Carmy has a lot of issues, not the least of which is that he's wound pretty tight after working for several years under an abusive fine dining chef named David Fields (Joel McHale) in New York City. So, would Carmy do well onBeat Bobby Flay? The star himself says absolutely not, and Flay's reasoning reveals that he is a big fan of the show because he's spot on in his assessment of Carmy. The clock would run out on him while he's thinking about how to approach the dish," wrote Flay on Instagram. Flay is definitely not wrong about Carmy getting in his own head all the time.
