As the show plays out, the teams must put their brains together to solve different clues and navigate around foreign countries. Past contestants are primarily everyday Americans, butThe Amazing Racehas also featured former reality TV stars, athletes and celebrities. However, the show is returning this year with a special twist. The season 38 cast consists of all-starBig Brotheralums competing against one another. The former reality TV stars will be paired up with a friend, partner or family member as their partner. In August 2025, CBS officially revealed the 13 pairs competing, as well as the location. At the time of the announcement, season 37 of the show was still airing before it wrapped up in May 2025. "The Amazing Racetakes the Racers and viewers on an unforgettable journey," co-creators and executive producers Bertram van Munster and Elise Doganieri said in an August 2025press release. "With a traveling crew of over 100 people, over the course of 38 seasons, we have traveled to nearly 100 countries and over 1 million miles, an extraordinary feat of storytelling and logistics. Before filming started, the contestants were unaware they'd compete against their fellowBig Brotheralums. "We've invited some ofBig Brother's favorite contestants to get out of the house and race in the real world," hostPhil Keoghansaid in theteaser. "[They are] paired with their favorite traveling companions." The 13 pairs comprise at least oneBig Brotheralum and their loved one.Enzo Palumbo, who competed on both seasons 12 and 22, paired up with his brother Jack Palumbo. Meanwhile,Natalie Negrotti, who competed on season 18, brought her sister Stephanie Negrotti. Season 21 alum Kat Dunn raced alongside her boyfriend, Alex Romo. TheBig Brotherseason 23 alums includeHannah Chaddha, who brought along her sister Simone Chaddha; andKyland Young, whose girlfriend,Taylor Hale, competed on season 24 ofBig Brotherand won. TheBig Brotherseason 24 alums areJoseph Abdin (who dated Hale), who brought his brother Adam Abdin; and Matt Turner, who is joined by his wife, Megan Turner. The season 24 winner,Taylor Hale, competed alongside season 23 contestant Kyland Young, as mentioned above. The two former stars from season 25 includeIzzy Gleicher, who brought her fiancée, Paige Seber; and that season's winner,Jag Bains, who worked alongside his brother Jas Bains. The final four pairs that round out season 38 are four contestants from season 26 ofBig Brother. They includeAngela Murray, who brought her daughter Lexi Murray; Rubina Bernabe, who paired up with her sister Kristine Bernabe; Tucker Des Lauriers, who brought his brother Eric Des Lauriers; and the season 26 winner, Chelsie Baham, who competed with her father, Jack Baham. "After 38 seasons, I have never seen so much emotion," he said in the trailer. CBS/Paramount+ Season 38 ofThe Amazing Racewas filmed across Europe. The season kicked off in Amsterdam before the pairs dwindled down, as they ventured to Prague, Budapest and Romania. While the challenges in each country have remained a surprise, the show's press release teased that contestants will "reach new heights in Prague, bathe like a king in Budapest and skydive nearly 13,000 feet over Romania." For the first time in the show's history, contestants faced their first challenge before officially starting the race. The first team to complete the task was awarded an express pass, while the last team to finish faced the consequences of a Hazard, per the show's press release.
