A clip shared on Wednesday, June 25 — which shows Smith giving a client a nearly undetectable heart design on their shoulder — has racked up nearly 24 million views. Viewers were flabbergasted by the creation. Some joked about the size, commenting things like, "leave some ink for the rest of us," and "how do you expect to find a job now?""The only tattoo my mother can't see😂😂," a third wrote. Others called the ink "unnecessary" and commented that such a design should be incredibly cheap, if not free. In an email to PEOPLE, Smith clarifies that the tiny tattoos are part of an add-on service that is actually free of charge with the purchase of other tattoos. The client in her viral video, she explains, had come in for "multiple tattoos" during the appointment. "The tiny heart is a popular add-on," she says. "It takes about five minutes to complete and doesn't affect the overall pricing. A lot of clients love to include something small and meaningful like that during their sessions." Smith also adds that she enjoys doing fine-line and micro tattoos. "They require precision and are such a fun way to make a big impact with something so minimal," she says.
