to Be 'Respectful': 'The Elephant in the Room'

Paramount Pictures (2) Akiva Schaffer is directing the latest iteration of the popular police movie,The Naked Gun The comedy creator was tasked with following the franchise's storied legacy, while still acknowledging the fresh cast To do so, Schaffer said the new film needed to acknowledge O.J. Simpson's previous role in the original films The Naked Gunis making a comedic reference to all of its previous stars, including controversial athleteO.J. Simpson DirectorAkiva Schafferconfessed toThe Hollywood Reporterthat when people learned he was taking on the newest iteration of the spoof franchise, he was immediately asked about what he would do about Simpson'sNaked Guncharacter, Detective Nordberg. The late athlete starred in the 1988 original, plus the sequels in 1991 and 1994. "When I first told friends, 'Hey, I'm actually about to write aNaked Gun,' they'd go, 'What are you going to do about O.J?' So, right away, I was like, 'Oh, right. That's the elephant in the room that has to be addressed,' " he recalled for the outlet. But he confessed they only needed one joke to address audience questions. Paramount Pictures Schaffer, 47, admitted that after writing the initial joke acknowledging Simpson's character, he and the writers "never wrote another O.J. joke." The sole Simpson joke appears in the film's trailer, as starsLiam NeesonFrank Drebin Jr. andPaul Walter Hauserpay tribute to framed photos of their late parents in a police Hall of Legends. It then transitions to a framed portrait of Nordberg (Simpson), before cutting to his son Nordberg Jr. (Moses Jones) breaking the fourth wall and shaking his head in appallment. "We just went, 'Yep, that takes care of that,' " Schaffer said. "I didn't know that the joke would kill as hard as it did at our first test screening. If I had known that, then maybe I would've written other jokes," he continued. "But you want to be respectful of everything that revolves around him, so it's not something I really took glee in. We just had to acknowledge it in a way we thought was not dancing on anybody's misfortunes," he said, seemingly referencingSimpson's infamous 1995 murder trialfor the homicides of his ex-wife,Nicole Brown Simpsonand her friend,Ron Goldman. And I'd be like, 'Don't worry. The movie is going to be 85 minutes. A fourth of the script is getting cut. Anything that doesn't work is going to be cut,' " he explained. "So that's the way I made everyone relax all the time." (The film was intended to be 85 minutes long to mirror the original two films' runtimes, but is ultimately 83 minutes.) The movie, produced bySeth MacFarlane, is based on the Jim Abrahams and David Zucker and Jerry Zucker franchiseThe Naked Gun,which originally starred Leslie Nielsen as self-serious detective Frank Drebin, who managed to rise through the ranks of the police squad. In the new film, Neeson stars as Lt. Frank Drebin Jr., son of Nielsen's character, as he follows in his father's footsteps.
