"I have this sort of dream — I just think everybody should have chapters in their lives — I have a dream — I don't know how realistic it is — but when theJenna & Friendschapter comes to a close…" Bush Hager began on the Wednesday, Aug. 6 episode of the show. Nathan Congleton/NBC via Getty "Well, why would that ever happen?" guest co-hostMatt Rogerscut in. "Well.. linear television, baby!" Bush Hager said, laughing and shrugging. "Who knows? But when I'm ready to go to my next chapter, I think it would be so nice to move back to Texas and let my kids — I went to a big public high school — have a different life." Jenna Bush Hager/Instagram The conversation came when Bush Hager and Rogers were discussing whether they'd ever consider moving back to their hometown. The daughter of formerPresident George W. BushandFirst Lady Laura Bushgrew up in Austin, Texas, and said she'd happily return to the city to raise her three kids with husband Henry Hager. "Isn't Austin great? I love Austin," Bush Hager, who is a mom to daughters Mila, 12, Poppy, 9, and son Hal, 6, gushed. The morning show host has already tried to instill some of her Texas childhood experiences in her three kids. Earlier this summer, while discussing the tragic flooding in Kerrville, Texas, Bush Hager revealed thatshe sends her kids to Texas campsevery summer. She said that after her husband Henry asked why they sent their kids all the way to Texas, she replied, "Because of the love that's there," adding, "Texas camps are institutions." Ahead of their series finale against theBaltimore Oriolesat Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia,Philliesmanager Rob Thomson told the media that due to shoulder stiffness, Wheeler's next start will now be Sunday vs. theTexas Rangers. He was originally scheduled to pitch Game 1 of the three-game weekend series at Globe Life Field in Arlington on Friday. The Phillies, who enter the day 2.5 games up on the New York Mets in the National League East standings, are looking to close out their three-game series vs. the Orioles with a sweep on Wednesday. Here's more on the news of Wheeler being pushed back in the rotation: On Wednesday, the Phillies announced that they are pushing back their All-Star right-hander two days in the rotation due to some unusual soreness in his shoulder. Meeting with reporters pregame inside his office at Citizens Bank Park, Phillies manager Rob Thomson said Wheeler came out of his late start vs. theDetroit Tigerswith more soreness than he usually does after a start. The Phillies then conducted imaging on Wheeler's shoulder, and the results came back "clean," according to Thomson. "Wheeler came out of his last start ... more sore than he normally is. So we got an image done and it is clean," Thomson said. "So we are just going to give him a couple of extra days." Asked whether he has any concern about his ace, who is in contention once again for the National League Cy Young award, Thomson said no. NFL commissioner Roger Goodell told ESPN on Wednesday that the employee who was injured in theJuly 28 shootingat the league's office in New York City is "doing incredibly well" and that the organization is "working through it" as a group. Goodell appeared on ESPN to promote theNFL's new deal with the network, but he began by giving an update on the employee. "It's been a tough week for not just the NFL, but I think everybody at our Park Avenue offices," Goodell said. "Our other tenants each lost employees. It's a sad thing for us to have to bear. But I think our group is pulling together, as they normally do. We're a resilient group. Collectively, I think we're pulling together. The good news is our colleague is doing incredibly well, is going to be OK and we're obviously comforted by that. It's hard to understand the unexplainable and the senselessness of it. But the pain is real for everybody and we're all working through it." Dianna Russini ofThe Athletic reportedthat finance department employee Craig Clementi was struck in the back by a bullet while calling other NFL employees towarn them about the shooting. Clementi reportedly continued to make calls while being transported to the hospital. Shane Tamura, the suspected 27-year-old gunman, opened fire inside the high-rise at 345 Park Ave. building, killing four, including off-duty NYPD officerDidarul Islam, and leaving another in critical condition. According to the NYPD,Tamura walked into the lobbyof the building and immediately started the shooting spree. From the lobby, Tamura took an elevator to the 33rd floor, where he killed another person before taking his own life with a gunshot to the chest. Police told ABC that Tamura left a note suggesting the NFL was his target.New York City Mayor Eric Adams later told reportersthat the NFL was the target of Tamura's rampage and that he appeared to have mistakenly taken the wrong elevator to the 33rd floor, which houses offices of the building's owner Rudin Management Company. Tamura reportedly left a three-page note and wrote that he targeted the NFL because he believed he suffered from chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), a degenerative brain disease associated with repeated head trauma that's commonly associated with football and other collision sports. Tamura's note accused the NFL of concealing the dangers to players' brains from playing football in order to maximize profits, according to ABC. The note also included a request from Tamura to study his brain for CTE, which can be detected only via postmortem inspection.

Missed the biggest moments from theLas Culturistas Culture awards? I don't think so, honey! The ceremony, essentially one long bit hosted by"Saturday Night Live" star Bowen Yangand his podcast cohost Matt Rogers, aired on Bravo Tuesday, Aug. 5. With over 100 categories, it is the ultimate entertainment industry spoof, swapping competitions like "best supporting actress" for "excellence in lesbianism" (which was not won by an actual person but instead by "probably your grandma even though she was married to your grandpa for 50 years.") Once a smaller offshoot of Rogers andYang's popular "Las Culturistas"podcast, the awards show, televised for the first time this year, appeared more like a bona fide Hollywood event than an inside-turned-outside joke. Filmed in July, the awards brought major stars likeAllison Janey,Jeff GoldblumandBen Plattto the Orpheum Theater in Los Angeles. Here's a look at the biggest (and oddest) awards of the night. Bowen Yang jokes about replacing'Weekend Update' stars Colin Jost, Michael Che on 'SNL' Winner:Quinta Brunson The "Abbott Elementary" star was presented the award by"Survivor" star and recent memoirist Parvati Shallow. Brunson, who is under 5 feet tall, was nominated alongside the likes of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez andSabrina Carpenter. "I want to say: To every bathroom mirror that told me I couldn't see, I can see me now!" she said in her acceptance speech. Winner:Andy Samberg A jocular spin on hypermasculinity, the award, presented by hunks-of-the-momentDylan EfronandJack Quaidwent to "SNL" alum Samberg. In an ironically fratty fit and tone, the comedian accepted the honor by saying: "It's not that complicated, bro. Just do the work like I do: Rise and grind. When your wife hands you a thank you card she wrote, sign it. And broskis, you gotta wash your hands at least once a week." Winner:Gabby Windey The "Bachelor" alum took home the sincerely named but sarcastically doled out Best New Artist award, winning no doubt for her turn as a fan favorite on the reality show "Traitors." Like Yang and Rogers, she hosts a popular podcast, "Long Winded." "This is not the first time a gay man has helped me win something," Windey, who won "Traitors" alongside Efron, joked in her speech. "Big shoutout to Dylan Efron." (Efron is in a long-term relationship with his high school girlfriend.) US Open prize money pool increases to record $90M, largest in tennis historyNew Foto - US Open prize money pool increases to record $90M, largest in tennis history

The U.S. Open will once again offer the largest total prize pool in tennis history when it begins in New York later this month. The USTA announced Wednesday it will distribute $90 million to players, a 20 percent increase from the $75 million it offered last season. It also puts the U.S. Open far ahead of the other three Grand Slams, as Wimbledon distributed roughly $71 million, the French Open $65.5 million and the Australian Open approximately $63 million this year. This year's men's and women's singles champions will each make $5 million, up from the $3.6 million that Jannik Sinner and Aryna Sabalenka took home last year. According to the USTA, the increase in prize money includes "double-digit percentage increases from 2024 in all rounds of all events for all players." Notably, that includes thenew-look mixed doubles eventthat will take place at Billie Jean King National Tennis Center the week before the singles main draw. In an attempt to incentivize top singles players to play mixed doubles, the USTA is offering a $1 million prize to the winning team and $400,000 to the runners-up in a shortened 16-team format. Themixed doubles entry listincludes eight of the top-10 men's players and six of the top-10 women, with two more teams still to be awarded wildcard entry. The prize money increase comes at a time when some players have questioned whether they are getting a fair share of the revenues created by the pro tennis tours and the Grand Slams. "I'm just going to state a fact," Novak Djokovic said at a news conference earlier this year in Australia. "The pie split between the governing bodies in major sports, all major American sports like NFL, NBA, baseball, NHL, is 50 percent. Maybe more, maybe less, but around 50 percent. Ours is way lower than that." While the Grand Slams offer by far the biggest purses – for many lower-ranked singles players, just getting in the main U.S. Open draw and losing in the first round is worth $110,000, often representing the bulk of their prize money for the year – reporting in the Athletic earlier this year showed that players earn somewhere in the teens as a percentage of total revenue generated by the four biggest tournaments. The Professional Tennis Players Association, an organization co-founded by Djokovic, filed an antitrust lawsuitearlier this year against the sports' governing bodies, including the ATP and WTA. FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) — Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels will not play in Washington's exhibition opener at New England, coach Dan Quinn said. Backup quarterback Marcus Mariota was among multiple players that did not travel. Mariota is working through a lower leg strain, Quinn said. That means quarterbacks Josh Johnson and Sam Hartman will handle the offense in Friday's game. But Quinn said Daniels was expected to have a sizable workload during Wednesday's practice, as would several others. He added that other players who received heavy reps would also not play Friday. Among those not making the trip was receiver Terry McLaurin, who is on the physically unable to perform list with an ankle injury in addition to "holding in" as contract talks continue. ___ AP NFL:https://apnews.com/hub/nfl

John Cena Gets Raw and Real About His Hair Transplant, "Peacemaker" and Life After WWE (Exclusive)

John Cena pulls back the curtain in this week's PEOPLE cover story and reflects on life, love and leaving the WWE after 23 years He shares how he's putting his health and 4-year marriage first as retirement nears The wrestler-actor returns to TV in season 2 of the hit HBO Max show,Peacemaker, out Aug. 21 When it comes to putting on a show,John Cenahas always been fearless. He wrestles in front of tens of thousands of people. He walks right into crowds at San Diego Comic-Con dressed as his superhero alter ego Peacemaker so he can connect with fans directly. And he even appeared nearlynaked onstage at the 2024 Oscarsjust to get a good laugh. But he admits one thing that scares him is being on-set for PEOPLE's cover shoot. "Gosh, these photo shoots are tough. Because the voice inside me is like, 'I'm not cool enough, and someone's telling me how to look cool.' So I'm scared of that. I'm scared of this interview, because I don't know what's going to happen." Sami Drasin "My job is to entertain folks," says Cena, 48. But as he sits down with PEOPLE on July 27, he cautiously pulls back the curtain to reveal the real John Cena, one who's reflective about aging, passionate about helping others and ready to see where life takes him as he nears retirement from pro wrestling. "I try to just do the best that I can each day, because I'm not perfect," he says. "But I try to just be as useful and grateful as I can." Cena had plenty of practice at home in West Newbury, Mass. with his four brothers, who would "kick the crap out of each other" and conduct "full-blown" sports entertainment wrestling shows. "We had entrances and music and characters," he says. "It was theatrical." https://people-app.onelink.me/HNIa/kz7l4cuf He started his fitness journey at 13, when he was tired of being beaten up by bullies and asked his dad for a weight set. "I got picked on for dressing a certain way or acting a certain way," he says. But the experience "made me realize what was important in my life. I doubled down on being myself. And as a 12-, 13-, 14-year-old that doesn't even have a fully formed mind yet, I just knew, 'Hey, man, don't waver. Just be you.' That's what helped me." After graduating from Springfield College, he worked his way up the ranks at Ultimate Pro Wrestling and made a name for himself in the WWE — first under the "The Doctor of Thuganomics," then quickly embraced the "Superman, Goody Two-shoes" archetype in the ring. Sami Drasin And he stayed that way for 22 years. According to Guinness World Records, he held the record for the longest run that any pro wrestler had gone without becoming a "bad guy," until March 1 when hebeat up Cody Rhodes and joined rival Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson in a shocking "heel turn." These moments have all been a part of his "farewell" tour from the WWE after he made the shocking announcement last July thathe is retiring from the ring in 2025. Rich Freeda/WWE via Getty "Age plays a factor," he says. "I'm not as strong or as fast as I used to be. I made a promise when I started gaining some notoriety that when I'm a step slower, I will go, because there will be kids just as hungry as I was who have earned a shot to see if they can make it." After nearly five years of marriage with wifeShay Shariatzadeh, an engineerhe met in Vancouver in 2019, his priorities are also shifting. His year-long tour is an opportunity for fans to get "closure," he says. "They're the reason for my optimism, my perseverance, my passion. They don't let you get away with phoning it in, because they'll eat you alive." Or point out your bald spot — which prompted Cena to confront another aspect of aging. "I saw their signs that said 'The bald John Cena,'" he says. "They pushed me into going to see what my options were. I now have a routine: red-light therapy, minoxidil, vitamins, shampoo, conditioner — and I also got a hair transplant last November. I hate the fact that if there wasn't so much shame around it, I'd have gotten it done 10 years ago. I thought I was alone, but seven or eight out of 10 [men] suffer from thinning or baldness." Sami Drasin He loves his new look. "They don't do anything except move your hair, one by one, from one area to another," he says. He pauses to remark how "fired up" he gets about the topic. "If somebody's going to sweat me for that, I don't think there's any shame in that," he says. "It completely changed the course of my life." Never miss a story — sign up forPEOPLE's free daily newsletterto stay up-to-date on the best of what PEOPLE has to offer, from celebrity news to compelling human interest stories. One way he says it helped him is by giving him more range as an actor. "A different hairstyle can identify a part that can get me more work, do the thing I love to do," he says. Cena first tested his big-screen charisma with his film debut,The Marine, in 2006 but admits he started acting to get more people to watch WWE. He quickly learned his lesson. "I was run out of the movie business in 2009 for doing bad movies where I wasn't present," he says. "I thought that just because I wore a golden leather belt on Monday and Friday, they'd come see whatever I'm doing. It's not true." He rebounded with comedic roles in 2015 withTrainwreck, SistersandDaddy's Home, then action turns in theTransformersandFast & Furiousfranchises. He expanded his role as Peacemaker, an egotistical vigilante in 2021'sSuicide Squad, into an acclaimed HBO Max series a year later. HBO Max He and costarsDanielle BrooksandJennifer Holland"support each other and allow each other to take big swings. It's fun." When he's not on screen, Cena giving back (hebroke the Make-a-Wish Foundation's record for most wishes granted to kids fighting critical illnesses with 650 in 2022) or recharging. "The days I need rest, I rest," he says, which may include "16 hours of sleep, and then I'm going to eat junk food, sit on the couch with the arm around the one I love, we're going to watch whatever we want or nothing at all." Alberto Rodriguez/Variety via Getty He approaches balancing everything in his busy life by giving attention to what's most needed in the moment: "If I'm deficient on physical strength and connection with ones I love, I will push those minutes wherever I can, whether it's getting my ass in the gym or being the best husband I can." That's "not easy," he notes. He and his wife, whom he met when he went to a restaurant to watch the Super Bowl and married a year later in 2020, look at the calendar "all the time. You got to do your homework." As he gets ready to wind down his run in the WWE, he is stepping into the next phase of his life with optimism. "I hope to remain curious and healthy — and that's physically, spiritually, mentally," he says. "As long as I have love, health and curiosity for what life has to offer, I think it'll work out. Who was that big 'Wednesday' villain? Where you've seen the 'avian' beforeNew Foto - Who was that big 'Wednesday' villain? Where you've seen the 'avian' before

Spoiler alert! The following contains details from Netflix's"Wednesday" Season 2, Part 1. Well we certainly didn't see that coming. Four episodes into the second season ofNetflix's "Wednesday"(Part 1 now streaming), and the season's first villain has been unmasked. It was a shocking and juicy twist to keep fans sated while they wait for the second half of the season to premiere in September (hopefully with100% more Lady Gaga). The new season sets our fair (literally, just look at how pale she is) hero Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega) on a quest to find whoever is threatening the life of her roommate Enid Sinclair (Emma Myers), and murdering people near the campus of Nevermore Academy with the help of, well, a murder of crows. Wednesday suspects that the mystery all revolves around the ominous Willow Hill Psychiatric Facility, an asylum for Outcasts (aka people with supernatural abilities) that currently houses none other than Season 1 villain and secret metamorphizing "Hyde," Tyler Galpin (Hunter Doohan). Willow Hill is run by the affable "normie" Dr. Rachael Fairburn (Thandiwe Newton), who Wednesday immediately believes may have nefarious intentions. Also on Wednesday's suspect list is new Nevermore teacher Isadora Capri, a musical prodigy slumming it teaching high school students, and who has ties to Willow Hill. Another tale of woe?'Wednesday' Season 2 ups Addams family 'values': Read our review But not even Wednesday Addams could have guessed that the mysterious "Avian" controlling all those murderous crows was chipper Willow Hill executive assistant Judi Spannegel (Heather Matarazzo), who just happens to be the daughter of Willow Hill's former chief psychiatrist and Nevermore's ex-science teacher, Augustus Stonehurst. With a maniacal grin and perfectly evil black cloak, Judi explains that her father was so fascinated with Outcasts that he kidnapped and experimented on them, trying to claim their powers for himself. All about Enid:'Wednesday' bestie Emma Myers talks wolfing out, 'Minecraft' memes Poor Gus never managed to make himself magical, but Judi got her powers from her father's mad scientist operation and kept things going, locking away tortured Outcasts in a secret laboratory under Willow Hill. Wednesday and her quirky Uncle Fester (Fred Armisen) release the poor traumatized souls, who seem to deal with Judi on her own as the inmates quickly take over the asylum. In the chaos Tyler escapes his bonds, quickly dispenses with his old handler/master/groomer Marilyn Thornhill (Christina Ricci) and goes after Wednesday, throwing her through a second story window and leaving her bleeding on the pavement. The episode ends with Wednesday's fate left unresolved. When Judi first appears in the season she's wearing a cheesy sweater and gleefully chirping to Wednesday about the genius of Dr. Fairburn and her love for Outcasts. But if you're wondering where you've seen her before, the actress is best known for her work in 1990s and 2000s films like "The Princess Diaires" (2001) and "Welcome to the Dollhouse" (1995). In "Diaires" Matarazzo, 42, played protagonist Mia's (Anne Hathaway) quirky best friend Lilly. The actress has had less work in the past few years, and discussed her difficulties working in Hollywood onsocial media. "I feel at a loss because I feel I have done THE WORK, for a long time, with no complaint," she wrote in a series of tweets on X, then Twitter, in 2022. "I have taken the disappointments, the rejections, etc., and maintained that rejection is redirection. I have had continual FAITH in the Universe, but today, something broke." In 2017, the actress shared similar sentiments withThe Guardian. "I don't know if I took a step back from Hollywood," she said. "Or Hollywood took a step back from me." Matarazzo also shared in the interview that she previously considered suicide in 2009, after months of unsuccessful auditions. "I was like, 'What kind of sick and twisted universe is this?'" she recalled. "The fact that I'm still here is a miracle in itself." Wednesday unmasks Judi only four episodes into the eight episode season, which will conclude on Sept. 3. But there are still many unanswered questions. Was Judi working alone? Who is Slurp, the zombie Wednesday's kid-brother Pugsley (Isaac Ordonez) accidentally brought back to life? Whenwill Lady Gaga show up? What will Tyler get up to now that he's free? And will Wednesday survive her fall? Mother Monster is coming:Lady Gaga fans will have to wait to see her in Netflix's 'Wednesday' As far as the last question goes, we're pretty sure that she will make a miraculous recovery. Afterall, there's no "Wednesday" on Netflix without Wednesday Addams.
