NFL power rankings: As preseason nears, who are Eagles' main threats?New Foto - NFL power rankings: As preseason nears, who are Eagles' main threats?

NFL power rankings with the 2025 preseason set to begin July 31 (previous rank in parentheses): 1.Philadelphia Eagles(1):The offense returns virtually intact, former coordinator (and newSaintshead coach) Kellen Moore a notable exception. Coordinator Vic Fangio is back for a second year running the defense, though that unit will need to adapt from significant losses in free agency. Last year's club was one of the very best of the past quarter century and seems to have an excellent shot at repeating − especially when you consider proven NFL players like RB AJ Dillon, CB Adoree' Jackson and OLBs Azeez Ojulari and Josh Uche are all projected to be among the backups. 2.Baltimore Ravens(2):How talented is this secondary? Chidobe Awuzie, a Round 2 pick in Dallas eight years ago, projects as thedimeback after former Green Bay Pro BowlerJaire Alexander joined upas the fifth first-rounder likely to play ahead of him on this unit. Stopping the pass was a big problem here a year ago but could be a strength as QB Lamar Jackson and Co. make their latest run at a Super Bowl. 3.Kansas City Chiefs(4):With G Trey Smith and DE George Karlaftis extended, the only piece of semi-pressing team business remaining is a new deal for All-Pro CB Trent McDuffie − and that may have to wait. Resolution on WRRashee Rice's post-legal statuswould also be nice, but even having him back for some portion of this season is a win over his injury-aborted 2024 campaign. K.C.'s biggest issue, the O-line notwithstanding, could be a quickly narrowing gap with their AFC West competitors. 4.Buffalo Bills(5):The only franchise to play in four consecutive Super Bowls − all infamous losses in the 1990s − is now the only team with 78 wins (playoffs included) over a six-season stretchwithoutreaching a Super Bowl. WillJosh Allen's (and the Mafia's) sufferingfinally end in 2025? 5.Los Angeles Rams(3):No team pushed Philly closer to the precipice in the 2024 playoffs than the Rams. No team might be more heavily reliant on a seemingly brittle component − Matthew Stafford − than the Rams, their 37-year-oldquarterback sidelined so far this summerby a balky back. He's missed 11 starts over the past three seasons. But if he's generally available in 2025, LA could wind up in SF for SB60. 6.Green Bay Packers(8):They bring a compelling mixture of young talent but also continuity, an aspect that could distinguish them from their NFC North rivals, who are all undergoing some measure of major upheaval at a key spot. 7.Washington Commanders(6):If you'd told their fans a year ago that the 2025 Commanders would reach the divisional round of the postseason, imagine what the excitement level would have been. Now? That might seem like a major disappointment for a team led by a quarterback, albeit the amazing Jayden Daniels, heading into just his second season. 8.Denver Broncos(13):While coachSean Payton and QB Bo Nix might be this team's most recognizable faces, a defense that ranked seventh overall in 2024 might wind up being its strength. 9.Detroit Lions(7):The departures of coordinators Ben Johnson (Bears) and Aaron Glenn (Jets) for head coaching gigs have drawn deserved offseason focus for the impact in Motown. But HC Dan Campbell also lost six other assistants as other teams try to replicate Detroit's recent success. Most of the Lions' copious talent remains, but it remains to be seen if the revamped staff can maximize it following a 27-7 regular-season mark over the past two seasons. 10.Pittsburgh Steelers(16):If theAaron Rodgers eralasts eight months, this season could be the sterling silver Stairway to Seven. If the Aaron Rodgers era lasts seven months, this season will be a slag pile that could land some folks on the scrap heap. But it seemsoff to an encouraging startin steamy Latrobe, Pennsylvania. 11.San Francisco 49ers(14):With many of their top players, like RB Christian McCaffrey and LT Trent Williams, healthy again − and armed with a last-place schedule that is the league's easiest based on opponents' collective winning percentage (.415) in 2024, they're well positioned for a major rebound. Still, with WR Brandon Aiyuk still on the mend from his 2024 ACL/MCL tear, WR Jauan Jennings seeking a raise, and the defense trying to recover from several departures, the beginning of the season could be something of a speed bump. 12.Arizona Cardinals(17):Below average under rookie coach Jonathan Gannon in 2023 to average last season, the Cards are hoping to sustain the upward trend into the postseason. 13.Houston Texans(10):Will they regret building their ground game around RBs Joe Mixon, Nick Chubb and Dameon Pierce, who are all in various states of disrepair? 14.Tampa Bay Buccaneers(9):With LT Tristan Wirfs (knee surgery), arguably the Bucs' best player, and WR Chris Godwin (ankle) stuck on the PUP list amid yet another offensive coordinator change, it's worth wondering if the perennial NFC South champs fall into an early season hole. 15.Los Angeles Chargers(11):While theeye injury to RB Najee Harrisandretirement of WR Mike Williamshave generated the summer headlines, the main concern here might be the defense given the Bolts allowed an average of more than 25 points over their final five games of last season ... and that was before they lost Joey Bosa and several others in free agency. 16.Seattle Seahawks(15):As a member of the Vikings, QB Sam Darnold dealt the 2024 Seahawks a death blow last December in Lumen Field. Now the 12s can only hope he's the real deal and won't serve a self-inflicted coup de grâce in November. 17.Minnesota Vikings(18):Maybe it's apples to Granny Smith apples, but let's attempt some contextualization. QB J.J. McCarthy attempted an average of 22.1 passes during his final (championship) season at Michigan in 2023. During his rookie absence in 2024, Darnold never threw fewer than 24 in a game for Minnesota on the way to his first Pro Bowl honors. Should be interesting to see how long HC Kevin O'Connell keeps the training wheels on McCarthy. 18.Cincinnati Bengals(12):In case you were wondering just how bad this defense might get without All-Pro DE Trey Hendrickson − though he's at least ready toend his holdoutand stop getting fined − no one else had more than five sacks or 23 pressures in 2024. He had a league-leading 17½ and 54, respectively. 19.New England Patriots(20):Highly regarded new coach. Talented second-year quarterback. An offseason loaded with major moves. Don't be surprised if their 2024 win total (4) doubles. NFL OFFSEASON GRADES:Patriots, Bears only teams to get A's, so how did rest do? 20.Chicago Bears(19):Highly regarded new coach. Talented second-year quarterback. An offseason loaded with major moves. Don't be surprised if their 2024 win total (5) doubles. 21.Dallas Cowboys(22):Tyler Guyton, last year's first-rounder,avoided a catastrophic camp injuryand could be ready by Week 1. But whether he's in the lineup or not, this team needs much better play from the left tackle spot if QB Dak Prescott is going to survive the full season. 22.Jacksonville Jaguars(26):The attention is understandably focused on WR/CB Travis Hunter, thesecond pick of the 2025 draft. Much moreshouldbe focused on QB Trevor Lawrence, the first pick of the 2021 draft − and upon whose shoulders, surgically repaired and otherwise, this franchise's fortunes will rise or fall. 23.New York Jets(25):They've got certifiable stars, a new coach who seems to be galvanizing the entire organization, a compelling haul of rookies andample buzz around new QB1 Justin Fields. But given how often potential and production are inversely related in the New York market, Glenn and Co. have plenty to prove despite all the promise. 24.Atlanta Falcons(27):Amid the runaway speculation about QB2 Kirk Cousins' future here … it mightbehere. With all of 230 snaps as a rookie, QB1 Michael Penix Jr. hasn't played much more than 2024 draft mate McCarthy, who also effectively replaced Cousins. But now two years removed from his Achilles tear plus arm and shoulder woes in 2024, don't be surprised if "KFC" comes out of the bullpen at some point and plays much better than he did late last season. 25.Carolina Panthers(23):If third-year QB Bryce Young is to sustain last year's late-season momentum, he'll need what was by far the league's worst defense to put him in far fewer compromising positions. 26.Las Vegas Raiders(21):Maybe thedeparture of DT Christian Wilkinsproves to be addition by subtraction. But it also leaves the defense in an even more precarious position while further incentivizing opponents to double- and triple-team DE Maxx Crosby. 27.Miami Dolphins(24):Speaking of defenses that have shed Wilkins −and CB Jalen Ramseyand S Jevon Holland and DL Calais Campbell − if the Fins' pass rush can't live up to its dominant potential, then this offense might have to win a lot of shootouts. 28.Tennessee Titans(31):They got QB Cam Ward atop the draft and, to the degree it wasn't already, it's full speed ahead with the rookie now that backupWill Levis has opted for season-ending shoulder surgery. Could be a rough, if hopeful, ride in Nashville. 29.New York Giants(28):They didn't get QB Cam Ward atop the draft − but reportedly tried − instead coming back into the bottom of Round 1 for Jaxson Dart. But it's currently full speed ahead with veteran Russell Wilson … even if he's unable to get this offense into third gear. 30.Indianapolis Colts(30):Legend has it that legendary coach and analyst John Madden uttered the phrase, "If you've got two quarterbacks, you have none." Not sure many folks will be playing "Madden NFL"with this Colts team. 31.Cleveland Browns(29):Given the open question here at quarterback, the offense would most obviously benefit from a strong rushing attack. But Chubb left and rookie second-rounder Quinshon Judkins remains unsigned due to ongoing legal issues. Jerome Ford, who rushed for a team-best 565 yards in 2024, stands to get a heavier workload than theDUDE Wipes that seem to underpinmuch of the team's marketing efforts. 32.New Orleans Saints(32):Derek Carr − gone. Tyrann Mathieu − gone. The core of what was a top-10 scoring defense four of the past five seasons − gone. Hope at the outset of the 2025 season − a camp holdout. Rescuers race to reach injured German Olympian stranded on a northern Pakistan mountainNew Foto - Rescuers race to reach injured German Olympian stranded on a northern Pakistan mountain

PESHAWAR, Pakistan (AP) — Rescuers comprising local mountaineers and porters resumed efforts on Wednesday to reach injuredGerman Olympic gold medalist Laura Dahlmeieron a peak in northern Pakistan, officials said. Faizullah Faraq, a spokesman for the regional Gilgit-Baltistan government, said rescuers were racing against time to reach Dahlmeier despite bad weather on the Laila Peak, where she has been stranded since Monday following a mountaineering accident. Dahlmeier, who also won the2017 women's biathlon World Cup, was climbing Laila Peak in the Karakoram mountain range when she was struck byfalling rocks. Climbers including two Americans attempting the same ascent are trying to join the rescue operation. Military helicopters were on standby but have been unable to deploy due to low visibility and ongoing bad weather and rainfall, Faraq said. Dahlmeier, 31, will be brought to the city of Skardu when she is rescued, Faraq said. Local authorities launched the rescue mission Monday after receiving a distress signal from Dahlmeier's climbing partner, Marina Eva, who managed to descend to base camp with help from rescuers Tuesday. Dahlmeier was injured at an altitude of about 5,700 meters (18,700 feet) around noon Monday, according to her management team in Germany. German broadcaster ZDF reported she suffered serious injuries in a rockfall. "There is still no clarity on her condition," Alpine Club of Pakistan Vice President Karrar Haidri told The Associated Press. "She sustained serious injuries, but she has oxygen with her, and injured climbers have been known to survive for days." "With heavy clouds choking the sky and rain falling on the high slopes of Laila Peak, rescuers are pushing through dangerous terrain to reach her," Haidri said. Hundreds of climberstry to scale mountainsin northern Pakistan every year and accidents are common because of avalanches and sudden weather changes. The region has also been battered by above-normal seasonal rains, triggering flash floods and landslides. Since last week, at least 20 Pakistani tourists have been missing after floodwaters swept them away near the northern district of Chilas.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan Breaks Down That 'Destination X' Finale Betrayal (Exclusive)originally appeared onParade. SPOILER ALERT! The following interview contains spoilers from the finale ofDestination Xon NBC. Please do not scroll down further if you do not wish to know the events of the final episode, including the winner. When it comes to the cast ofDestination X, trying to locate themselves habitually through the various landscapes of Europe often felt like two steps forward, one step back. And forBiggy Bailey, it was a series of two steps forward andmanysteps back that ended his journey for the $250,000 prize. The final episode of the NBC reality series had the final three competitors – Biggy,Peter WeberandRick Szabo– get tested on all the destinations they visited over the course of the season. Get a question right, and you could choose to step forward, or send someone backward, putting them further away from surviving the round. And it was in this game that the secret alliance between Rick and Peter finally came to the surface. Having been forged since theBachelorandTraitorsstar entered the bus as a late entry, the two men had been working under the radar for the entirety of the game. It was a realization, unfortunately, that came too late for Biggy. 🎬SIGN UP for Parade's Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox🎬 "I honestly felt so bad for Biggy," hostJeffrey Dean MorgantellsParadein an exclusive interview. "I mean, you could see it all happen at once. It all dawned on him in real time, as we were watching him. As he was having to take that step backwards and another step backwards, you could see his face, and he was crushed. Biggy is a bit of a force of nature, and a very honest guy who I think played a really straight up game and was kind of friends with everybody. And to have that happen, he didn't see it coming at all. It was hard to watch. That being said, it made for a great moment of television." After Biggy's blindside, Peter and Rick underwent their final test, a riddle-filled scavenger hunt to the biggest landmarks of London. After keeping apace the entire day, the two men diverged at the very last clue. And it was ultimately Rick who made the correct call, as his seasonlong attention to detail and European knowledge had earned the professional bird watcher a nice little nest egg. Jeffrey Dean Morgan talks withParadeabout hiw reactions to the finale, as well as what he would want to keep the same and change shouldDestination Xget renewed for Season 2. Related:Jeffrey Dean Morgan's Wife and Kids: Who is the 'Destination X' Host Married To? The climax of the finale came during the final elimination, when Biggy slowly realized, Keyser Sozé style, that Rick had been working with Peter the entire time. What was your reaction to that in the moment?I honestly felt so bad for Biggy. I mean, you could see it all happen at once. It all dawned on him in real time, as we were watching him. As he was having to take that step backwards and another step backwards, you could see his face, and he was crushed. You could feel it. And I mean, honestly, I felt bad. There were a couple of moments in the show when I felt bad. One was Mack's elimination, and then another was Biggy's, where you felt it. And Biggy is a bit of a force of nature, and a very honest guy who I think played a really straight up game and was kind of friends with everybody. And to have that happen, he didn't see it coming at all. It was hard to watch. It was hard to watch that realization. That being said, it made for a great moment of television. [Laughs.] The final task had Peter and Rick racing through London, solving clues to get to the final destination containing the winnings. Each guy selected a different place. But if they both chose Big Ben, who would have won? Would it just be whoever got there first? Here's the thing, because we only have an hour that we can show the game, there were two or three ties before we even got to Big Ben. They kept tying. So I remember it came down to them being in these taxi cabs and us filming. And it was like, "They tied again. They tied again." And so thank God we were running out of things to ask them at that certain point. But at the end, when Rick got to Big Ben, it was a legit win. He was the only one that was close. If they had both picked Big Ben, they had picked the same place three times before we even got to Big Ben. And I don't know what we would have done. I think if they got there at the same time, thank God they didn't. I don't know what we would have done. Split the money, pony up another 100 and kick 250 grand out of my pocket, probably! Destination Xbrought in three reality TV alums to play against newbies. What did you think about how that played out, and would that be something you're interested in doing for Season 2?I think it makes for good TV if the audience knows some people. I know they were really excited to see JaNa and Peter when they came on. I don't watch Love Island or The Bachelor; I've never seen these shows. My first conversation with JaNa, she announced to me that she was America's sweetheart, and I had no idea what she was talking about. I knew going in that we were going to have some reality show ringers join the bus halfway through, and I was told that the winner of Big Brother would be on to start the show.I never in a million years would have thought Josh would have been eliminated first. He was pretty smart, and I thought he kind of had a handle on where we were, especially being that he had been in Rome four weeks earlier with his family. But I think that set a tone immediately that maybe this wasn't going to be an easy deal for anybody, much less a reality show TV veteran. And then as far as JaNa and Peter, the people that have done these shows before know how it works. They know not only about the competition, but they know how to go and sit in front of a camera and work it to their advantage. They're very savvy, they're very smart, and it's just different. But you see how that changed with even the newbies, and how smart and how fast they become as the game goes on.I give big props to the casting department. Now, going forward, say we do a Season 2. I kind of like the mix of having some newbies as well as some veterans. And maybe also it would behoove us to do kind of whatTraitorsdoes, and have an "all-star" sort of thing of reality show vets come on and do the show. But I like the newbies. I like the guys [who] have never done this before. And you know, someone like Rick, who gets to walk away with the big prize, who we'd never seen before, a bird watcher from Canada, I think that's kind of cool. I wonder what the audience would think if Peter had come on Episode 3 and then won it, if people think that that's fair. Generally, ifDestination Xwere to be renewed, what would be some of the biggest things you would want to change for Season 2?Well, I think the great thing about this show is, as a crew – I mean, it's such a great crew. First of all, I need to give a ton of credit to the writers and directors and just the crew itself that have worked together for many years. A lot of the same people [who] do this show do Traitors. It was really kind of an all-star group of guys and gals that did this show. And so I think the key is to bring them all back. And I think that I was able to kind of find my legs and what I was doing. It took me a minute; this is my first kind of go around. And also we found a lot of the show in post; we had so much footage. Then it's about kind of finding a show that is going to be engaging to the viewers.I think we can even bring it up as far as how hard the challenges are and the questions and make it even smarter. I don't think anyone anticipated how smart all these players were. Not that anybody was dumb, but you wouldn't think that anybody hadn't left the United States would be so smart with where they were in Europe. I mean, you think you have a super hard challenge, and God, sometimes it was just ripped through them so fast. And it'd be like, "God damn it. Didn't anticipate that!" We just didn't anticipate the gameplay. And so I think it's going to be bringing it up a notch and make it a little bit harder. Because the audience that you find out is playing along too. So we want to make it hard for those at home. Australia bans YouTube accounts for children under 16 in reversal of previous stanceNew Foto - Australia bans YouTube accounts for children under 16 in reversal of previous stance

MELBOURNE, Australia (AP) — The Australian government announced YouTube will be among thesocial media platformsthat must ensure account holders are at least 16-years-old from December, reversing a position taken months ago on the popular video-sharing service. YouTube was listed as an exemption in November last year when theParliament passed world-first lawsthat will ban Australian children younger than 16 from platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok and X. Communications Minister Anika Wells released rules Wednesday that decide which online services are defined as "age-restricted social media platforms" and which avoid the age limit. The age restrictions take effect Dec. 10 and platforms will face fines of up to 50 million Australian dollars ($33 million) for "failing to take responsible steps" to exclude underage account holders, a government statement said. The steps are not defined. Wells defended applying the restrictions to YouTube and said the government would not be intimidated by threats of legal action from the platform's U.S. owner, Alphabet Inc. "The evidence cannot be ignored that four out of 10 Australian kids report that their most recent harm was on YouTube," Wells told reporters, referring to government research. "We will not be intimidated by legal threats when this is a genuine fight for the wellbeing of Australian kids." Children will be able to access YouTube but will not be allowed to have their own YouTube accounts. YouTube said the government's decision "reverses a clear, public commitment to exclude YouTube from this ban." "We share the government's goal of addressing and reducing online harms. Our position remains clear: YouTube is a video sharing platform with a library of free, high-quality content, increasingly viewed on TV screens. It's not social media," a YouTube statement said, noting it will consider next steps and engage with the government. Prime MinisterAnthony Albanesesaid Australia would campaign at a United Nations forum in New York in September for international support for banning children from social media. "I know from the discussions I've had with other leaders that they are looking at this and they are considering what impact social media is having on young people in their respective nations," Albanese said. "It is a common experience. This is not an Australian experience." Last year, the government commissioned an evaluation of age assurance technologies that was to report last month on how young children could be excluded from social media. The government had yet to receive that evaluation's final recommendations, Wells said. But she added the platform users won't have to upload documents such as passports and driver's licenses to prove their age. "Platforms have to provide an alternative to providing your own personal identification documents to satisfy themselves of age," Wells said. "These platforms know with deadly accuracy who we are, what we do and when we do it. And they know that you've had a Facebook account since 2009, so they know that you are over 16." Exempt services include online gaming, messaging, education and health apps. They are excluded because they are considered less harmful to children. The minimum age is intended to address harmful impacts on children including addictive behaviors caused by persuasive or manipulative platform design features, social isolation, sleep interference, poor mental and physical health, low life-satisfaction and exposure to inappropriate and harmful content, government documents say.

Browns CB Martin Emerson Jr. suffers Achilles injury in training camp, likely out for seasonNew Foto - Browns CB Martin Emerson Jr. suffers Achilles injury in training camp, likely out for season

Martin Emerson Jr.'s season is likely over. The Cleveland Browns cornerback suffered an Achilles injury in practice Tuesday, the team confirmed. Emerson will have an MRI on Wednesday to determine the severity, but it is believed to be a season-ending ruptured Achilles, according toCleveland.com's Mary Kay Cabot. [Join or create a Yahoo Fantasy Football league for the 2025 NFL season] Emerson was covering wide receiver Diontae Johnson in a 7-on-7 drill in practice Tuesday when he went down with a non-contact injury. Emerson was in a significant amount of pain almost immediately and remained on the ground for quite some time after ripping his helmet off while grabbing at the back of his left leg. He was seen with tears in his eyes before he placed a towel over his head and rode a cart off the field. Emerson didn't place any weight on his left leg as he got up onto the cart, either. The Browns selected the 24-year-old in the third round of the 2022 draft out of Mississippi State. He was set to enter the final year of his initial rookie contract this fall, which makes the injury even more significant as he works toward a second deal. Emerson spoke with reporters about his offseason and his new mentality just hours before the injury, too. "Just did a lot of soul searching, honestly, this offseason," he said, via Cleveland.com. "The toughest year I ever had team-wise and also personal performance. So I just got into the lab, man, and worked my tail off so I could put myself in the best situation for my team, but also my family." With Emerson now out, it's unclear whom the Browns may tab to replace him this season. They could move Greg Newsome II to the outside, or work in backups Cam Mitchell or Tony Brown in some fashion. The Browns still have plenty of time to work that out before their season opener Sept. 7.

NASCAR suspends Austin Hill for one race after intentional crashNew Foto - NASCAR suspends Austin Hill for one race after intentional crash

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — NASCAR on Tuesday suspended Austin Hill for one Xfinity Series race for intentionally crashing Aric Almirola at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Richard Childress Racing said Cup Series driver Austin Dillon will replace Hill in the Xfinity Series race at Iowa this weekend. The suspension also stripped Hill of the 21 playoff points he has earned in 2025 and prohibits him from earning points ahead of the playoffs under a new rule made before the start of the 2025 season. Hill will have to apply for a waiver to retain his playoff eligibility. Prior to the suspension, Hill's playoff points trailed only Connor Zilisch (29) and Justin Allgaier (22). But that count resets to zero, making his margin of error during the first playoff round virtually none. Hill is ranked seventh in the Xfinity Series standings with three victories. He will likely lose position in the standings with the suspension, and only drivers ranked in the top-12 make the Xfinity playoffs. Hill argued the contact with Almirola on Saturday was not intentional but NASCAR gave him a five-lap penalty. Hill went into an expletive-filled tirade after being told he was penalized. The two were in the top-five at Indy when Almirola made contact to move Hill up the race track. Hill corrected his car and then turned left to hook Almirola in the right rear. Almirola spun and crashed into the outside wall. Hill finished 34th and five laps down. Almirola finished 35th. ___ AP auto racing:https://apnews.com/hub/auto-racing
